What are Chrome Dome picks? If they are actually dipped in chrome then I would expect a very bright pick attack. It would be like using a quarter for a pick. Seems to me that the metal on metal action going on there would put the hurt on your strings eventually. Maybe I don't know what the hell I'm talking about. 8P

Here's an 'interesting' clip I came across: Sarah Palin and Turkeys. Apparently it's a custom over there for politicians to save a Turkey every year. Well, she did, and then did the interview. Oh dear...
So, interesting forum action recently. A lot about how the Satchurator is good, how it is bad. How San Fran is better than anywhere else. Youtube viewers like Joe (don't we all) California is wet, which seems a change. Railton is very good at drawing....Oh yeah, people seem to really like making sandwiches at the moment. How could anyone get bored of you guys?
Listening to: 29 Palms by Robert Plant (possibly featuring Micahel Lee, not sure)

uugggghhhh in the 30's temp wise in usually warm florida. you northern folks PLEASE keet that cold ass weather up there, but feel free to vacation here anytime.
if you poll X number of players you will get X number of answers on what pedals they like. play what sounds good to you. i used a procro "rat" for years and never found anything i liked better. then out come the satchurator and the jemini. i like both of those.
slansh, what does using a pedal then compressor then another pedal and then another compressor do for the sound? i have never used a compressor b4 but i have a couple of friends that swear by their use.

thanks maritime. so in short, a compressor will smooth out the sound and create some nice sustain while eliminating any harshness caused by more aggressive picking techniques making a more useable sound. is this correct? but why use multiple compressors? why not just use 1 at the end of my effects?
also, i have been moving around how i input my effects. sometimes i use the amps effects loop and sometimes not. i can only notice some slight change in sound. the loop just seems to make it easier to manage. still have the same amount of cables, so line loss is the same, in fact you are adding 2 extra cables. any of you have any thoughts on this?

2 comps is not needed at all, one is fine and usualy a quick enough attack, medium ratio, medium/fast release and ur fine, i have the treshold jsut set above neutral volume from the pedal being bypassed and all works fine, i put it after my waha nd before my voerdrive and eq

tikimon:Depends on the player as y know.I use 4 comps at various stages in the fxs chain albeit subtle, gives the effect i want & cant get from one alone.Comp b4 & after Ov/Dist creates a great effect, its all personal pref, good t see talk about this on the forum
without comp it just aint funky Satchalous
The Keeley is good but that attack knob is missin that the CS3 has that makes ALL the difference having an ADSR "attack decay sustain release" with only 2 controls makes no sense t me....would make slan awfae sad

Coolies, Joe's in widescreen too!
I'm trying to think of cd's and dvd's to ask Santa for Christmas. Any ideas? The only thing I can think of is Dream Theaters Chaos In Motion dvd. I know there's way more than that I'd like to have, but my little brain is on overload at the moment.
HEY JOE, what's on yer Christmas List?

Life sure takes us in some strange directions. The early 1980s were no picnic for me either, Joe. But we live and learn, don't we.

Hey Joe,
Where are you goin with that axe in your hand?
I would say you are out to conquer the world if not the galaxy!!!!
Thanks for the parts in your interview about your relationship with your sisters. You landed in the middle of doting sisters and a brother---what more could a kid want while growing up?
My older sister thought our parents had me just for HER!!! That's the way my sister was at 4-years-old when I landed in the family! Eleven years later my younger sister was born and I was in a sammish of girls!! I had to go out and unofficially adopt brothers. And that's another story!

Oh don't go to bed you lot! Just finished work so a bit of play time.
Hey Joe - I notice you've added the Jagger clip I posted about to your Favourites - you sure looked like you enjoyed that tour and the gig at the Corner Hotel looked like it rocked - great vest!.
Really enjoyed the Youtube live event too - had no idea why the Funtwo kid was with you but it made sense after I looked him up (someone here posted the wiki link).
Hope you enjoy a good rest, more time with the family and get the creative juices going again - either for Chickenfoot or your next great effort.

Happy early Thanksgiving, everyone... Tune into 95.5 KLOS at noon Pacific time (the same time zone as the T2J clock...about 12 hours and 10 minutes from now) to hear Alice's Restaurant by Arlo Guthrie. Here's a link:
http://www.955klos.com/
There's a link to listen live at the top right of that page. It's a Thanksgiving tradition, so...listen!
Cappy Steve - I'm not sure how serious your question was, but in my mind the answer is obvious. There are certain things you just don't do, and walking up to a security guard with a sword in each hand (regardless of your intentions) is one of them.
I feel the same way about most "police brutality" cases, or the incidents you hear about every now and then where people get shocked repeatedly by tasers. Don't talk back to cops, period. Even if you're confident you aren't breaking the law...it's not smart, and, to be honest, it isn't polite.
Igneousiceman - Michael Lee played on Fate Of Nations, the album 29 Palms is on, but I'm not sure if he played on that actual track. I'd have to dig through the liner notes to know for sure...
I still haven't see an obituary on him move on the AP wire...argh.
michelle - Make sure you get the expanded edition of Chaos In Motion (3 CDs and 2 DVDs).
Two other recent releases:
- Rush - Snakes & Arrows DVD (this just came out yesterday)
- U2 - Under A Blood Red Sky CD/DVD
Listening to: The Black Crowes - By Your Side (current song: Then She Said My Name)

Doo the Stoo - Well actually my comment was a little tongue in cheek as I don't know the details of the incident but I am really fed up with all the killing going on in the world. You are of course entitled to your views about talking back to cops being rude but I would say it depends upon the situation. Cops are not divine beings, they are not above the law themselves and the average cop is not particularly intelligent (and i'm not saying they're stupid either). Respect them and the job they do, absolutely, but they are still only human and make mistakes. I'd better stop now, this is turning into a rant and that was not my intention.
Peace.
