SF Bay Area--It was down to 38F this morning. Cold weather for us, but blue sky.

Yeah, growin up female was weird at times. In order to cope I ran the track every morning in Jr. High & High School. That way guys weren't flirting with me or following me around or trying to pick me up. Guys liked to stare at my growing boobs (or accidently(?) bump into them--Yikes)!! Yep, it was time to hide in the library. AND THEN Dave sat two tables away from me and flirted at me, trying to gain eye contact--I tried not to notice. It was damn near impossible! Raging hormones almost did me in!! AND THEN THERE WAS CARL WHEN I WAS 14 AND VULNERABLE--TOO MUCH TEMPTATION!!

Come on Michelle and Tracie, help me out here!! Growing up female was challenging, scary, funny, weird, exhilarating and at times insane!! I don't ever want to go there again, except to help the girls like my niece get through it!

Just wanted to post my support for Joe in this whole Coldplay thing.

I saw the youtube video months ago, and I'm glad that Joe is standing up to these guys.

Coldplay just pissed off every self respecting guitar player on the planet.

Hi, iregistred to this site many years ago and i dont even rememmber posted anything here, just want to say that in youtube there are several videos with both songs "Viva la vida" and the original song "If i could fly"

Viva La Vida Vs If I Could Fly MashUp V.II

this is one example... so basically if he doesnt win this case, everybody at the US can throw copyright laws and i can finally make a record with my "original" hotel california song LOL..

no really, coldplay fans: I'm terribly sorry for all this but, coldplay must be denied to perform this stolen song.

and the entire music community: we can't let coldplay get away with this. its just wrong.

Nice and 'respectful' comment from Coldplay...
Campbell: That's cheeky and...and really quite devious! Like it...=D
SuperDave: Joe backing tracks. I haven't actually played along to any, jsut downloaded a few. Enjoy!

Dear Joe:

I hope this Coldplay thing is over soon, your career is brilliant, therefore i think it should not get bitter by this kind of things. There are some posts saying that an Alizee song and an Enanitos verdes song have some elemnts of "if I could fly", do you think is real, for me I do not hear it. Any way, I whish you luck and best of the 2009. I hope you may be for another G3 in Mexico soon. Best Regards.

Alizee - I'm fed up, very similar staccato string arrangement. Her song accents 1 and 3, CP's accents all beats... the melody is not the same, neither are the lyrics...

Creaky Boards - Songs I didn't write, a little bit of a stretch... similar elements, not melody or lyrics definitely

Cat Stevens - Love/Heaven, similar feel, not the same melody... this one is a good one, good job, trollz!

Oh, this CP fans! they are gonna make me transcribe 5 songs just to prove them wrong... oh well! I'll have to wait 'til the break, as I'm busy with my finals now...

the Enanitos Verdes' tune? not even! It's a longer phrase that starts with a three note motif that sequences itself implying the chord progression underneath...
if you listen to the song, everything else is so different it probably won't call anybody's attention unless they're told to... It is not significant enough to be considered plagiarism...

But, actually this song works in favor of JOE, because it enhances by comparison how much the other one DOES SOUND PRETTY MUCH THE SAME...

oh dear Joe, this coldplay thing is awful. I do feel the pain with you, since I know and love every song of you. This song is one of my favorite. I hope you wins the lawsuit.

There is one thing, that maybe can console you. (cover)Bands like coldplay are fashion-musicians. They have their glory while the fashion rules. But then a "new" fashion will come and everybody will forget coldplay. And then coldplays songs will end in the elevator ore something. But there are songs they will never die. Because you are not just "hearing" those, like when you walking through the shoping center, you are listening, feeling - and most important - you are understanding what you are listening. And of course the creator will stay legendary.

There are songs which touch you so deeply that you wanna cry: Tender Surrender - Dr.Vai Clouds Race Across the sky - ...

Joe,l don't be upset. We - your fans - really LOVE YOU. FOR EVER AND FAR BEYOND. Love and kisses from Germany

Goldengirl......Please don't stop. You're teasing me. Those stories were starting to get HOT !!!!....lol..... Just kidin'....Hugs to you....

maritime/Ibanezguitars..... How are you guys/gals? Thanks for askin' about me. Everything is going great. Last Sat. we had our band Christmas Party and it was a lot of fun. I picked up a XDS - Plus Digital Wireless system from Line 6 and it Rocks !!!! I was running all over the club jammin' and it was great. The peeps Loved it. It adds a new dimension when playing out....as long as you don't over do it. If you're ever in the market for a wireless system check it out It's Digital and actually sounds better than a cable. Take Care...

Slans.....Hippo Birdie to little John Lee. I can't believe it's ben' a year all ready. God Bless Little John Lee,Tura and yourself. Take Care my friend......

Have A Great Evening Everyone !!!

Edit...On this Satriani/Coldplay issue. I read the interview from the post and as always Joe handle this with class trying everything to avoid a court case. I agree with Joe 1000%. He has to protect his art. I really didn't think Coldplay would use If I Could Fly so blantly and thought as many it was a coincidence. But with the fact Joe states they haven't responded kinda makes me think they ripped off Joe. People do crazy shit and I can't believe they thought they could get away with this. Joe is huge with fans knowing every note he plays in his songs. Could Coldplay be really that stupid? I guess time will tell.

Go Get Em' Joe.......

SuperDave: I actually bought 2 cds from these guys:

Planet of Rock

and I'm very happy with the purchase. Money well spent. Most of the tracks are awesome, some are not so good, but they are the minority. Very fun to play along with.

Apparently they are releasing the satchafunkilus backings in about a month.

I bought the "100 tracks" and "Super collosal" (that's all the satch they have).

Good luck Joe with the Coldplay issue,I not only side with you but believe they ripped you, when I listn to the Coldplay version I dont hear alot of guitar or piano mostly strings and vocals...when watching live clips of Coldplay there tends to be an absence of those string sections and shady keyboard playing to overshadow it.bottom line Coldplay is a wee bit shady and Satriani is one of the greatest songwriters/musicians alive.I understand alot of songs sound the same but these songs have a deeper connection..with all the artificial music going on with Coldplays live performance I would chance saying they actually ripped parts right from your record.or maybe they re-recorded but theres a strangeness going on here, and I know Satch would know best.I would know if someone else was using my original heart and soul music.also there is a video of Coldplay doing Viva La Vida Im not sure how many videos of this jam they have but they use the exact same inverted greenish Purple colors throughout the entire video that you did on the covers and interior of Is There Love In Space at times the guitarist for them could have been you buried in the shadows.with the absence of any actual playing going on...well for someone who has not influenced them Satch.it sure looks like you rubbed of on them.play on!

Hey Joe. I just want to tell you that I am a HUGE fan of yours. I have almost all your CD's, I even own your signature guitar by Ibanez. I really want to move my playing along and I really like your style. Can you give me any small tips that will help me?

Also, I'm Quite glad you are suing Coldplay. They totally ripped your song, and I knew it the second I heard it too. Don't let them get away with it.

I live in St. Louis and on your last tour you didn't come here... There are so many Satriani fans here, that you've gotta come here soon. I want to see you live soooo bad...
