Excellent advice...and I've always wanted to be a dog, or a cat :)

As someone recently reminded me, only 19 days to Christmas...keeping it simple this year, low stress and low hassle that way. I hope everyone has a nice holiday season.

greetings, this is my first time, be gentle ! I live in the UK and have loved Satch since I bought Flyin' at the tender age of 16, having been playing along with my dad's shadows records for two years! I saw the mash up that someone posted on you tube about the if I could fly/viva la vida and could smell something brewing. coldplay are popular over here because they're so mainstream and safe. most boring brits find this entertaining for some reason. the only way they came up with a decent song is by ripping off someone else's music. I hope you are successful in your case Joe, I'm know all your fans are behind you 110% and as for the coldplay fans, they've always got snow patrol or keane or some other dreary pop crap to listen to. bye for now. love to joe.

I highly doubt anything can be said at all until this is settled. By either side...other than a formal statement made through lawyers for the press.

So anyway, there was life before this came up and there will continue to be life after. Joe knows he has support from us....I imagine all parties concerned want to take care of this as quickly and quietly as possible and there will be much that we won't be privvy to, so we'd only be speculating and making guesses. Kinda pointless to do that....let the courts do their jobs, eh?

If I wuz gonna buy an IPod or some such device, any suggestions out there? Of course, please temper yer suggestions with the knowledge that I am a complete tard when it comes to electronic devices :))) So it hasta be totally tard-user friendly, as in NO ONE could be so dumb as to not get how to download songs and use this! Does anything like this exist? Is my quest completely futile? Am I doomed to tardness without tunes?

:)

GO JOE! Its about time that you get the reconition that you deserve Joe. I always tell people that you are one of the greatest song writers of all time, and now the rest of the world gets to know as well. Just keep up all the great tunes that you have givin to us in past. I really love GHOST. That was such a bad ass tune when I heard it l LIVE in Big D. I had to go and get it off Itunes. Anyways, I pray that all goes well for you. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL.

Doesn't matter who the most popular band in he world is. If it can be proven by probability that Coldplay acted wrongly, they will be liable. Doesn't matter about lyrics either - that is seperable from the music.

Since it was Joe that filed the suit, most likely in San Francisco - there is no coldplay advantage.

I have heard a couple of songs in the past year or two that sounded pretty similar to Joes - one that was a dead ringer for Satch Boogie and a couple of other.

Glitz Man: Oh, don't worry. I won't...promise :) Really tempting though I must admit after reading some of the 'I have my head a very long way up my bottom' comments that lot were saying. But, we shoudn'y lower ourselves to their level by making this a slagging match.

For all tempted to do silly things to effigies of Chris Martin Woosa. =D
DoTheStu: You're sooo right about T2J. The Coldplay lot seem like a load of petty, childish erm, somethings. Well summed up as well by the way.
Oh bugger, here is a quote of me a few months ago that DTS provided: Coldplay expect to hear from joe's lawyers Woops...=}
maritime: Woah there! Muse are in a class of their own, perhaps not earth shatteringly different, but definely unique. That's my view anyhow :) But tell me about it, the British 'rock' scene sucks...we need another Iron Maiden album.
cheese: Well, I'm fairly sure Apple designed the iPod with 'tards' in mind, I love mine and have had two. Not the cheapest but they work well. I have an iPod Classic Apple's take on it. You could do much worse than one of those. The new Nano looks pretty cool as well...you don't have to download music either, I never have. Just put your cds in and itunes does the rest!

I don't care at all who wins or loses in the plagiaism case because it's not my business, and only Joe (and his lawyers I suppose) knows all the reasons which compelled him to take action.

I think ITLIS is my favourite Joe album and whatever happens will not change that. Having never bought a Coldplay album, whatever happens will not persuade me to buy one.
Meanwhile, hundreds of people have died, and thousands and thousands are infected in the cholera crisis that has caused a national emergency in Zimbabwe.

Trace - It depends whether or not you want to fill it with shite! I don't know how many CD's you have in your collection but I know you're not such a tard that you can't work out the amount of memory you would need to put the whole lot on with room for more in future. I have an ipod 120 gig, creative 30 gig and an ipod nano 8 gig. Until I got the nano I used the creative the most but the nano is a little beauty, it's next to no size and holds a surprising amount of music. It's very tempting to fill a big memory with 'borrowed' shite once you have got all you 'own' stuff on. Oh yeah, sammished yer!

JS-JS , that comment. We need Columbo. Joe talked about Coldplay in a magazine years ago but i read the article in the shop so can't quote it. Joe was asked what was in his CD player and he said Coldplay. All i remember is that he liked it and said that although you couldn't always hear the guitar it was definately there.

OK, I have a bunch of old posts to fly through...I'm going to try and do that now...

joea64 - It looks like you're fairly new around here, so I thought I'd just say hello and welcome to the site...

kpmahuna - Leslie West joined Joe during the encore because Joe wanted him to. I thought those jams were great...sorry to hear you didn't enjoy it at your show.
GoldenGirl2 - I'm still catching up on old stuff, but have you bought ITLIS? yet?
alexandrecaetano - I'm sorry to hear about your dog... :-(
mjs99 - Thanks for posting that picture of the moon, Venus, and Jupiter. I saw that in the US the other day, but it was a bit different because you and I are on opposite ends of the Earth (the moon was a "frown" and the planets were below it and to the right). So it's cool to see your view.
jonboy4life - No, Joe has never played The Souls Of Distortion live. I'd love to see it at some point...it's currently my favorite song from ITLIS?...
Satriella - I'm a few days late with this, but my new name is Snooty Chickensquirt...haha. Weird. ;-)

And that's a good list of confusing English stuff, but it doesn't have my favorite: He felt ill after he felt the felt eraser.

Fender Lead 1 - The song you missed at the Reno gig was I Just Wanna Rock, from Joe's newest album.
michelle - "Though I'm betting that Joe is swearing like a sailor these days. lmao!! "

I think you're right...haha. At the San Francisco aftershow, I heard Joe swear for the first time. He was talking to Al about how recording studios in the US were closing and he let an f-bomb loose.

Well, I have eight pages to go, but that should be quick because I think I'm current on the last three or four pages...maybe I can finish catching up tonight after work...

hey guys, just one of my "hey what's up doods!" posts :)

i'd like to start it with a big LOL @ cold play.

Also, I'm going to be releasing (FINALLY) my first head on instrumental record. Pretty excited about it as it's main focus really isn't the guitar by any means! Totally stepped out of my shell :) I'm very pleased with the way it came out! If anyone has any interest in it, head over to www.myspace.com/mattkingmusic to check it out in it's entirety! Short, but sweet. A nice taste :)

How's everyone been doing over here these days? I still see some familiar faces around here! I can't believe how much time has gone by since I first started visiting this place. Imo, bring back the retro time machine bg. It's all about the EPK as well!

Ok I've done enough rambling! btw, anyone here recommend any good reads? I've just completed David Bakers Jazz improv book, and i highly recommend it to anyone lookin to take that next step out of straight diatonic/pentatonic playing! Great section on chord subs in there ~

ok NOW I'm done rambling! take care fellas.

ps. OTZ i know you see it.
