Ugh...tonight was such a horrible one at work. Everything was late and slow and just meh. I'm glad I have a vacation coming up. A new job coming up would be even better, though. :-/

jeg1000 - Ah, that old username sounds familiar...it's good to see you here again.
FabLawyer of SBM - I go and look through old posts every now and then too. Because of the lawsuit, I recently went back and read some early opinions on ITLIS?...If I Could Fly was a favorite for a bunch of T2Jers from the start.

I think my favorite old T2J memory is /V\ | |\| |> $ + 0 R /V\ and all of the related symbols that we'd come up with. We even got Joe to take part in the craziness (click here and scroll down to Thu Apr 18 20:23).

And this may sound a bit weird, but I go back to read this page every now and then. It started with Joe asking if anyone had tried Mac OS X and michelle singing I Believe (In Ice Cream), and then everything changed.

Railton - You're welcome...I think. ;-)

...Austin...

I think we need "Joe" shirt day to show our support to Joe.

We need to pick a day, where everybody puts one on to wear proudly for the day.

Hey Joe,

I saw, in a guys shop, y'know where they sell bar clocks and silly drinking glasses and stuff, they had guitarist action figures from guitar hero.

I madly looked through them for a Joe Satriani, complete with black dog guitar. Imagine my surprise when I couldn't find one! LOL. I did find a complete Metallica band box, with guitarist, drummer, etc..

Anyway, it got me to thinking, I reckon a LOT of fans would buy a posable shaved buckethead guitarist action figure with a blackdog or JS1200CA or js10th guitar they could sit in their studio or on the desk at work.

In fact, you could have a timemachine and satchurator pedal in there, and a couple of guitars. then you could sell accessories, different guitars (a limited set of donnies, rainforests and electric rainbows) a JSX head and cabinets, a rubber chicken, a moustache and eyebrow disguise set, etc.... Then get the guys into it and have stu figure, and a Jeff figure with drums, and a Galen figure.

That would be pretty funny.

Let me know if you want me to do it and how much royalty you want from sales, and I'll track down some manufacturers.

:)

i am getting sick of this anti coldplay thing here...they are not my fav band and i don't really like them...but with everyone siding with joe satriani and you all will because you are all his fans.but i am imagining coldplay (who have sold more records and written countless hits...without being accused of stealing other artists lyrics! all sat around and listened to joes album and said..."man that was a great track...we are not good songwriters lets copy joes and make heaps of money! " so seriously...it won't win in court, there will be a small settlement and thats it.i am sick of all the fans here just jumping on the band wagon and just accusing coldplay of stealing and not thinking logically... what about the english gruop...THE VERVE with the huge hit..."bittersweet symphony" the stones accused them of stealing the melody of"the last time" and yes you could hear it...but only after it was pointed out in the media by lawyers etc...again i feel it was an accident and the verve never intentionally stole the melody...and i feel music is so diverse it would be hard to prove that something that sounds similar was dilberately stolen...so please stop thinking that coldplay stole it without knowing the facts...a talented musician like joe needs his fans...but the fans have to think logically like i am...a fan of joes...but am not getting carried away...

-------------------------------------------

Geography of women

Between the ages of 18 - 21 a woman is like Africa or Australia. She is half discovered, half wild and naturally beautiful with bushland around the fertile deltas.

Between the ages of 21 - 30 a woman is like America or Japan. Completely discovered, very well developed and open to trade especially with countries with cash or cars.

Between the ages of 30 - 35 she is like India or Spain. Very hot, relaxed and convinced of its own beauty.

Between the ages of 35 - 40 a woman is like France or Argentina. She may have been half destroyed during the war but can still be a warm and desirable place to visit.

Between the ages of 40 - 50 she is like Yugoslavia or Iraq. She lost the war and is haunted by past mistakes. Massive reconstruction is now necessary.

Between the ages of 50 - 60 she is like Russia or Canada. Very wide, quiet and the borders are practically unpatrolled but the frigid climate keeps people away.

Between the ages of 60 - 70 a woman is like England or Mongolia. With a glorious and all conquering past but alas no future.

After 70, they become Albania or Afghanistan. Everyone knows where it is, but no one wants to go there.

------------------------------------------

Only in America...

Only in America can a pizza get to your house faster than an ambulance.

Only in America are there handicapped parking places in front of a skating rink.

Only in America do we award someone $3,000,000 for spilling hot coffee in their own lap.

Only in America do we have labels on baby strollers to remind people to remove the baby before folding up the stroller.

Only in America do drugstores make the sick walk all the way to the back of the store to get their prescriptions.

Only in America do people order double cheese burgers, large fries, and a diet coke.

Only in America do banks leave all the doors open and then chain the pens to the counters.

Only in America do we leave cars worth thousands of dollars in the driveway and leave useless junk in the garage.

Only in America do we use answering machines to screen calls and then have call waiting so we won't miss a call from someone we didn't want to talk to in the first place.

Only in America do we buy hot dogs in packages of ten and buns in packages of eight.

Only in America do we use the word "politics" to describe the process so well: "Poli" in Latin meaning "many" and "tics" meaning "blood-sucking creatures".

Only in America do they have drive-up ATM machines with Braille lettering!

----------------

This guy was lonely and so he decided life would be more fun if he had a pet. So he went to the pet store and told the owner that he wanted to buy an unusual pet. After some discussion he finally bought a centipede, (100 leg bug), which came in a little white box to use for his house.

He took the box home, found a good location for the box, and decided he would start off by taking his new pet to the bar for a drink. So he asked the centipede in the box, "Would you like to go to Frank's place with me and have a beer?"

But there was no answer from his new pet.

This bothered him a bit, but he waited a while and then asked him again, "How about going to the bar and having a drink with me?"

But again there was no answer from his new friend and pet. So he waited a few minutes more, thinking about the situation. He decided to ask him one more time, this time putting his face up against the centipede's house and shouting, "Hey, in there! Would you like to go to Frank's place and have a drink with me?"

A little voice came out of the box "I heard you the first time! I'm putting on my shoes."

WISE WORDS ABOUT LOVE...

I love you not because of who you are, but because of who I am when I am with you.

No man or woman is worth your tears, and the one who is, won't make you cry.

Just because someone doesn't love you the way you want them to, doesn't mean they don't love you with all they have.

A true friend is someone who reaches for your hand and touches your heart.

The worst way to miss someone is to be sitting right beside them knowing you can't have them.

Never frown, even when you are sad, because you never know who is falling in love with your smile.

To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world.

Don't waste your time on a man/woman, who isn't willing to waste their time on you.

Don't cry because it is over, smile because it happened.

There's always going to be people that hurt you so what you have to do is keep on trusting and just be more careful about who you trust next time around.

Make yourself a better person and know who you are before you try and know someone else and expect them to know you.

Don't try so hard, the best things come when you least expect them to.

---------------------------------------

Abraham Lincoln was elected to Congress in 1846.
John F. Kennedy was elected to Congress in 1946.

Abraham Lincoln was elected President in 1860.
John F. Kennedy was elected President in 1960.

Both were particularly concerned with civil rights.
Both wives lost their children while living in the White House.
Both Presidents were shot on a Friday.
Both Presidents were shot in the head.

Now it gets really weird...

Lincoln's secretary was named Kennedy.
Kennedy's Secretary was named Lincoln.

Both were assassinated by Southerners.
Both were succeeded by Southerners named Johnson.

Andrew Johnson, who succeeded Lincoln, was born in 1808.
Lyndon Johnson, who succeeded Kennedy, was born in 1908.

John Wilkes Booth, who assassinated Lincoln, was born in 1839.
Lee Harvey Oswald, who assassinated Kennedy, was born in 1939.

Both assassins were known by their three names.
Both names are composed of fifteen letters.

Now hang on to your seat...

Lincoln was shot at the theater named 'Ford.'
Kennedy was shot in a car called 'Lincoln' made by 'Ford.'

Lincoln was shot in a theater and his assassin ran and hid in a warehouse.
Kennedy was shot from a warehouse and his assassin ran and hid in a theater.

Booth and Oswald were assassinated before their trials.

And here's the kicker...

A week before Lincoln was shot, he was in Monroe, Maryland.

A week before Kennedy was shot, he was with Marilyn Monroe.

So I have finally started the painful process of backing up and converting my itunes library! Anyone who has done this knows the pain. The good thing is that once you finally burn it all to disc you can put the disc back in your computer and use windows to convert it to a non protected mp3. That's a long painful way around the DRM issue also. I just waited to long. It's going to take me about 120 CDs to get my entire purchased library burned. Yuck! Once the music is uncompressed though, you have a near out of the store quality sound. When you start ripping them back to mp3 format, you can do it at 320kbps. That's better than aac format. Not lossles, but good for compressed music. Once I finally finish this whole process, I will finally be able to branch off to other mp3 players. Maybe a Sony walkman or one of the Samsung P2's. It would be nice to have an mp3 player with an FM tuner built in.

We are probably less than a year from the end of DRM music. Apple is pretty close to finally getting a deal done with all the major labels. The problem though is all the ituens downloaded music you have will have to be repurchased at a "reduced" price to convert it to DRM Free. Anyone out there have a favorite mp3 player outside of the ipod family? I do have an ipod touch which I REALLY do enjoy. It's got almost everything.

Prestagepaulo - you know Satch has sold like over 10 million albums right? He isn't just some random guitar player. Read every post about Coldplay on here, then go read every post about Satriani over on the Coldplay site. You will soon come to realize that the Posters here know the difference between presenting facts and making personal attacks. Secondly, I have head 60 year old ladies, and 7 year old kids both say that the 2 songs sound identical. Then there is the music theory behind it all... i think its going to be far from being "thrown out". It really is a shame that the fans of both Satriani and Coldplay have put up with each other. Not every Satriani Fan thinks that Coldplay are a Bunch of Talentless Brits, and not all Coldplay's fans have never heard of Joe Satriani (Like come on, everyone has heard a Satch song sometime in their life! I watched The Super Mario Brother's movie and got excited because The Speed of Light was in there!) SO lets leave the arguing to the people involved. Its like arguing about politics, in the end you just end up looking stupid to people who really dont care.

Joe Satrini--Thanks for your kind words about my Steve. He is feeling much better.

Sunday brought the rain! At last our reservoirs will fill instead of empty! The snow level is dropping to 1000 feet in the next 24 hours.

Slans, Slans, Slans--How could I ever make you do something you don't want to do? Not my motive at all! Just want to pass along the Hypocratic oath, "First, do no harm." If I offended you, I'm sorry. That was not my intention. FZ had a unique view of life. No one will ever take his place.

Michelle--How is Sully? Is he enjoying his catnip?

Happy Monday to all T2Jers!
