Joe Satriani good onya for standing up for your music >=:o) you're all heart, that's why we love your guitar playing so much.

'If I Could Fly' is worth fighting for, probably the best song on ITLIS along with 'Searching'. honestly i don't think there's any song by you that isn't worth fighting for....oh wait 'Woodstock Jam' ;) maybe not that one.

Love You Joe!

It's pretty one sided opinion ther Mr. Scott pretty sad...but oh well

If anyone wants a good laugh... here check This, the vid there is funny - its just to the right under the songs... its clearly Joe's your my world backing being played... then some random noodle over it with some vai and satriani licks now and again... the other songs on the page are a bunch of vai and joe licks mashed together badly over the same vai ro satriani backings... its fun to listen to though... :)

go easy on him Joseph

SF Bay Area--It was down to 38F this morning. Cold weather for us, but blue sky.

Yeah, growin up female was weird at times. In order to cope I ran the track every morning in Jr. High & High School. That way guys weren't flirting with me or following me around or trying to pick me up. Guys liked to stare at my growing boobs (or accidently(?) bump into them--Yikes)!! Yep, it was time to hide in the library. AND THEN Dave sat two tables away from me and flirted at me, trying to gain eye contact--I tried not to notice. It was damn near impossible! Raging hormones almost did me in!! AND THEN THERE WAS CARL WHEN I WAS 14 AND VULNERABLE--TOO MUCH TEMPTATION!!

Come on Michelle and Tracie, help me out here!! Growing up female was challenging, scary, funny, weird, exhilarating and at times insane!! I don't ever want to go there again, except to help the girls like my niece get through it!

Just wanted to post my support for Joe in this whole Coldplay thing.

I saw the youtube video months ago, and I'm glad that Joe is standing up to these guys.

Coldplay just pissed off every self respecting guitar player on the planet.

Hi, iregistred to this site many years ago and i dont even rememmber posted anything here, just want to say that in youtube there are several videos with both songs "Viva la vida" and the original song "If i could fly"

Viva La Vida Vs If I Could Fly MashUp V.II

this is one example... so basically if he doesnt win this case, everybody at the US can throw copyright laws and i can finally make a record with my "original" hotel california song LOL..

no really, coldplay fans: I'm terribly sorry for all this but, coldplay must be denied to perform this stolen song.

and the entire music community: we can't let coldplay get away with this. its just wrong.

Nice and 'respectful' comment from Coldplay...
Campbell: That's cheeky and...and really quite devious! Like it...=D
SuperDave: Joe backing tracks. I haven't actually played along to any, jsut downloaded a few. Enjoy!

Dear Joe:

I hope this Coldplay thing is over soon, your career is brilliant, therefore i think it should not get bitter by this kind of things. There are some posts saying that an Alizee song and an Enanitos verdes song have some elemnts of "if I could fly", do you think is real, for me I do not hear it. Any way, I whish you luck and best of the 2009. I hope you may be for another G3 in Mexico soon. Best Regards.

Alizee - I'm fed up, very similar staccato string arrangement. Her song accents 1 and 3, CP's accents all beats... the melody is not the same, neither are the lyrics...

Creaky Boards - Songs I didn't write, a little bit of a stretch... similar elements, not melody or lyrics definitely

Cat Stevens - Love/Heaven, similar feel, not the same melody... this one is a good one, good job, trollz!

Oh, this CP fans! they are gonna make me transcribe 5 songs just to prove them wrong... oh well! I'll have to wait 'til the break, as I'm busy with my finals now...

the Enanitos Verdes' tune? not even! It's a longer phrase that starts with a three note motif that sequences itself implying the chord progression underneath...
if you listen to the song, everything else is so different it probably won't call anybody's attention unless they're told to... It is not significant enough to be considered plagiarism...

But, actually this song works in favor of JOE, because it enhances by comparison how much the other one DOES SOUND PRETTY MUCH THE SAME...

oh dear Joe, this coldplay thing is awful. I do feel the pain with you, since I know and love every song of you. This song is one of my favorite. I hope you wins the lawsuit.

There is one thing, that maybe can console you. (cover)Bands like coldplay are fashion-musicians. They have their glory while the fashion rules. But then a "new" fashion will come and everybody will forget coldplay. And then coldplays songs will end in the elevator ore something. But there are songs they will never die. Because you are not just "hearing" those, like when you walking through the shoping center, you are listening, feeling - and most important - you are understanding what you are listening. And of course the creator will stay legendary.

There are songs which touch you so deeply that you wanna cry: Tender Surrender - Dr.Vai Clouds Race Across the sky - ...

Joe,l don't be upset. We - your fans - really LOVE YOU. FOR EVER AND FAR BEYOND. Love and kisses from Germany
