slans...do you call cigarettes "spliff's" over there or should I be on my way to your place..lol. I don't recall ciggies making me go "Aaahhhhhhhh"
ok...maybe after a stressful day it might but that's a very distinct "Aaahhhhhhhh"

JSPhil: Er, I voted for Hoy. Sorry, but if Hoy hadn't been there, I would have voted for Lewis. But for me, after meeting Hoy and after the year British Cycling has had...well, couldn't be anyone else! At least lewis got 2nd, although that's his second 2nd in as many years!!
Well, Roo, nobody can accuse you of not being the entrepreneurial type!

roo , i'd buy one. Funny you should come up with that as i was looking for gifts today and in this shop that sell figurines (Elvis and star wars etc) they had last week a 6inch JS Ibanez model guitar but today it's gone. Only the paque remained.
philthemetalhead, you might know the shop, it's next to Argos off of Corporation st. Yep go for it roo, a shinny bendable plastic model of joe.

I would just like to lend Joe my support and let him know us south'ner's (hemisphere) are behind him. Although, I feel a bit uneasy about it, just because I really do not like Coldplay (even waaaaay before this whole incident) and that I hold Satchy as my favourite artist, I admit that I do hold an unfair bias towards Joe. Also, I recognised 'Viva La Vida' being significantly close to 'If I Could Fly' around early July (when I believe it was released), however I lack the theoretical knowledge to make up an educated decision about the similarities.
I do wish I could understand the situation more, and actually show my support to Joe in a way that reinforces his decision to move this to court, but the sad fact is that I don't; I instead trust in his judgement and blindly support him.
In the end though, I really think Satchy can only come out on top. I'm not saying he's going to win the case, I have no way of knowing that, but I believe his reputation will rise, as he is the underdog with the honest and heart-tugging persona that will only garner him a wider audience.
Please don't quote anything I say, I'm bound to be entirely wrong, haha!

roo - I assume the answer will be no, but...would you consider a "Please pick a name that isn't Chickenfoot!" petition on your site for people like me? ;-)
prestagepaulo - There's more to it than just siding with Joe because we're his fans, but that's another point.
Do some research and you'll see Coldplay have been accused of plagiarism before. You'll also see that Coldplay knew of Joe Satriani at least as early as 2002 when they mentiontioned him in an interview. It wasn't a positive mention, which makes me think the band has been upset with Satch for a while. But were they upset enough to steal one of his songs? We'll have to wait and see...
hybes - I highly recommend SanDisk's Sansa View. SanDisk makes flash memory...their players pack more memory at a lower price because they don't have to buy it from an outside supplier. I bought a 16 GB player from them in October 2007 for about the same price the 8 GB iPod Nano was selling for. They had 8 GB and 16 GB versions when they launched last year, and now they even have a 32 GB player.
The players can handle multiple audio and video formats, and they also have an FM tuner. My favorite thing about them, though, is that you can transfer music to/from them by dragging and dropping, just as if the player was a floppy disk or flash drive (if you want, you can even put non-music files on there and temporarily treat your player as a huge flash drive). But if you'd rather not drag and drop, the players are compatible with Media Monkey or other media library managing software.
It sounds like you aren't looking for a new player just yet, but keep this one in mind. The amount of storage space you get for the price with these players is great...
El Nicko - "Please don't quote anything I say, I'm bound to be entirely wrong, haha!"
;-)
Seriously, though, it's nice to see your point of view...

What a great way of looking at this situation. I never looked at it that way and you're right. a lot of Coldplay fans are gonna be checkin' out Joe's music. There's aways a positive from a negitive,,,,,Always. Take Care

Do The Stu - I checked out the links. It was cool to have Joe get into the Mind Storm thing. I guess Okinawa Mike is no longer around?
As for Sept 11th - it was strange reading that page. Interestingly enough, the second post was to me and my ex-wife Lucinda from Evolve2B - talking about what I must have said in a prior post (whatever that was). This is like a personal diary!!

Do The Stu - thanks for those links to the T2J archives - v. interesting reading the old posts (poor Michelle!) and it hits home just how long you guys have been around!
A shame Joe doesn't get as much time to give out some blue, it must have been nice back then to get a regular post from him.
Did you like the Joe-elfing?
Where are you going for vacation? Somewhere warm? Come to Australia, it's lovely right now (well, Melbourne just got 4 days of rain which is freaky but so needed).
Been looking at Fender acoustics on ebay - prolly out of my price range I reckon. Plus I wouldn't know a good one from a dud one anyway. Caught up with my little bro on the weekend and he showed me his GuitarPro (or was it Gearbox) program which has 00's of songs with all the effects, and his LIne 6 thing as well - he is like a kid in a lolly shop.
Hybes - can you give me the step-by-step of what you are doing with your music files? Once all our renovations are finished I want to sort out my PC and use the media centre capability which means ditching itunes I think. Thanks in advance.

ibanezgod-I've got a good " DOH " story for you. This had to be about 15 years ago. I was at home on a Sunday evening just watching tv and decided to walk across the street to the store and get some beer or whatever it was I went to get. I put my shoes on and left, got what I wanted and came home. When I went to take my shoes off I saw that I had a work boot on one foot and a gym shoe on the other. " DOH ". Had a good laugh at myself. So did my freinds who were over.

Well done Alan. Nicely played.
have a wee listen to this man...the very great John Curran. I have had the pleasure of knowing several truly astounding guitarists (Slanshroom who we have all come to know here) and this dude from my hometown of Dundee, Scotland - John Curran. Actually he is more a friend of my best friend Graeme.
This is him playing a Led Zep tune John Curran plays Led Zep
I remember that all the decent guitar players would come to see John and try and copy him and he'd turn his back on them for the difficult stuff. A bit arogant but amazing nonetheless.
Hope you enjoy this

Satriella--I have been enjoying your posts--The geography of women is so funny!
Maritime--Bjork's "Declare Independence" is like nothing else. Ropes in a huge machine to bind workers together--is that what it's like in today's places of employment? Hope you get time off very soon!
Tracie--That handsome young man from Eire fascinates me no end--what a gifted musician. What a charming young man--a chick magnet for sure! Siggghhh!!!! My heart is melting!!
Al McKenna--What more can I say? You have said it all with your pliable guitar that yields to your every touch....I am in heaven and I hear angels singing!!!

Michelle--I always did wonder what Santa does to pass the time when he is at leisure. Thanks for answering my inner question. btw, how are Sully and his buddy doing? What does Sully want for Christmas? Catnip? Toys that tickle his paws? a fishingline toy? I love cats!
SkippyGirl--This week I get my Fender Acoustic! I can't wait to hold it and learn to play. I want a sheepskin cover for it like Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top has for his electric guitars. Guitars deserve to be kept warm and cuddly during the cold months of winter. I may even take mine to bed with me--a kind of teddy bear!! Oooo.....I'm not sure my Steve would allow that--he may get terribly jealous! LMAO!!!
