Glitzy - sounds like you are working alot, you must be knackered - don't know how you can run. I am up again at 5.30am tomorrow trying to become a runner - if it wasn't for the ipod and Joe I would vomit.

Very soon my group of girlfriends and I are choosing a goal for next year - something like a run, half marathon, bush walk, triathlon, don't know yet. Some of the group do ocean swims.

To kick things off next Saturday we are having "Run to the Pub" which is a ripoff of a famous Melbourne event called "Run to the G" where thousands of people run a circuit ending at the MCG stadium.

We will be starting at our local shops, cycling over to the next village where one of our local bars is, then cycling or running back to one of the girls' homes where we finish in the pool to do laps with many glasses of wine. This is the official kickoff to the proper training for the goal next year.

Also re the cold - my failsafe remedy is to drink marsala, or take a plug of wasabe which clears the sinuses in nano-seconds :0)

i am a singer/guitarist and had to write to you via this post...i have been watching the news about your copywrite issue with coldplay...now i am not even a coldplay fan so lets get this out of the way from the start,i don't like there music! my issue with this case is....what if a singer/guitarist is writing a song...and in your situation has been accused of copying it! what if that artist has never been a fan of yours and has heard very little of your work...lets face it,you are well known...but not radio played like u2,coldplay,beatles,acdc...look the list goes on.the point i am making is i could write a song and then some big artist i am no fan of...accuses me of copying a song i may have never heard of! look at the example of british group...the verve.they had a huge hit with "bitter sweet symphony' and got accused by the stones that they copied a song of theres.the verve went to court saying they knew of the song,but never even thought of that song when writing it...and only when they were accused were they aware of it! a few years ago i was writing a song with my band...i had a basic melody and they helped me some parts..i put words to it and thought it was a great song...still do! anyway someone points out that it sounds a little like this particular group...and a certain song.i knew the group...a couple of there songs...but thats all and didn't own any cd's etc...my friend came back to me with this cd... a local band...it was never a hit single...or released as one...it was just an album filler track i had never heard of it! and to my amazement it sounded like my song! so it can happen....as i said i am not a cold play fan...i hate them...i do hear the similarities in these 2 songs...but when coldplay have had countless hit singles and albums and fill stadiums around the world etc...why they would want to pick a track of yours and deliberately steal your melody....look at the romantics...'thats what i like about you" and john melloncamps..."r.o.c.k in the usa" how alike are they???? so yes maybe it could happen...but i feel that these hug bands decide that to make it go away they pay out of court...instead of fighting it...how can you prove in court and recreate how you wrote a song.seems to me the easier thing to do...and if your in the middle of a world tour...it would be more convenient to pay out of court than cancel concerts.you are a great musician...sorry to waste your time...it just got me a little angry after a few other cases over the years etc...and i am not a coldplay fan...just a small fry singer guitarist.just because an artist has a cd released doesn't mean we have all heard every single track that artist has released.only maybe a few singles etc.

Am I the only one,or does anyone else think people should stop arguing about the infamous coldplay v.s. satch case? I figure it`s pointless for anyone but satch himself to draw conclusions. Don`t get me wrong; I say Coldplay sucks doggie-dick... to anyone gathering behind those lying bastards, using this oppurtunity to attack joe& and his music, I say; shame on you! Just because youre envious of joe`s magnificent talent,youre grasping at any chance to speak ill of him...It`s just a little too obvious..youre not fooling anyone here, except maybe yourself..a bit embarrasing, realy.

A stray cat has joined us. Sunday night something got a hold of him the around the neck. The only thing I can think of is a coyote. They don't let go though. Maybe a dog. Hope he makes it.

Another 6 inches of snow last night. Must have 2 feet in the yard now jeesh...

This is all over the news and fans in other forums are posting on this. Hey this happens....one musician gets a song in their head from another and inadvertently writes a song with the tune. There's a youtube comparing the two songs. It happened to the great, late George Harrison - sued over "My Sweet Lord" for stealing it from "He's So Fine" by the Chiffons.

This could put a wrinkle in the grammy nomination for Coldplay I caught the news frenzy in officialfanclub.net yesterday.
