Slan - Perfect pitch. Dunno if this little story will help but it is true. An old colleague of mine used to be a club singer, bit of a pain for him at times 'cause back in the days when we had booze on the ships he was always called upon to have a sing as the evening progressed. Annyhoo, chin wagging away with him one day we got into how come he started singing in clubs and why he packed it in and started working for a living. It turns out that he can sing any song and without thinking about it can manage to sing in perfect pitch, however he never 'made it' as a singer, just didn't have that something that makes someone stand out. So, i'm no expert and I don't pretend to be but it seems to me that mastering perfect pitch is not necessarily the answer but what comes out of a person, be it through an instrument or voice. Could this be where that thing called 'tone' rears it's ugly head? Of course there are always those geniuses who have it all. Lucky bastards! Having said all that, I could be talking complete ballix! Best o' luck in your search.

Satrini Phil....so sorry to hear about your kitty, I hope she's going to be okay very soon...they are family members, even if covered with fur :)

Wicket vids chelle!! U know I love that one, LOL...EEEEEEEeeeennnnnneeeeemmmmmeeeeee.....and if I'd had a different life, woulda wanted to go snowboarding myself, it looks like so much fun!

Cap'n Steve, I think I need to clear something up. Joe's daughter is the one who had the baby...and he's beautiful and perfect and so sweet. Both momma and baby are good and learning life together now.....Chris is kinda separated from the whole thing but thinks it's great that everything turned out well. We don't even live in the same country as momma and baby...but my arms are achin to be there, for sure. My Joe would have been so proud, and so happy to be here with his grandson...that's the heartbreaking part of this, for everyone. But he lives on in the new baby...sweet lil Keagan, and in his daughter.

Milli....I just....don't even know what to say to u....do you take meds for your depression at all? Cuz if not...they might help. I dunno....but u were born a girl and everyone just hasta get over it, accept it and move on, maybe yes?

Hi Joe, hear you've recently been in the studio doing some recording for ChickenfootPA :) Are you excited? How's it going? Anything you can share?

Tomorrow I drive over a really nasty mountain to try to bring Chris home for the week of Christmas....I have a 4-wheel drive jeep and studs on the tires.....god hep us to get there and back without a slide offa dat mountain!! It's a blizzard out there!! Packed snow, ice....*shivers*...to be continued.....

From The Daily Telegraph, December 20th (Aussie time :)

COLDPLAY'S Chris Martin has denied ripping off Joe Satriani's If I Could Fly, but he has admitted stealing from another artist.

Martin has admitted that the band's 2000 single 'Shiver' was essentially a Jeff Buckley rip-off.

The star was speaking on the Chris Moyles Show on BBC Radio 1 when he made the admission.

"It's a blatant Jeff Buckley attempt," he told Moyles. "Not quite as good, that's what I think. We were 21 and he was very much a hero, and as with those things it tends to filter through."

Cappy:It will be interesting t find out how much of the course is bull, i,ll let ya know when i,m done. The idea of being able t distinguish one note from another without going near an instrument i find incredibly appealing.I,ve made it my challenge for the next 5 years t be able t write & score for symphonic orchestra straight rom head as quick as y can snap yer fingers.Honest efficiency gone ballistic.I know what i,m shootin for but no idea how much muck the ball will pick up on its way downhill again. It will be an interesting bumpy ride

GG2:I respect open honesty but whoa girlie did y drink that bottle from the arse up?

on yer eh...addiction get your Thyroid checked out! i,ll let ya in on something personal as your being so honest. My mother had t have part of this gland cut out when i was a kid.She was hyper metabolic & suffered from the same condition as yourself which was wearing my ol man out lol.I believe they use drugs now t stabalize, it also wreeks havoc on natural chemicals in the brain leaving some t be diagnosed bi-polar.Get a check up n good luck

MESSAGE TO THE AUSTRALIAN PUBLIC

The federal government is sending each and every one of us a $1000 bonus.

If we spend that money at K-Mart, the money will go to China.

If we spend it on petrol it will go to the Arabs, if we purchase a computer it will go to Taiwan,

If we purchase fruit and vegetables it will go to Mexico, Honduras, and Guatemala,

If we purchase a good car it will go to Japan,

If we purchase useless crap it will go to Korea and none of it will help the Australian economy.

The only way to keep that money here at home is to spend it on prostitutes and beer, and poker machines since these are the only products still produced in Australia.

Thank you for your help.

Kevin Rudd & Wayne Swan . ( Australian Prime Minister & Australian Treasurer)
