Wow Wroclaw rocked! Would have been great to be there.
Maybe like being at the MCG for a Socceroos World Cup qualifier - 100,000 people screaming for the same team and feeling happy.

punkdude75 - Yeah, I'm REALLY psyched about the next Dream Theater tour. ZPZ will be amazing, but I'm also very excited about Pain Of Salvation and Beardfish. I don't know if you've heard of either of them, but they're well worth checking out.
Listening to: Spacehog - Resident Alien (current song: Candyman)

SURVIVOR ANNOUNCE PLANS FOR NEW STUDIO ALBUM:
from melodicrock
Survivor--Robin McAuley (vocals), Frankie Sullivan (guitar), Marc Droubay (drums), Michael Young (keyboards, guitars) and Billy Ozzello (bass)is currently hard at work at studios in Chicago and Los Angeles on a new studio album which they hope to release by the end of the year.
Singer Robin McAuley joined Survivor in 2006.
Guitarist/founding member Frankie Sullivan knew he was the perfect person to front the band. “When we made the decision to replace Jimi Jamison,” he explained, “I had no idea what we would do. Then it hit me--Robin McAuley! Is he available? How can he possibly be available?! Can I be lucky yet again in my career to work with such a talented singer? Well, the short answer, he was available, we gave him the songs of a set list we would perform, he came to the Windy City and blew our socks off! Robin is a pure pleasure to work with and he's such a great person. With Robin, what you see is what you get. And boy do you get it!”
McAuley continued: “I'm very excited at this opportunity to sing for Survivor. I can only hope the Survivor fans give me a fighting chance. Frankie and I have worked together in the past I am extremely excited to start writing with him again and playing with a great bunch of guys. This new Survivor promises to be full of energy, and with such a stable of awesome tunes to pick from, who knows what each show will bring. I'm ready!”
The band's website is found at www.survivormusic.com for info, photos, sound and video clips, and more.

GPS units:
A couple of weeks ago a friend told me that someone she knew had their car broken into while they were at a football game. Their car was parked on the green which was adjacent to the football stadium and specially allotted to football fans. Things stolen from the car included a garage door remote control, some money and a GPS which had been prominently mounted on the dashboard.
When the victims got home, they found that their house had been ransacked and just about everything worth anything had been stolen.
The thieves had used the GPS to guide them to the house. They then used the garage remote control to open the garage door and gain entry to the house. The thieves knew the owners were at the football game, they knew what time the game was scheduled to finish and so they knew how much time they had to clean out the house. It would appear that they had brought a truck to empty the house of its contents.
CELL PHONEs:
I never thought of this....... This lady has now changed=2 0her habit of how she lists her names on her mobile phone after her handbag was stolen. Her handbag, which contained her cell phone, credit card, wallet... Etc...was stolen.
20 minutes later when she called her hubby, from a pay phone telling him what had happened, hubby says 'I received your text asking about our Pin number and I've replied a little while ago.'
When they rushed down to the bank, the bank staff told them all the money was already withdrawn. The thief had actually used the stolen cell phone to text 'hubby' in the contact list and got hold of the pi n number. Within 20 minutes he had withdrawn all the money from their bank account.
Moral of the lesson:
Do not disclose the relationship between you and the people in your phone contact list. Avoid using names like Home, Honey, Hubby, Sweetheart, Dad, Mom, etc....
And very importantly, when sensitive info is being asked through texts, CONFIRM by calling back.
Also, whe n you're being texted by friends or family to meet them somewhere, be sure to call back to confirm that the message came from them. If you don't reach them, be very careful about going places to meet 'family and friends' who text you.
*PLEASE PASS THIS ON
* I never thought about THAT! As of now, I no longer have 'home' listed on my cell phone
Something to consider if you have a GPS - don't put your home address in it. Put a nearby address (like a store or gas station) so you can still find your way home if you need to, but no one else would know where you live if your GPS were stolen.

True about the cell phone thing. If someone breaks into your car the GPS isn't the only thing that has your address on it. Most people carry their registration with them in their glove compartment which has personal info on it.

Ahhhhh.....There's nothing like Irish Breakfast tea in the morning! The sun is shining and we have a break from the rain until Saturday from what the weather people say. It is still winter!
Al--Yes, please pass the bisquits, scones and strawberry or whatever berry ya have jam! Yum! Mr. McKenna, you are one unique funny young man!
Maritime--My condolences for causing such a proliferation of sexy pictures and guitar porn! LOL! I can't help it if guitars and the music they produce are sexy! It just goes with the landscape or manscape! Lmao! I can tell you like double-breasted guitars! Do guitars have legs? Enough questions for now! LOL!
Cosmic_ape--Thank you....thank you for explaining Joe's guitar tuning with his double-neck guitar. It makes sense to me since I have been taking guitar lessons and reading music again--first time in 36 years! What took me so long?
Joseph---Maybe you will share the stage with Carla Bruni? What do you think--am I just dreaming or is this a real possibility? I would love to see/hear this collaboration.
With all that I am and "You are what you Is"!

Back to geetars... wish I had tried one of THESE when they were around... My 24 fret Roadstar is the only 24 fret guitar I have ever found playable, the rest are too damned tight for my meathooks, including a 24 fret PRS I borrowed for a few weeks.
