GlitzMan: Funny you should meniton swimming, that's my other fav sport. Compliments cycling quite well I find...I must admit, I am thinking about trying running again (haven't run anywhere for ages)...Good idea that 'team triathlon'....Not sure how it would work though, maybe have to meet half way...not sure how that would work either! :) Good luck with the race anyway, why aren't watches allowed? Nice hotel by the way.
deathcube: This is another good one: In your world.

Maritime--The movie "The Dreamers" is available as a rental. It's from about 2 years ago. Btw, I saw "Bliss". Great movie! I like the complex relationships--they defy simplistic thinking! Johnny Cash takes me to a special place ;-).

Cube--Thanks for introducing me to MUSE. Got to see that vid again.

roo---You know what I like about the song, "Professor Satchafunkilus"? The inclusion of ZZ on tenor sax and the feeling I got of a tribute to Frank Zappa with the kind of humorous improvisation--twists and turns gets to me in a most wonderful way! Man, it's jazzy, funky and just plain brill! I love the saxophone!

Al--Your "weh hey(s)" send me into ecstasy!!

Listening to JOURNEY--STONE IN LOVE (my golden girl song!)

hey joe, just messaging to say i think you are one of the most influncial guitarists i have ever heard. the question i have is to ask if you earn a lot from instrumental albums. im trying(and to some extent succeeding) to create my own instrumental album and wondering wether it gives you a boost in cash. either way i still would love to have one released. oh, and good lluck with the coldplay thing.

GG2: You know that I have the perfect place here for you to record that comment

Why do all these satch fans not want to rate songs, add comments about songs and particular performances or venues, and do all that other fun stuff?

What happened to "build it and they will come"?

:(

Morning Satch Fans - how are we all?

Glitzy-baby, run hard in Feb!! I know you will get under the 18 mins. Just repeat after me, out loud

I want to run sub-18 mins
I want to run sub-18 mins
repeat

do this every morning for as many times as you can and you will help yourself to achieve it on the day of the race. It's called neuro-linguistic programming and it works. I used it to help myself to run 2 laps of the oval without stopping :0)

As for the guitar, I am snatching about 15mins a day to practice. I'm practicing 10 open chords and they are getting better. Producing the right sounds for the notes more often too. C is still giving me trouble and F. I'm trying to switch through all 10 chords to develop dexterity and be able to play some songs.

I try to do Joe's practice method of 4 fingers on 4 different strings in 4 different frets and then reverse, then go up the strings and up the neck. It's hilarious.

Cheers all

With the comment link, I didn't test it if you aren't logged in, try logging in to the site then using the link. Or got to the song and use the Add new comment link on that page.

So at the moment I have the star ratings against the song and against the performance, but not the track. I thought it was superfluous to rate the track on the disk, because, for instance, the studio version of a track might appear on 5 cds and a couple of vinyls (album and single) so you can go to the track, then use the performance link to get to the performance and rate that.

I'll put a comment on the track page shortly explaining how to rate it.

And of course, if you want to rate a song, then you go to the song itself, that means if you love "if I could fly" as a song, rate it against the song, then if you love the studio version better than when he played it live on a certain bootleg, then you can rate those performances differently.

I'll have a look and see if I can put the song and performance ratings on the track page as well, so you can rate both from the track...

ibanez_god: Thanks man, much appreciated - building the church was on a G3 DVD. I've included some other tracks in the site because Joe is on the same cds/dvds.

I've also got the song and performance ratings onto the track pages, that makes things a lot easier.
