Hey, I just thought of something missing on my site.

I have all the songs with their own page and thought I should add Joe's comments on each song. Can everyone help me with this one? I did a quick search and found a few, but I know there are stories scattered all over the place with the explanation behind many of his songs, like If I could fly for instance, when he started writing it, the process, the recording, etc.

Can everyone just keep it in mind and when you come across an interview or story or discussion with Joe, copy paste here or in an email and I'll document them all. Even better, go to the song on my site and just add the url or the copy-paste of the info as a comment directly to the song.

I know Joe likes that people can make the song fit their meanings as well, but this will be tagged on the songs, so if people want to dig down to that level, they can do so to see Joe's history and thoughts/feelings on each one.

Thanks for any help, Roo

Here's an example:

If I Could Fly

Please help me with this everyone, it'll be much quicker if we all chip in a little.

I have already been lifting the explanations of songs from albums that included them, I am more interested in the obscure ones, like driving at night, the snake, power cosmic, etc...

Here's some more I already have:

Slick

Crushing Day

Ice 9

Help me with:

Gnaahh

Andulasia

And others....

Tonight, I'll add a flag to the Song index so you can easily see which songs still need history/explanation...

Thanks... Roo

PS. Joe, feel free to chime in if there's a few songs you've never explained publicly before.

js1200js1000: best Dog picks I'm gonna post are here

I think mines pretty unique, all others I've seen have the blue squiggle above the trem cavity, mine is the only one I've seen that doesn't.

Confirmed - they are definitely NOT numbered.

That's why I was excited to find mine as it's so unique.

Firstly it doesn't have the blue squiggle, which I've seen on all others, and secondly because I had it a full month before they were shipped around the world (from a guitar show) and got a letter from HoshinoGakki congratulating me on the find (and have the case and certificate as well). Any other blackdog seems to be indestinguishable from each other as far as I can tell.

Roo

The serial number plates are only used to identify them and match to the certificates.

I've seen one on ebay that had a serial number well below mine, by a big margin. The serial number links it to the certificate, for authentication, but other than that you cannot tell them apart.

As a respected Ibanez authority told me, you cannot determine production order from serial number, they have a stack of plates they grab from and they don't run each guitar through from start to finish in a first in first out basis, so the last off the line might end up with the first of the plates in that step. The only thing that really makes #1 special in a numbered series is the fact it got labelled #1.

Come on, I can't give away all my secrets can I? :)

If you want something cool, try Rich, he's regularly having stuff through, and I bought my JS2KPLT off ebay last year for a good price. I've seen at least 4 or 5 each of PLTs and 10ths on ebay in the last 6 months.

Rich - Ibanez Rules

I almost bought a black JS1 off him recently, I think he's still got at least one as far as I know.

dream3:- I think Yngwie(Whingy!!!) Malmsteen's entire tour in Oz must have been enough to make him angry. We saw him at the Enmore Theater in Sydney the night before Melbourne and there were some dramas onstage that night ,too.Don't get me wrong, though,I think he had every right to be pissed off.At least at the Sydney show. Some of the stage crew must've been tired coz someone knocked over the canister for the smoke machine and they had to run around like madmen mopping up litres of fluid. There were problems with his amps, his roadie distracted him changing a pick holder just as he was reaching for a fresh pick.If looks could kill!!! He still played like a demon, though. And i finally got to see the little fecker do what he does in the flesh!!!! C'MON AUSSIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

why does the new 25th anniversary Surfing with an Alien CD have the printing of another cd on the inside booklet?

Anybody have a cd with the same problem?

The outside of the booklet it normall, but the inside has words and credits to another persons CD. And even lists another person as the guitarist.

This is a major mistake in printing. Did all of the CD's come out like that?

Thanks, Roo

Goldengirl - Get off the fluffy cloud, pick up the phone and go for it!!!!!!!!

Igneousiceman - Now...ya see....I never could get my head round why anyone would want to go somewhere to be shouted at...ie any of the forces? I mean its not nice is it?

when my boss shouted at mebefore christmas, I was crying for the rest of the day....its just an awful thing to do to someone...or to receive...so why go somewhere where you know you are going to get it?

-------------

If you ever have a difficult situation to manage, you might consider the approach offered by this obviously well trained Customer Service Officer.

Indeed, an award should go to the Virgin Airlines gate attendant in Sydney some months ago for being smart and funny, and making her point, when confronted with a passenger who probably deserved to fly as cargo.

--------------------------------------

A crowded Virgin flight was cancelled after Virgin's 767's had been withdrawn from service. A single attendant was re-booking a long line of inconvenienced travellers.

Suddenly an angry passenger pushed his way to the desk. He slapped his ticket down on the counter and said, "I HAVE to be on this flight and it HAS to be FIRST CLASS!"

The attendant replied, "I'm sorry sir, I'll be happy to try to help you, but I've to help these people first, and I'm sure we'll be able to work something out".

The passenger was unimpressed. He asked loudly, so that the passengers behind him could hear, "DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHO I AM?"

Without hesitating, the attendant smiled and grabbed her public address microphone: "May I have your attention please," she began - her voice heard clearly throughout the terminal. "We have a passenger here at Gate 14 WHO DOES NOT KNOW WHO HE IS. If anyone can help him find his identity, please come to gate 14".

With folks behind him in line laughing hysterically, the man glared at the Virgin attendant, gritted his teeth and said, "Fuck You!".

Without flinching, she smiled and said, 'I'm sorry, sir, but you'll have to get in line for that too."

Hugs Satriella xx
