AWESOME!

I found a co-worker with headphones and I was able to listen on my dinner break. I like Soap On A Rope more, but Down The Drain is the one that's stuck in my head right now...

I'll have more in-depth comments later tonight. But for now, I love this stuff! :-)

Mc Alan--You are still my favorite luni and you play amazing guitar! I like yer purple one--royalty I guess ;-)

Chee--I don't doubt Joe has something planned for yer birthday 'cause you are such a great fan!

CHICKEN FOOT---Wow! Sammy, Joe, Mike and Chad--what a great super-sonic band! I like "down the drain" because it sounds so here and now.........I also like "soap on a rope" because of the Sammy factor. It reminds me of Sammy's Van Halen!! Joe's guitar gives me goose bumps and sounds so strong and warm!

Happy B Day everybody who HAS a B day!!...I just got home from a long day of work , poped open the CHICKENFOOT email.....And I STILL cannot wipe the smile from my face........Joe ...what an incredible sound!!....THIS is gonna be big folks!!

I think I like Soap on a Rope best...but it is hard to choose.....Man...I'll have to take 3 Tylenol PMs to go to sleep after that...I am PUMPED BABY!!

SCUBADAZ...I agree with you about Summer Song. Just last week I got into listening to Summer Song over and over in my Tundra,...I am sure I will wear the little arrows off my back up button listening to the solo. But for 2-3 weeks prior I was listening to the solo in "Mindstorm". This week I had Crystal Planet with me. My grandson 2 and a half yrs. loves the title track. He is also fond of "Time"

Goodnight all!!...It's a wonderful life!!...CHICKEN FOOT...YEAH BABY!!

Chickenfoot tracks - have got some bad ass guitar tone on them. Loving that. I hope some of the songs don't have guitar solo's as such, and I'm guessing on maybe a keyboard based tune, with the keys tinkled by Joseph?

Both tracks rock in their own way : )

Cheese - blimey, quite the secret squirrel guitar collector then. So I guess they would be tucked away with your nuts..... never too old to learn something new. Go for piano, then we can all have a drunken sing song in a bar for Chicken PA. Oh, and if it's chicken related it has to be a gaggle

BTW - did someone say something about 50th birthday?
It was so subtle me an every one else might have missed it ; )

Wishing you a lovely day, and some cool gifts.

Scubadaz - it's on my list of things to do for sure. Maldives huh, would you recommend anywhere in particular to stay? That JS on ebay looks genuine to me, it's chrome hardware just bad photo. Check the others, they show chrome. However, the low price etc does make me think it needs some work....

Igneous - yeah, I'll have to look into the turbo, just not sure what a good make is and what features I should be looking for, or a price for that matter. Fixed the bike up tonight and went off for my first ride of the year to attack some hills - stupido! Legs of jelly now

Do The Stu - I have that guitars that rule the world... on cassette.. had some cool toons on it. "I understand completely" is a fave. Man you catch a lot of good shows, Sammy gig sounds cool.

Glitzy - hey man, nothing new really. Bit of alround training, and listening to chicken foot tracks : )

Blue Moon - Al, ditto re hearing the same encores, but it's still cool to be seeing the man live regardless. What was the response from NASA? I'm guessing something like "hang on that's great and all, but you've had 39 years to work on it.... and they couldn't hold their breath that long"

Skippy - who is super shagged, and did he or she mind you feeling them after 11pm?

Slansh - wet paper snow ball thing... priceless. Felt a little cruel but I got back to sleep so thanks for the tip

Cosmic - If I Could Fly with a chris martin intro... LMFAO, that would be FAF but like you say, not in Joe's nature.

Cube - PMSL, Wylde stallions. It's almost 3am and I think everyones awake now I laughed so loud. Excellent

Message from Cappy

Please extend my thanks to all the good peeps who offered prayers and goodvibes for my better half and myself. For a cynical old salt I'm quite touched. (Some have always said I'm a bit touched LOL).Seriously though, many thanks to the wonderful folks on T2J.Thanks also to the maestro for drawing us to him and his work.... and thanks of course to Slan the man for being a pal

Soap On A Rope:
This is my favorite of the two songs...I think it sounds a bit faster than the clip we've heard, but maybe it's just me. But I like it more this way. And it's acronym is SOAR...how cool is that? :-)

I like Joe's first solo here, with the ascending riff...it sounds very Aerosmith-like to me. And then the second solo sounds similar to Joe when he plays with his teeth at G3 gigs...I wonder if he's doing that here. ;-)

Mikey's backing vocals sound great here, and the chorus sounds like it's straight out of Van Halen (I'd say it rivals the best of the DLR-era stuff).

Joe's outro riff is great...the style reminds me of the riff at the end of Jump. And then the way the vocals come back in remind me of Runaround.

I don't like the drum SOUND here, but I hope that's just a result of the low quality of the streaming audio. I love Chad's playing...the style is very Bonham-ish, but tight, and I dig the bass drum fills.

Down The Drain:
I think it's interesting that the intro here is the same as the teaser...I thought that would've just been a rough demo cut. It's nice to hear it in a song though.

This song sounds to me like a cross between Van Halen's Up For Breakfast (Sammy even mentions that phrase in the lyrics) and Joe's Just Like Lightnin', with a bit of Hill Groove thrown for good measure.

I like how this song builds up to something, but I don't think it gets there fast enough...and then when it finally does change, I think it's too drastic.

Mikey stretches out a bit here, which he doesn't do often, and I like how Joe finds room for his guitar between Sammy's vocal lines during the vocals without being overwhelming.

The chords at 2:49 remind me of something, but I can't place it. Does anyone else know what I might be thinking of? I want to say it reminds me of the band Live, but I don't know...

I like the guitar solo here, but I think I might like the drums in the background a bit more...

The songs in general:
Joe's playing in general sounds a lot like what he does during the G3 jams. It's not my favorite aspect of his playing, but it is very fun and I think he does a great job with it here...I love it.

Some of Sammy's vocal lines seem a bit awkward to me (I'm sure they'll grow on me after I hear the album as a whole), but other parts of the songs sound like he's been singing them comfortably for 25 years...and that's way cool.

Anyway, everyone, which song is your favorite? (webmaster - Maybe you can set up a quick poll on the site here?)

scubadaz - Haha...we're not ranting just because you like Summer Song. I like it too...it's just something to talk about. ;-)
cheese101 - Happy birthday! You are now twice my age...congratulations (until I turn 26 in two months). ;-)

::runs away before you can sock me::

Pip Satriani - Weekend? Ha! I was off Wednesday and Thursday, which means Friday was my Monday. This isn't a weekend... ;-)
jblaze1 - "Wow,I am wayyyyy behind the times.I just picked up Satchafunkilus."

Yeah, you are...Joe is in a new band and everything!

I love PSATMOR too, though...what are some of your favorites from it?

slanshroom - Thanks for the update!
Listening to: Chickenfoot - Down The Drain

I've been waiting a long time to be able to put that here. :-)

...Austin...
