So as I got on my computer this morning I opened up iTunes, out of habit. I'm ashamed that I thought, even for split second, that I'd listen to something OTHER than Chickenfoot...haha.

Ethn Hayabusa - The "What is your purpose?" greeting bugs me a bit now too. Every now and then when things get slow at work, I'll check T2J for a bit...I'm worried that one of these times I'll forget to make sure my speakers are turned off, and everyone will give me a funny look.
ibanezguitars - "What can I say after Stu's analysis ?"

Argh... ;-) My intention was to spark further conversation, not limit it. I hope I didn't leave people with nothing to say...

ma5t - Some other people here have said that jam reminds them of what Joe used to do at the end of Always... While I agree that it sounds similar, it seems pretty natural here and not like Joe said "Oh, I know what we can tack on to ending." I like it.

I never thought of the SBM comparison, but I can kind of hear it...

cheese101 - That's my favorite Stuuu video...I love that piece of Madonna's Like A Virgin that he plays at the end. Haha!

That Chickenfoot video makes me sad...I was off work that night! Oh well...if we had only known...

I like that song though, from what I can tell...maybe more than the two we've heard.

jblaze1 - Nice... Out Of The Sunrise is my favorite from the album, and a lot of other people here like it too. I love Asik Veysel and Andalusia too, but those seem to be a bit more hit and miss with T2Jers...

The Chickenfoot album will be out soon...please don't wait a year to listen to it like you did with PSATMOR. ;-)

gotta have Joe - Very cool...(early) congrats on graduating!
soulmates81 - I hear quite a bit of Led Zeppelin in Chickenfoot, especially in Chad's drums. It'd be early Zep though (I and II), before they branched out a bit.
Listening to: Chickenfoot - Down The Drain

So I've done some digging and it looks like the Chickenfoot show was a private gig for Best Buy. Here's a video I found:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HZWr5th18_4

You can see a Chickenfoot t-shirt at the beginning, as well as a promo CD. I did a freeze frame and it looks like it has the two tracks we've heard. If you're a collector, I guess you can start looking for these to show up on Ebay. ;-)

In addition to the clip at the beginning, there's some live Chickenfoot from 2:45 to 3:10. The rest of the video looks like it's just Best Buy stuff and a crazy talking dog puppet.

Austin..I thought your Chickenfoot analysis was very thorough, You should think about writing as a musical critic. I am still forming my opinion on sound comparison.

If you notice Eddies playing style changed a bit when he switched to writing for Sammy's melodic style...Leaving mediocre guitarists aside, and there are as you know, mediocre players in the biz,..any exceptional guitarist with even close to the modal knowledge of Eddie and Joe will change a bit when when interaction between themselves and another musicians writing and/or melodic and vocal style...I think this is where some of the comparisons of this band's sound to Van Halen,.. throw in Sammy and Mike's vocal harmonies and it does sound some like "Van Hagar"..which can't be a bad thing.

I think Joe has adapted well. I mean this is a big transition for Joe. I love his tone on this material.

Who is doing the production on this new album? I think I missed that info.

PLAYERS...When I moved to my RG, I had to change to a thin pick. I used Fender mediums. I like the full sized picks, but am wanting to possibly switch maybe to another brand...What are your suggestions?

I hope everyone is having a great weekend so far!! It rained me out so I get a rest today.

Steve, try out some Dunlop Tortex picks. I prefer the Orange(.60mm) myself. In case that scares you, Paul Gilbert uses them too(copy cat).

Joe's picks in medium gauge is about a yellow tortex. I like the feel of that too. It's little smoother to the touch than the tortex.

jblaze, back to those MD crab cakes, huh? Florida was hot, but not? What happened? Anyways, four seasons are better than hot and "chilly". lol! WB!

GG2, there are McKenna's everywhere! Funny thing is, the manager where I work has the last name Kenna, and I always have to think for a second before I say his name out loud cause that feckin MC comes before it 9 out of 10 times! Even though they're everywhere, there's only one AL.

Congrats to Ireland for whatever the hell they won today.

About 2 hours away, why?

edit: you can always tell when the NASCAR races are at the Poconos or Dover. Tons of guys around here have a nasty sunburn on their face, but racoon eyes from their sunglasses. It looks funny as hell.

What distortion pedal was used for this recording? Did you use the satcherator with the new jsx50?
