Oooooooo Maritime--What's goin' on? First ya post a guitarist in San Diego (Balboa Park) playin' guitar with his feet that takes more skill than I'll ever have. THEN... you send us great interview and pictures of Steve Vai--a guy who has a slender figure like my nephew Blaze! And was that you who posted Jeff Campitelli vids? Dang, he's so attractive, handsome, and a great drummer as well!!! NOW you say that we all voted for GWBush? Uneffing believable! I wouldn't have voted for him if he was the last person in the world!

Man, didn't ya see the news of President Obama meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper? Didn't ya hear about Canadians greeting his arrival in Ottawa by singing Bob Marley's reggae classic "One Love" and chanting "Yes We Can"?? Hurray for Canada and their fiscal responsibility and the World Economic Forum ranked Canada's banking system as the healthiest in the world in 2008! How about their gentle chiding of the USA for our governments horrible mistakes and missteps! How about the PM's admonishment of President Obama regarding the USA thinking it can go alone in a community world?!! Well, Canada and the rest of the world, This President Obama is not the old stick in the mud that Bush was and he has a vision to be a member of a world community in which we learn from each other and join the International Criminal Court accountability community. We are not just individual WE ARE ALSO COLLECTIVE!!

ALL T2Jers---We may be the USA, but we are also world citizens just like you!!

Michelle and Tracie--I hope this rant helps.

Alan Mc--You have email!! And I know what it's like to wonder if I was old enough at 25 years to get married!! I doubted for so long and Steve M wouldn't take NO for an answer and I knew ultimately that he was THE ONE for me! I heard that in Ireland, ya have to prove yerself sometimes until you are 30 before ya can get married--have a stable job and have a house. Is this true?

i use DKF samples into reason then from reason its rewired into pro tools as insturment tracks, saves some resources from pro tools instead of having .wavs as drum bits...

a normal session for me in PT is 300k of computer resources, its nuts

ill rpob get easy drummer and plug it into pt, seems cool, i think a friend has it

I don't mean to drag this out, and this isn't directed at anyone in particular, but while it's true that the entire country didn't vote for Bush in 2000/2004 it's also true that the entire country didn't vote for Obama in 2008. Sweeping generalizations are bad on both sides. Yes, Bush may have made some mistakes, but that doesn't make every idea Obama has is the perfect solution. For what it's worth...

cosmic_ape - So, did you survive the craziness that is the Oscars? ;-)
michelle - Thanks for posting those two videos. You have excellent timing...I was looking for one of those the other night, but I couldn't remember the name of the guitarist or the song. So thanks...!
GoldenGirl2 - You know, I wouldn't be surprised if we have to wait until late summer or fall for Satch's Paris DVD. I can see it being planned to hold people over while Joe's doing his Chickenfoot thing (for the segment of his fanbase that just can't get into that project)...
cheese101 - Wow...Chris is turning 21? That's how old I was when the three of us went to those ITLIS? shows in Anaheim and Ventura in 2005. That makes me feel old...thanks. Haha...
dream3 - It's cool to hear that you're digging the Chickenfoot video. I recorded the last 17 seconds (the new clip) on my computer and I've been listening to that over and over lately...I love it.
Jelvani - I don't know what specific sound you're asking about, but I bet the answer you're looking for lies in the DigiTech whammy pedal.
Listening to: Lotus - Germination (current song: Nematode)

Has anyone heard of this band? They do some really cool instrumental music...there's a big funk/electronica influence in their sound, but they don't forget about melody and they jam so I think a lot of fans of Satch and related music would like them. Check out their page on Wikipedia if you want to learn more...

...Austin...

The benefits of being a senior citizen...

1. Kidnappers are not very interested in you.

2. In a hostage situation you are likely to be released first.

3. No one expects you to run into a burning building

4. People call at 9 PM and ask, "Did I wake you?"

5. People no longer view you as a hypochondriac.

6. There is nothing left to learn the hard way.

7. Things you buy now won't wear out.

8. You can eat dinner at 4 PM.

9. You can live without sex but not without glasses.

10. You enjoy hearing arguments about pension plans.

11. You have a party and the neighbors don't even realize it.

12. You no longer think of speed limits as a challenge.

13. You quit trying to hold your stomach in, no matter who walks into the room.

14. You sing along with elevator music.

15. Your eyes won't get much worse.

16. Your investment in health insurance is finally beginning to pay off.

17. Your joints are a more accurate meteorologist than the national weather service.

18. Your secrets are safe with your friends because they can't remember them either.

19. Your supply of brain cells is finally down to a manageable size.

20. You can't remember who sent you this list.

SIGNS OF MENOPAUSE

1. You sell your home heating system at a yard sale.

2. Your husband jokes that instead of buying a wood stove, he is using you to heat the family room this winter. Rather than just saying you are not amused, you shoot him.

3. You have to write post-it notes with your kids' names on them.

4. The phenobarbital dose that wiped out the Heaven's Gate Cult gave you four hours of decent rest.

5. You change your underwear after every sneeze.

6. You're on so much estrogen that you take your Brownie troop on a field trip to Chippendale's.

SIGNS OF WEAR

"OLD" IS WHEN... Your sweetie says, "Let's go upstairs and make love, " and you answer, "Pick one, I can't do both!"

"OLD" IS WHEN... Your friends compliment you on your new alligator shoes but you're barefoot.

"OLD" IS WHEN... A sexy babe catches your fancy and your pacemaker opens the garage door.

"OLD" IS WHEN... Going bra-less pulls all the wrinkles out of your face.

"OLD" IS WHEN... You don't care where your spouse goes, just as long as you don't have to go along.

"OLD" IS WHEN... You are cautioned to slow down by the doctor instead of by the police.

"OLD" IS WHEN... "Getting a little action" means I don't need to take any fiber today.

"OLD" IS WHEN... "Getting lucky" means you find your car in the parking lot.

"OLD" IS WHEN... An "all-nighter" means not getting up to pee.

Ahhhh, I see....it's fun to be an ass. Good to know. Reminds me to skip posts in the future. Great lesson!

Yep Austin, 21 on Friday and he can't wait!! I thought you were like, 22 or 23 when we saw you in southern Cali...how time flies eh?

Chris lives 2 hours away from me, and I can feel him vibrating all the way over here about coming home this weekend and having his birthday. I don't think it's the actual number, 21, that makes the difference, it's just the idea of PREZZIES!! lol! Although what a relief, cuz now there's no age restrictions for him on any Joe-shows :) Gee, now all he needs is monies, lol!

Fecking Monday would be so much nicer if we had some nice news to go with it, like a Paris DVD release date...or more Chick-fillet updates.....

Maritime--No country is perfect, but Canada comes very close! That's why I had a dream to visit in July 1981, when Steve and I got married, but being of very modest means, we took our honeymoom in Monterey County (stayed in Cali). Sigh! We all have to make sacrifices. Please speak for your own country. What's special about the Netherlands that sets it apart from the USA or any other country?

Blue_Moon--Man, Ireland is sooo tight on you! My best friend in the middle of high school (who is my unofficial brother) turned out to be gay (so what!). Here is unconditional love! I didn't vote for that stupid Prop. 8 here in Cali! Why can't two adults get married no matter what their gender? Silliness seems to be the order of the day.....If I were Queen or President, common sense and truth would be the order of everyday! You are no less a citizen of this world than anyone else. My intuition tells me that we are all special, we just need to be awake to it. Thanks for Postal Service vids!

Cube--Thanks for the info. Life is complicated and precious!

Michelle and Tracie--The persona of Joe Satriani shows only a small portion of what lies beneath the surface. Genuine genius! You are so right. We have much to look forward to, don't we!

Tracie--My Steve and I have never been to Oregon. It would be so cool to visit you. Would you like visitor?

Hi! This message is for Joe. The sustain you got when you recorded G3 with Eric Johnson: Was it the Tone Bone, A Sustainiac? I really need to know cos I have to buy something that does that kind of thing soon and I don't want to go the wrong way. The smoothness of tone that you get when you played: Is that eq or the kind of amp and fx processing that you used, or mic placement? I always seem to get a little too much pick attack with my lead sound. I know you use a legato approach but besides that, any tips?

ALSO: I first heard "Always with Me Always with You" when I was about 15 yrs old and got the old epiphany shakes and wound up in deep prayer with God, thanking Him that I got to hear those wonderful passages and harmonies, in the context of radio airplay, super-inundated with Jason Donovan and Kylie Minogue. All my friends thought I was weird, of course, coming from where I do. Thank you for making my soul happy for decades later... I'm always moved by your playing and I'm sure you've helped the industry so much, holistically, that just hearing it on the radio a few times, could help many, many people to help others. I've managed to do charitable work that would otherwise have not been possible because of your influence, so you've not only helped me but the poor as well. God bless you with the best reward!
