Jamie - glad your friend turned up. My sister-in-law's friend died at St Andrews, and a girl at my daughter's school, 12 years old, lost her entire family and house, I don't know how she survived but she is apparently injured, the school community will gather round and help any way we can.

Hey everyone,
The run went well. There were over 250 runners in this run. I think I came in the top 15. This was a prediction time. I predicted 19 minutes and I had 18 minutes and 47 seconds, which is good for the first run of this year. I even made the front page of our local newspaper today, as well as online at runindiana.com (I'm the one wearing tye-dye). Check it out!!!
Next race will be this Saturday, which is another 5K. This race is also my first points race. Wish me luck on this points race.
Happy "Belated" Birthday Stu Hamm. It was also the same day as my Dad's Birthday and he turned 50 yesterday. I gave him a card and Tony Dungy's new book, which I got it autographed.
Ozzy_Fudd, thank you for the update on what is happening down under. I am overwhelmed with all those fires in Australia. I can't believe so many people died. Prayers to all of them and I hope this ends soon. STAY STRONG MY AUSSIE FRIENDS!!! Those fires are heartbreaking in Australia and in Southern California Cosmic Ape.
Now for the Grammys: Coldplay getting Song of the Year was disappointing, as well as getting two other Grammys. Those were some outfits they were wearing. I think the best moment of the night was Jennifer Hudson performing, since the death of her family. Great performance by her and winning a Grammy. I just couldn't believe how many people did videos of themselves singing "I Kissed A Girl", by Katy Perry, while she performed.
Michelle: I agree with you on the Grammys. Jennifer Hudson did an outstanding performance. I also saw all of 60 minutes about the pilot. He's a hero in my book.
GoldenGirl2: I hope things are gonig with you and your husband. How's the guitar playing and practice going? Did you get any rain?
Skippygirl: Well, one down and a lot of races to go. My next one is this Saturday. How's your guitar playing going? It is sad for you people down there with those terrible fires. I hope those destructions end soon. By the way, check me out online at runindiana.com. I'm wearing tye-dye so you will see a picture of me.
Fatape: A lot of my friends ask me about the Olympics. I am not even close of matching up with the top runners of the world, especially the U.S.A. Their times are way faster than mine. How are you holding up down there wtih all of those wildfires? Prayers to you my Aussie friend.
Satriella: We (Tony Dungy, his agents, and I) did say hi and that was about it. The workers at the bookstore wanted to keep the line moving fast so people can get the books signed. Anyway, Tony was on a big time-schedule/crunch, because he had to go other places to sign books and do some guest speaking at some high schools here in Fort Wayne. I'm just glad to see him and to get some of his books signed.
SuperDaveMcCarthy: How's life treating you these days?
Ibanezplyr: Yo Randell! Hope that foot of yours heals up from those infections soon.
Blue_Moon: Good luck on your driving test Al. You're gonna do well and pass.
Igneousiceman: Hey what's up!? My running events has officially started. How are things going with you.
Hybes: Mark, I did see Coldplay's performance of "Viva La Vida" and I think Chris Martin is just trying to steal the show from all the other performers and stars, thinking he is the hot shot out of everybody
js1200js1000: Hey, how's it going with you up there? I have not chatted with you in quite some while. Hope you are doing well.
Pip Satrini: Phil, great to hear from you. Prayers to you man. How are things going with you over in the UK?
Do The Stu: Hey Austin! Great to hear from you. Wow, you had an eventful month. I hope you are staying healthy. I need to because of my races. I hope life is treating you well. Keep in touch, bro!!!
Well, I better stop right here. I got a few things to do before work tomorrow. Stay in touch everyone and I'll let you know what is happening with me, especially my running. Bye!

Skippy so so Sorry to hear that :(
It's absolutely horrific readin that brought a tear to my eye Skippy cause the image that has stuck in my head all along so far is that poor little boy in the backseat of the car just crying covered in black smoke and dirt i wish they would stop showin it.
But the sad thing is that poor little boy is going to be 1 of hundreds if not thousands of people who's lives have just been shattered :( :( :(
Prayers and thoughts with all.

Hey Joe, just wanna say that I think you are amazing and I love all of your songs espically Satch Boogie and If I Could Fly. By the way, I think it was a good idea that you sued Coldplay because I think that they did copy your song If I Could Fly. anyway, you are totally amazing and Rock On!!!!!
Peace, John

Glitzman:Thanks Glitzman! Slow and steady win the race. Well...maybe not slow. I do wish that Virtuoso guitar players had a better rep at the grammys, but what do they know. We should have our own "Virtuoso Awards" here right Jon Lunni? I know that would be a who's who! Just the fact that these artists have stuff on line is a teatament to their effectiveness! Yea baby! I'm thinking of making a guitar of mine into a semi by adding a sheetmetal "box" to a rebuilt soild body. Maybe. Randell Thanks to any t2jers who check out my facebook page. have fun out there!

Hi Joe-
You probably have already heard this since the Grammy Awards but congratulations on the grammy awards you won by with the song Coldplay stole from you. I think there is enough publicity about it that most people believe you wrote the song. It is very unfortunate about the whole incident and that it had to go to court. Good luck with the lawsuit.
Also, are you looking at touring in the Midwest again soon?

A cool promo for the Satch Zone....
Wish I played guitar, I'd subscribe to it for sure!!
Alan, pretty nice for just throwing something together at the last minute :)
Edit, had to fix the link cuz Mckenna distracted meh....
AND I also saw Coldplay do Viva last night at the Grammys and I thought two things....
One, that it felt and sounded like Chris changed up the song just to try to make it sound a little bit less like the melody from Joe's song...and two....
If you call that dancing then I should be a hit on stage!! It honestly looked more like Chris was a puppet on strings and really didn't know WHAT to do with himself at all....he looked very awkward and gangly and decidedly not graceful. It was rather uncomfortable to see.
OH, edit #2... Stu at Namm, nice vid

YIPEE....I finally got an email from Jeff Bowders to say he got my portrait...he loves it and is going to frame it and put it up on his wall!!!
YAY!
Ibanezguitars - Welcome back....good to see you ... understand being busy busy busy....I am doing very well thank you....i was showing someone some photos from my computer the other day.....is it your other half that is called Rubina?
Glitzman - Oh what a shame....I know what you mean....thats what happended at the guitar show for me...I queued for ages to see Joe and although it was nice because I was standing next to another talk to Joer and we had a good ol chat...and Stu and Jeff came over for a hug and a photo and to thank me for the presents and Mick came over and said Hi...by the time I got to Joe, mick was hurrying him up coz he had gone over time and I didn't get time for a photo...just a quick signature and a "Hi Satriella" from Joe...I was quite gutted because I had ummed and arred about it anyway because while I was in the queue I was missing Yngwie Malmsteen in the other room playing!...Although i did catch the last tune in the end...so it was ok.
pip Satrini - if you fancy a change...why not go the whole hog and do it by deed pole...its good fun! lol
Hugs Satriella xx

MR. BIG - THE OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE:
Finally confirming the rumors that have been circulating the internet for weeks, all four original members of the popular 90's rock supergroup, Mr. Big, are taking to the stage together for the first time in 13 years for a reunion tour of Japan.
The Japanese run will bring back the magic of the original chart-busting foursome: vocalist / frontman Eric Martin, Paul Gilbert, guitar, Billy Sheehan, bass, and Pat Torpey, drums.
The tour takes off in Sapporo on June 5 and culminates June 20 in Tokyo with a feature concert at Budokanthe famous Japanese venue known for its rich history of legendary performances by rock's elite. The band will record a live CD / DVD during the Budokan show that will also mark the band's 20 year anniversary!
Formed in 1988, Mr. Big forged its place in hard rock history combining trademark "shredding" mucicianship with awesome vocal harmonies and signed a record deal in 1989 with Atlantic Records.
The self-titled album. Mr. Big, received critical and commercial success in the US and Japan but it was the band's second album, Lean Into It, that provided the major breakthrough. Lean Into It, featured two ballads that established the band as a commercial success, To Be With You and Just Take My Heart, propelling the band the band to huge international success and record sales in the multi-millions.
Gilbert left the band in 1996 to pursue a solo career and the original members had not shared a stage together until late 2008 at Gilbert solo show at the House of Blues in Los Angeles. Paul was joined onstage by Sheehan and Torpey to perform a couple of covers songs and the three had such a good time together, they contacted Martin a few days later and the reunion was put into motion.
While no concert dates beyond Japan have been announced as yet, the band is looking at possible dates in Southeast Asia and America later in the year.

Dear Joe,
I'm sorry to say that I unfortunately wasn't familiar with your music before I heard about the suit with Coldplay (although after hearing some of your songs, I'm glad I know about you now! Seriously, fantastic stuff!) I heard about the suit because I was heading to law school to study copyright and intellectual property when I fell ill and wasn't able to go. I'm now stuck in bed cause of this stupid disease, so I have way too much time on my hands to read about lawsuits, brush up on what I'm missing out on from law school, and listen to way too much music to fill up all the downtime. :)
So when I heard about your lawsuit, I was eager to check out the two songs and compare them for myself. I used to be a Coldplay fan way back when, until I felt like they just kept dishing out songs that sounded exactly the same. By the time 'Viva La Vida' came out, I was so done with them I hadn't even really heard the song yet. Now it seems like the only way they could stop from dishing out the same old drivel, they had to copy someone else to find a new sound! How pathetic.
When I compared your song with theirs, however, not only did I think yours was better, but theirs was about as close of a copy as possible short of just flat out producing a cover. I mean, holy crap, I'm no music expert, but even I could hear it! The more I talked to friends who have gone to school for music theory and stuff like that, the more I realized just how similar the two songs are, not just to the naked ear but on a note by note, chord by chord basis.
So although I can't comment with any musical expertise, I can comment with at least a little bit of knowledge of how copyright and intellectual property laws work. And I must say, from where I'm sitting, this is an absolute open and shut case. You were right to bring this suit, no matter what the recording industry or rabid Coldplay fans say about it. This was your opus, your baby, your song, and they flat out stole it. You have every right to protect what's yours.
Anyway, I signed up here on your website just to let you know that this has at least brought you some new fans, and I'm one of them. And also, I may not be a copyright attorney yet, but I know some of the best in the business, including more than half the faculty at Stanford Law. If there's anything - *anything* - I can do, please do let me know. I'd be happy to help in any way I can, although I'm sure you're already more than covered. But still, it never hurts to know you have friends out there to back you up, right? :)
Keep up the great work, don't lose hope, and know that there are lots of people out here rooting for you.
Sincerely,
Heather
Washington, DC
