@ hybes: I have (well, my lad has) a PS3 for Blue Ray vids. It seems to do a cracking job. Better than many stand-alone BR players, cheaper too, oh, and I've heard you can also play games with it! Any favorite moments from the show?

loll - I have a PS3 that I watch BD on also. Best Blue Ray for the money hands down! Plus you get all the firmware updates. I don't know if I have a favorite moment. It's a very straight forward show. Andy Summers does a couple of good solos that you never get to hear on a a record. Kind of made me appreciate his guitar skills a little more. I always knew he was good, but he doesn't solo on their records. Stewart Copeland was AMAZING!! Before I started playing guitar, I played drums for many many years and he was one of my child hood heroes!! I really enjoyed Copeland working on a xylophone and all the verious little cymbals and timpani. It was just a great show. Oh ya, Sting had some GREAT combat boots straight out of 1978. He really tried to keep the punk look a little bit.
Ozzy - Happy Bday this weekend. Good to know I'm no the only one that part of the over 40 gang.

This was an excerpt from the Jam Base site about Joe playing with Particle.
Speaking of heavier guitars, Joe Satriani made his brief appearance memorable by showing off his virtuosity. At times he was leading the other guitarists to dizzying heights, while at other moments he was letting Metzger and Combe show their stuff, nodding and gesturing his appreciation of their ability. When Joe Satriani is giving you props, you are doing OK. He seemed impressed with DJ Logic's ability in the live setting as well, smiling when Logic worked his magic on the song "W."

Joe - Speaking of DVD shows tongiht, is there any chance that your T2Jers get an a shot at an advance sale of your upcoming dvd or perhaphs the chickenfoot project? That would be very cool if you could get that worked out with the label that is doing these projects.

Tostado - Have you heard of Lunatic Soul? I just found out about it today...it's a side project of Riverside's singer/bass player. He has a MySpace page set up for that project, where you can hear some of the album that was released last year.
Guitarman77897 - Congrats on the license!
hybes - I've thought about buying that police DVD, but I haven't yet. I think I want to go buy their entire discography before I do...it's good to know that it's a good video, though.
Artanis I - Haha...thanks for the Minesweeper info. ;-) I think I stopped playing that about two computers ago. Getting a new computer and not being able to carry over your times stinks...oh well. Thanks for the blast from the past, though...
hybes - "When Joe Satriani is giving you props, you are doing OK."
That's a nice way to put it!
Listening to: Sammy Hagar - Cosmic Universal Fasion (current song: Loud)
Two of the songs on this disc, Psycho Vertigo and Peephole, are from the Planet Us sessions Sammy did with Michael Anthony, Neal Schon and Deen Castronovo. These were recorded before Satch was a part of that project (we heard Joe with Planet Us on Rockline a few years ago), but they're still very cool to listen to.
I hear a bit of a warped Andalusia-type vibe in Peephole...I wonder if Satch drew from that at all.

@ hybes: thanks for the gen on the Police show. I'm a massive Andy Summers fan. He has always been a very inventive and tasteful guitarist who steered clear of all the 'rock' clichés. As for Copeland: the man's a genius behind a kit. My lad's a drummer so I'm sure he'll love to see Mr. Copeland in action too. Thanks again.
Do you folks reckon we'll get treated to a whole Chickenfoot track on 1st March? That would be very sweet.

Cube - just wondering, given your ability to conjur up original stuff, what made you suddenly cover Smiley Miley Cyrus? As in, of all the things you could have covered what was the inspiration for that?
Blue Moon - ha, yes, the ID thing in Reno. Funny for everyone else : ) Pedal board looks nice. Is it set to the under side of a flight case lid? Also, what are the valve looking items to the right of the super shifter?
JS1200JS1000 - yeah, that's wierd as F***. Still, a cool guitar no matter what
Roo - thanks for the pics of the JS3. Any idea how much he was asking (it would help value ours LOL)? Actually, that particular design I'm sure I've seen imitated on a lot of custom jobs
Satriella - hey (grumpy sounding), who said anything about only having them once a year? I just use it as a good excuse to get my ma to make me some of her specials : ) Aren't sausage rolls pigs in blankets?
Igneous - ahh, clipless pedals. If only I had video of the very first day I went out using them and forgot I didn't have the old strap version pedals (forgot what theyr'e called) any more. A very DOH moment....
Skippygirl - LMAO, Daddy Long Legs fingers... that's really funny. I think you'll find a technique that suits you, and as long as it sounds right that's the important bit, not the form. "A" pentatonic will serve you well if you're still shooting for Satch Boogie.... and, going to another point of yours I'd suggest one finger per fret if that makes sense?
Willie Burns - ouch ; )
Do The Stu - would that make you partial to a bit of Serendipity then? Enjoy Paul Gilbert
Ozzy Fudd - Happy Birthday for Sunday!
Michellebelle - did Stu do a little ballet move or something at the last gig you saw (when Joe introduced the band)?
Cosmic Ape - Paul Gilbert.. enjoy man! Wish I was going
Laters all, have a good weekend

Guys..I am new to experimenting with modes. I have been in a pentatonic rut for years. Joe's lessons on the net have helped me tremendously. A question...On Mind Storm, after the robot voice section, what scale is Joe using for the next section? I am a drummer but have always played a little guitar.

El Nicko: That's what you often find, many people over here have never been to Scotland etc., yet jet off to Spain and places all the time.
DoTheStu: I take it you like 'Why' then?! :)
GuitarMatt: Congrats! I need to start thinking about driving soon as well.
JSPhil: Speaking of D'oh moments, my favourite fall was with spuds. I was messing about on a campsite (grass), came down a rise, braked (this was on my mtb), stopped and had one of those slow-mo moments. 'hang on, I've stopped. Ah, that's ok. Uh-oh, I've still got both feet clipped in. Dang...' and fall...Kinda fun though, didn't hurt; and luckily not a candid camera moment either...:)
Anyone who didn't needs to watch the U2 roof top gig on the BBC: U2 Live on the BBC. Inspiring stuff...I've already written an Edge-ish thing...

Igneousiceman - Argh...that U2 clip isn't viewable in the US. Maybe they'll ditch the restriction on Tuesday when the album is released.
cheese101 - Awesome videos...Joe needs to play Memories on his next solo tour. I love that song.
And I agree...the Cordoba shirt is probably the best I've seen.
