Ozzy..Back in 85, our band played the Strawberry Jam in Bald Knob Arkansas, the headliner was Johnny Van Zandt Band. The first band on featured a two brothers, guitar and vocals. During the first song the guitar player hit his brother in the head with his guitar, blood everywhere. I thought for a minute that vid was leading up to something similar.

Thanks Scubadaz for the info. I need to change the strings again. My Paul needs new tuners thus tuning probs. Is the Jem really as great as they say?..I would love to have 1 and a JS 1200, but I am in conserve mode. I would consider selling my Strat and possibly my RG 1570 to get one maybe later when things settle a bit.

Zack .

Zack K.. as long as telemarketers are not reading this post, you should be OK with putting out your #. Just be careful in the future. And hey if it works we all might put our # on to get Joe to call us. Just kidding Zack, we wish you luck.

Drake...A guy here in Pocahontas AR. has a paranormal investigation thing. I believe they call it "NAPS" I am not sure on the specifics but I did look it up on the web a few months ago. Weird stuff. I didn't realize how popular this sort of thing has gotten to be. My daughter watches one of the programs on TV.

... and now, to share last nights dream - and then someone can prescribe me some meds!

(without entering one) I won a competition to play live with Spinal Tap for three songs. Realise I need a better pedal setup and Bluey offers to set up a board for me. So I hop over to Ireland to pick up the pedal board. Whilst there, some ex Peter Gabriel band member turns up and delivers £10k worth of mixing desk for Al !? I post on here that I'm going to be playing live with Spinal tap and Cheese points out that Joe is doing a guest slot at the end of each of the ST gigs. So a bunch of you guys decide you're going to come watch. I go meet with some friends and we head to the venue for sound check. I get shown to stage and set up my gear. Then the band comes out, I get introduced and we sound check. After sound check I just keep practicing... show time arrives, and they introduce Joe towards the end. Everyone goes mad as he joins the stage. Then they call me so I walk out.....

..... and I wake up. I guess stage fright got me ; )

I have no idea what brought that on

Proper post later

Good morning..or...good afternoon to those of you around the world. Almost 4:00 A.M...No particular place to go..darn allergies can't breathe. As much as I look forward to Spring, allergies and strong thunderstorms are always inevitable for N. E. Arkansas.

Alan..Great playing my friend, and a lefty too. Yes I think Sarah would be an excellent mate. When I was young there were not many females that were into anything beyond strumming a few chords. Wow,.. makes me wish I was a young man again,..I wonder if she drives race cars,..Now that would be the perfect gal. I think you should hook up....Good luck on the contest...I'll buy a six pack of Killian's Red and have 1 in your honor today.

I am about to type in Zack K's link to check out his concert.

Hi Joe! Well first of all: thank you. Really i mean it, you're an awesome musician, we need more of people like you on this planet. Music is mankind best creation, period. Also, are you coming in France soon?? In live in Paris there is plenty of great gigs happening here, very good places to play too. Can't wait to come and see you on stage! And finally, what about the Coldplay lawsuit? I'm not sure if it's appropriate to comment on that here, but i really hope you're going to kick there asses, what they did is a shame. To me people like them are no musician, they are rubish, there is no word strong enough to qualify such a robbery. Anyway, i send you my best regards from France, where you've got lots of long time fans waiting for you!!

Zack..Great video..With all of the screaming girls, it conjures up visions of the Beatles,..That's a great feeling my friend. I can remember way back to my first concert... It also brings back memories of some of the drunk guys in the crowds yelling "Play some Skynyrd" or "Play Free Bird"..Ways to avoid hearing that? Don't play anywhere that drunk rednecks are in the crowd OR Play Free Bird as your opener.

Yes Pip that was a strange Spinal Tap dream. Lay off the corned beef and cabbage so close to bed time.

Wow, michelle those were amazing pics...I find it interesting that the guy can comment on them so easily, especially as it's his brain he's looking at. Nice.
It's made me think, how many female guitarists can you name? I can think of Bonnir Raitt and that's about it. Unless you count those like KT Tunstall etc...Very male thing really, guitar playing.
JSPhil: I don't think meds would help you my friend...you've got T2J on the brain...:)

ooohh just picked out (badly) the chorus line to Ten Words !!!

What does something like 8/10 on one string in the tabs mean?

Or 10b(12)r(10)?

Or 5-8/12?

Skippy..So you are 16 hours ahead of me...On the tabs, sometimes 8/10 could mean picking on 8 and sliding or hammering to the 10, depending on the author.

Zack..While visiting Dallas a few tears back, I drove to Oak Cliff to visit Stevie Ray Vaughan's grave. I remember mourning for a month after he passed. I really did not consider myself an obsessed fan but I could put on a SRV cd and I smile would just come to my face. I miss him. I see the banner on stage mentions Travis, that's not far from Oak Cliff right?

Skippygirl,

Sounds like tab off the internet?

I'd agree that 8/10 looks like a slide, I'm not sure if it's a hammer-on. I thought they used a different symbol for that.

Or 10b(12)r(10)?

_I'd take a punt as a bend and release, that is, play the 10, 1 step bend to the same note that would be played if it was fretted at 12, then release the bend down to the fretted 10 again.

Or 5-8/12?

Maybe that is hammer then slide? not sure of that one. The hyphen (-) might just be the line between the 2 notes. so it could be play 5th fret, then 8th slide up to 12th.

Anyone else?

Roo
