He's doing more of "this" (insert fingers in ears) and less of "this" (a guitar strumming gesture) ...classic

slanshroom - Wow, that is a lot of unemployment!! Are you still managing to make ends meet and stuff? Hope everything's okay... I know exatly what you mean about the whole mouse clicking/MIDI programming sage; I'm in the process of writing and recording for my first album, and it is a nightmare. Although I do enjoy it in a strange kind of way... Haven't heard from Clarky since I left the band. Is he not still around these parts?

Artanis - That's cool about the jazz. I think Clarky had that effect on a lot of people here, regarding music theory. He's a very knowledgeable chap!!

Does ultra-feminine still exist? Guess just not in my world. lol! I think it's silly to be so poo-poo la-dee-da. Life is to short to be hung up on foofey crap. lol! I'm not saying tea shops are any of that. I love a good cup of tea now and then...especially when it chases some Jager. lol!

I came across this story while scanning the wires at work today and thought it was worth sharing. It's a feature on a heavy metal band out of Iraq that is trying to make it in the US.

Their background has some obvious differences, obviously, but I think it's interesting to look at some of the similarities (being poor, having no day job, playing shows in front of five people, etc.) they have with American bands.

I feel so welcome. Well, I started playing guitar about a year ago. I picked up an old acoustic I had, then got an electric later on. I just recently found out about Joe, and I think he rocks! My favorite song by him is Surfing with the Alien. Trying to learn it (don't ask how that's going...), but I learned some of it. The thing that really gets me is that my stupid Epiphone doesn't have a whammy bar. I need a new guitar soon....thinking maybe a Jackson or an Ibanez....

Blue Moon Alan---There you go again being daft! And people wonder why there is so much discord and distruction between the sexes!! Jaysus! It started in elementary school and got even weirder in middle school. I'm just glad I bridged the gender gap in high school when I met NS. We are still good friends and he is in exile on the Great Plains with his domestic partner because this stupid country doesn't accept homosexuals as REAL PEOPLE!! Cali went weirdo with Proposition 8........Do I have to march on Sacramento to make some sense of why it's okay to take human rights away from people because of sexual orientation?????

I'm goin' to a tea house tomorrow with my sister and niece and if I see a man in there, I won't think any less of him for being in a colorful, glammed up place. Some guys wear black fingernail polish!! What's so homo about that???!!! Some guys were earrings......what's so wussy about that??? Jaysus!!!

My sister's Meningioma tumor was NOT cancerous!

Thank you Jesus, and thank you so very, very much to each and every person on here who said a prayer or sent good vibes to my sister and my family.

mikesb, after looking at Slan's vid I was actually gonna post Dancing in the Moonlight. What a great tune, isn't it. Just feckin' happy and snappy. lol! Great tune for tonight too!

Slan, that was a good one.

Now, I'm off for a cup of tea and a celebratory shot of Jager ~~ glass raised to all my peeps here who have such kindness and compassion in their hearts to help out a friend in need.

Cheers!
