Just to clarify, I agree completely.

I didn't say I wasn't getting sucked into the same behaviour and I certainly was not throwing stones.

I was just pointing out we cannot complain that Joe barely says hi if we make it hard for him to want to be involved in his own forum.

Maybe a solution for the webmaster is, leave this forum as it has become, it's obviously what people want to talk about here, all as part of Joe's worldwide fan club and friends.

But how about making things easier for Joe? Let's create a SECOND forum that is moderated for conversation with Joe. Pick a few moderators from the group here, there are plenty of people who would give their left leg to have the honor.

Then, Joe can check through a filtered set of things worth responding to and be more involved without the overhead, and can still poke his head in here if he feels inclined.

I just get the impression it may be bugging him that it's too hard to get enough time to respond to anyone here due to the noise, and if I know him, it's probably something that disappoints him.

Just a thought. Like I said, I'm certainly not trying to say this forum use is wrong, it's what the forum IS, so let's go with it. I certainly have been, which was pointed out to me a few posts ago. But let's consider helping Joe out with an easier option that enables us to stay in contact with him more easily as well.

Yes but no but yes but no but....

I agree Al, but moderators could do the same thing. Leaving quality conversation in a forum for Joe to peruse at his convenience.

And we redirect all the douches and dumn questions to this forum! :)

it is what it is - warts and all. when joe has time he pops in the chat or answers a few peeps. he's SUPER busy now, so he's not worried about keeping up here. he prolly scans posts looking for his name, or guitar/gear q's. i think he digs everyone talking about whatever. i think joe would get very bored on an ALL JOE website. he's just a guy that plays guitar, not a walking instruction booklet. if he would have wanted an ALL JOE site, he'd chop it up into tiny pieces like all the rest of the sites. there's a lot of good stuff here, and a lot of good peeps. chopping up the site would be a big mistake imo. getting moderators on here would suck hard. who's to say what's "out of bounds" to talk about?

no disrespect to you for yer idea roo, it's been said a time or two before.

by now most peeps know who talks guitar tech stuff, who talks gear stuff, and those who talk about music and shite in general. skip the posts you don't like, and read what ya want.

just my 2 cents

and now...for one of those utterly disturbing personal posts....

Man, that article is a great little tidbit! Surely we have to be about a month away from release right? If they tour this summer surely they want a couple months of air play and cd sales before they crank it up on the road. I love the comment Sammy made about Joe. That's strong considering he played for a decade with Eddie.

Hey peeps, my sis is going in for her surgery tomorrow (Thurs) at 10:30a.m. est. She's going to have a Meningoma (tumor) the size of a lemon removed from the surface of her brain. If you would be so kind to say a prayer and/or send her some good vibes, my family and I would greatly appreciate it. Her name is Brenda. She's had bits of her head shaved tonight and has electrode looking things glued to her head...at least I think they're glued? :-/ My other sis who's with her sent me a pic of her. They're staying overnight at a hotel close to the hospital, which is over 2 hours away. I'll be a nervous wreck tomorrow, so bear with me if I get stupid.

I told her I'd ask my "Joe friends" to pray for her, and that made her feel good.

Thanks to everyone who's already said a prayer, sent good vibes, or even just thought about my family.

Cube, thanks hon. Best wishes to yer sis for a healthy life. That's a hard battle to beat. It's great to know it's a battle that can be won. Hopefully my sister's tumors aren't cancerous. They say 99% of them aren't, so we all have our fingers crossed.

Bloody hell Joe, you made me look like a right GIT!

:)

Oh, no wait, I did that on my own! LOL!

Good to hear from you Joe, I think you underestimate the impact a little blue has on all of us.

I had only one question then, do the loyal T2J satchers get a preview of chickenfoot? Cmon, throw us a little soap on a rope!

CHICKENFOOT is heating up :) :) :)

Sammy Hagar, Joe Satriani, Michael Anthony and Chad Smith team up for supergroup and give Classic Rock the exclusive lowdown.

The name Chickenfoot doesn’t exactly conjure up visions of a union between some of rocks mightiest musical behemoths; in fact it sounds more like a nasty side effect of bird flu.

“It was just supposed to be a bullshit name that we’d used for a while,” former Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony told Classic Rock. “And then the rumours spread about the band, everybody used that name so we thought, ‘fuck it, let’s call it Chickenfoot - it all comes down to the music anyway.”

Featuring Sammy Hagar (vocals), Joe Satriani (guitar), Chad Smith (drums) and Anthony; this million-dollar quartet are reluctant to call themselves a supergroup as a modest Smith explained: “We’re not a supergroup, we like hanging out together and the music is a bonus. We just happen to be in other groups.”

Classic Rock caught up with the band at Hagar’s recording studio in San Francisco where the ever ebullient Red Rocker explained the origins of the band.

“It started off with me, Michael and Chad jamming at my club-Cabo Wabo-in Mexico. Then people started asking us when we were going to tour, make a record etc. So I said if we’re going to do this properly then we’re going have to get a guitarist, let’s talk to Joe Satriani. As far as I’m concerned he’s the best guitarist in the world.”
The band made their official debut a year ago in Las Vegas at a Hagar concert where they played a three song covers set (including Zep’s Rock’n’Roll and Traffic’s Dear Mr Fantasy). Since then they have managed to record an album’s worth of material with Andy Johns and Mike Fraser at the helm. They are currently putting together a tour of Europe’s festivals this summer, which will include some shows in the UK.

“Europe is where I want this band to start, I feel so guilty that I haven’t played Europe in years,” Hagar revealed.

Classic Rock was given an exclusive preview of three tracks from the band’s eponymously titled debut. Soap On A Rope and Sexy Little Thing have the humour and loose feel of prime Halen, with the unbridled energy of Montrose. Avenida Revolution is an epic political anthem about the troubles on the Mexican/American border and has all the making of a classic.

“I’m not looking for fortune and fame out of this. I’ve had enough of that to last five times,” explained Hagar, maybe referring to selling an 80 percent interest in his Cabo Wabo tequila company for $80 million. “So pull that out of the equation, what am I doing it for? The music and enjoyment.”

Oh bugger I missed Joe being online!!!!!! Dang the time difference!

Thanks for that Joe, I suspected you roved the posts from time to time, BTW my C is much better thanks.....picking and strumming are dreadful but I'm getting there.

Sincerely hope Chickenfoot comes down under.

Michelle - I have sent positive vibes to you and your sister, my sister almost lost her husband last year so I know how scary it gets.
