Jaysus! Who's to say what is manly and what is womanly these days?! If a man invites me to a guy humor fest, what's wrong with me inviting him to a boutique or to meet at a tea house? Are we gonna segregate the sexes because our world economy is in the sewer? Who raises such segregated iron/crusty men and soft unltrafeminine women? What a world!

Some guy with an Indian accent has given me 2 very weird and scary phone calls. He says he is from United States Pharmacy in Washington, DC and can save me money on my medications. He quoted my exact mailing address. He asked for all the names of medications that I and my husband take. I said I didn't give out that info over the phone and please send me information about his pharmacy in the US mail. He seemed desperate to get any info off me he could. I had to hang up on him. Very scary.

Now I feel like isolating myself for the next 100 years. ;-/ GoldenGirl2

Ugh...LiveNation's ticketing system absolutely SUCKS!

It took me half an hour to buy tickets to the Spinal Tap "Unwigged and Unplugged" tour. I don't like Ticketmaster, but at least their system works. LiveNation wasn't any cheaper than Ticketmaster usually is ($222 for three tickets up close at the Wiltern), so I don't see that there's any advantage to having them in the ticket-selling game.

Anyway, is anyone else going to one of the shows on this tour? Joe, maybe? :-)

"His fingers move, and I say yeah...but where are they going?"

Sorry I've been quiet lately, by the way...I caught a pretty ugly cold this week. But I'm off tomorrow and Sunday and should be back to my posting self.

slanshroom - Wow, that is a lot of unemployment!! Are you still managing to make ends meet and stuff? Hope everything's okay... I know exatly what you mean about the whole mouse clicking/MIDI programming sage; I'm in the process of writing and recording for my first album, and it is a nightmare. Although I do enjoy it in a strange kind of way... Haven't heard from Clarky since I left the band. Is he not still around these parts?

Artanis - That's cool about the jazz. I think Clarky had that effect on a lot of people here, regarding music theory. He's a very knowledgeable chap!!

C'man with it!!

Does ultra-feminine still exist? Guess just not in my world. lol! I think it's silly to be so poo-poo la-dee-da. Life is to short to be hung up on foofey crap. lol! I'm not saying tea shops are any of that. I love a good cup of tea now and then...especially when it chases some Jager. lol!

I came across this story while scanning the wires at work today and thought it was worth sharing. It's a feature on a heavy metal band out of Iraq that is trying to make it in the US.

Their background has some obvious differences, obviously, but I think it's interesting to look at some of the similarities (being poor, having no day job, playing shows in front of five people, etc.) they have with American bands.

I feel so welcome. Well, I started playing guitar about a year ago. I picked up an old acoustic I had, then got an electric later on. I just recently found out about Joe, and I think he rocks! My favorite song by him is Surfing with the Alien. Trying to learn it (don't ask how that's going...), but I learned some of it. The thing that really gets me is that my stupid Epiphone doesn't have a whammy bar. I need a new guitar soon....thinking maybe a Jackson or an Ibanez....
