Hello to you all!

I've got a hella lame first post here!

I've been working on "Lights Of Heaven" for a month or so now from a power tab file, was going really well was hoping to use it for my grade 8 and A level performance.

I came to trying to get a backing track at the start of my learning the song and have had really bad luck so far. I brought one CD which was "100 Joe satriani Backing tracks" Of which 99 of them are very good, and lights of heaven just sounds very amateur and rushed, obviously ive also spent a lot of time searching the web with very bad results also.

Anyway help would be so uncomprehensively appreciated! Please Email me at chrisnaylor6@hotmail.co.uk

JSPhil: What, hills in the South? Wow...thought it was all flat down there ;) You might find this useful Turbos. Just got back from the first MTB ride of spring, and it was grey and misty. Typical, a week of wall to wall sunshine, I get my mtb out..and bam Mist. Can't beat hills though, best bit of cycling for me, apart from hitting 30mph on the flat (yes, I managed it for about a nanosecond...:) Good vids as ever...why do I never see these adverts?

Pip--Is Satrini another way of sayin' ya like satin sheets?

I prefer cotton flannel--more cuddly! Where did you find all those goofy vids?

Cube--Yep. You guys would conquer the world and get to play in a G3. How cool would that be? We need the luni factor in rock n roll---it puts cinnamon in the sugar, honey and blackberry jam!! Yeeeeoooozzzzah!! (any berry ya want including.......ooohhh nooooo! Dingleberry!!!! ;-) LOL!

Chickenfoot is soooooo tasty, bold and refreshing and every song is warmed with genuine Joe the Satchmaster!

I am reading three books "Zen Guitar"(almost finished), "Only in Holland, Only the Dutch" and a Karen Armstrong book, "The Battle for God: A History of Fundamentalism." Listening to G3 2004---Amazing as always!!

Have a great weekend.

Chee--Happy birthday--half centurian! I just have 2 years ahead of ya..........AND you still are what you is! I like ya being yerself with a whole lot of Joe vids and telling us the history of Joseph and the milestones along the way! You are one of the shining followers of Joe and it makes me proud of you!

Michelle--Did you know that a branch of the McKenna family lives in Pittsburgh, PA? Colleen O'Shaughnessy McKenna is the author of childrens books such as "Fifth Grade: Here comes Trouble." Those McKennas are artistic and amazingly brilliant!!! I guess you already knew that, though. ;-)

Cube--You knew it too, didn't ya?

Happy birthday Tracie, and thanks for that link! Even though it's less than a minute, I'll go out on a limb and say that I'll probably like that song more than the 2 released so far.

I liked Soap more than Drain, they are both good. We'll see how the rest of the CD turns out!!

JBLAZE1, you're not alone, I haven't bought any Satch CD's since SBM!! maybe before the year ends, right now the dollar exchange rate makes buying music VERY expensive.

So as I got on my computer this morning I opened up iTunes, out of habit. I'm ashamed that I thought, even for split second, that I'd listen to something OTHER than Chickenfoot...haha.

Ethn Hayabusa - The "What is your purpose?" greeting bugs me a bit now too. Every now and then when things get slow at work, I'll check T2J for a bit...I'm worried that one of these times I'll forget to make sure my speakers are turned off, and everyone will give me a funny look.
ibanezguitars - "What can I say after Stu's analysis ?"

Argh... ;-) My intention was to spark further conversation, not limit it. I hope I didn't leave people with nothing to say...

ma5t - Some other people here have said that jam reminds them of what Joe used to do at the end of Always... While I agree that it sounds similar, it seems pretty natural here and not like Joe said "Oh, I know what we can tack on to ending." I like it.

I never thought of the SBM comparison, but I can kind of hear it...

cheese101 - That's my favorite Stuuu video...I love that piece of Madonna's Like A Virgin that he plays at the end. Haha!

That Chickenfoot video makes me sad...I was off work that night! Oh well...if we had only known...

I like that song though, from what I can tell...maybe more than the two we've heard.

jblaze1 - Nice... Out Of The Sunrise is my favorite from the album, and a lot of other people here like it too. I love Asik Veysel and Andalusia too, but those seem to be a bit more hit and miss with T2Jers...

The Chickenfoot album will be out soon...please don't wait a year to listen to it like you did with PSATMOR. ;-)

gotta have Joe - Very cool...(early) congrats on graduating!
soulmates81 - I hear quite a bit of Led Zeppelin in Chickenfoot, especially in Chad's drums. It'd be early Zep though (I and II), before they branched out a bit.

So I've done some digging and it looks like the Chickenfoot show was a private gig for Best Buy. Here's a video I found:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HZWr5th18_4

You can see a Chickenfoot t-shirt at the beginning, as well as a promo CD. I did a freeze frame and it looks like it has the two tracks we've heard. If you're a collector, I guess you can start looking for these to show up on Ebay. ;-)

In addition to the clip at the beginning, there's some live Chickenfoot from 2:45 to 3:10. The rest of the video looks like it's just Best Buy stuff and a crazy talking dog puppet.

Austin..I thought your Chickenfoot analysis was very thorough, You should think about writing as a musical critic. I am still forming my opinion on sound comparison.

If you notice Eddies playing style changed a bit when he switched to writing for Sammy's melodic style...Leaving mediocre guitarists aside, and there are as you know, mediocre players in the biz,..any exceptional guitarist with even close to the modal knowledge of Eddie and Joe will change a bit when when interaction between themselves and another musicians writing and/or melodic and vocal style...I think this is where some of the comparisons of this band's sound to Van Halen,.. throw in Sammy and Mike's vocal harmonies and it does sound some like "Van Hagar"..which can't be a bad thing.

I think Joe has adapted well. I mean this is a big transition for Joe. I love his tone on this material.

Who is doing the production on this new album? I think I missed that info.

PLAYERS...When I moved to my RG, I had to change to a thin pick. I used Fender mediums. I like the full sized picks, but am wanting to possibly switch maybe to another brand...What are your suggestions?

I hope everyone is having a great weekend so far!! It rained me out so I get a rest today.

Steve, try out some Dunlop Tortex picks. I prefer the Orange(.60mm) myself. In case that scares you, Paul Gilbert uses them too(copy cat).

Joe's picks in medium gauge is about a yellow tortex. I like the feel of that too. It's little smoother to the touch than the tortex.
