scubadaz - Haha...yeah, I guess my memory is pretty good. But when something has a cool name like "shovelnose guitarfish" it's easy. And wow...I can't believe that was six years ago.
Guitarman77897 - Satch doesn't have anything to do with Halo.
Steve Vai played guitar on a version of the Halo 2 theme...I think it's available on a soundtrack CD somewhere. As far as I know, though, he only played guitar on the one track. Although I just looked at his Wikipedia page and it says he played on a total of three tracks for the game (the mix of the theme, Never Surrender, and Reclaimer).
Vai has played the theme live a few times...he sometimes opened with it (informally, mixed in with noodling) at some shows on his 2005 Real Illusions tour, and he played it as a guest at a Video Games Live gig at the Hollywood Bowl.
fatape / js1200js1000 - I have a Guitar World compilation CD from the early 90s (The Guitars That Rule The World) that includes a Zakk Wylde solo piece called Farm Fiddlin'. Most of his song is chicken pickin' and sounds like nothing what he does with Ozzy, but it's very cool. I'm not sure if he's released it elsewhere...maybe you've heard it?
The whole CD is great, actually, and is well worth getting if you can find it anywhere. There's a Volume 2 as well, but I think the first one is my favorite.
I bought these albums before I got into Satch, and I think it's neat that so many of these guitarists would go on to play with him (or have other connections to related people)...Yngwie Malmsteen, Paul Gilbert, Zakk Wylde, Richie Kotzen, Alex Lifeson, Billy Sheehan, and Robert Fripp, to name a few...
...Austin...

theres usually a lot of violence in rival football teams in some countries... theres usually all sorts of events and fights organised too towards match days, it happens a lot more than you'd think
i remember a while back there was a columbian footballer who missed a penalty and got killed a few days after because of it, its nuts, but people do get passionate about it a lot and get into it, its mad

Actually, he didn't miss a penalty kick, he scored an own goal... People blamed him for Colombia losing 2-1 against the U.S. and not making it through... Weeks after the players got back, he got shot six times...
His name was Andres Escobar

Skippy, good idea.
I tried to buy them on the site, but for some reason my credit card went ballistic after that with charges for all sorts of weird things like gums, phonography, and other weird stuff. It got so full I had to cancel it and take out a loan to pay it back.
I still haven't received any packages of all this stuff, so maybe I was jipped?
Anyway.
Joe, there's a comment you'll play some of your own stuff in the Chickenfoot concerts. How about something left-field like "Dog with crown and Earring"? That'd be fun to listen to live.

Al, most definitely... People need to remember that sports are supposed to be for entertainment... My life is now much simpler since I realized the world is not going to end if I miss my favorite team's game next weekend... Crazy people...

blaze, I do not, but I own a JSX amp and I love it! I just bought an EH tube zipper and when run through the crunch channel and the right tweak sounds like, oddly enough, Eric Johnson!!! I'm not even playing a strat!!! Eventually I'll get to the perfect setting, right now I'm just goofing around with the thing... too many odd sounds... Yesterday, I made it sound like birds singing, I don't even know how...

just hook it up like a normal pedal, in the tuner menu scroll down to the different setup menu, sometimes the pod is set up for the "studio" setting when it shud be set up for the live setting or something, cant remember exactly but flick through whatever one works
i take it ur just using it for the effects... shud work aok, mess around a bit with it and you'll get it

roo - you'll need room in yer luggage for me to..won't be much :0).
Scubydazzy - what is the name of the effects thing that makes the guitar sound like it is underwater? One example I can think of is the guitar sound at the start of "Barracuda" by Heart. Have you ever tried to compose something with guitar that gives you the same feeling as diving?
Me I just snorkel whilst hubby dives - you do still see reef sharks etc and if it's the Great Barrier Reef you see heaps of wonderful things like turtles, gropers, wrasses, giant clams and of course the "nemo" fish. If you ever get to Oz you must go to the reef it's amazing diving.
ooh - can play the first 10-12 notes of Ten Words woo hoo!!

Roo....Woke up too early..watching a documentary on the tiny Jellyfish near Australia..The ones you told me about last week.
Skippy...If I make a trip to Oz, I will NOT be in the water...I am watching this scientist who was in the water looking for these jellyfish and found one..or should I say it found him, or actually it got 2 of 'em.
The effect you may be thinking of could be a Chorus or a Flanger..Sounds like progress is being made with you playing.
How are the rest of you Aussies?..I guess you are the only other ones awake. The weather here is starting a nice warming trend. I actually got to do some field work yesterday. Still about a week and a half too early to plant rice.
Hello all you guys from the UK, Spain, NL and our lone Irish friend Alan Mckenna and his new guitar.
Michelle is probably not even awake yet and she is 1 hour ahead. You West coasters are probably well into REM sleep. elpp down in Mexico. Hello Canadians!!
Hope I didn't leave anyone out. Too many user names to recall when you are sleepy.
Lucas...I read your last posts..Please if you are serious, get help. Suicide is no way out. We love you but we are not qualified to give that kind of help. Stay alive...Get help and come back and talk about guitars and Joe and happy things.
