SuperSwingDog - The Petrified Forest is on my list of stuff to do. Thanks for mentioning the Anasazi stuff...I hadn't thought about that.

That's a bit further north than I was planning on going (I wanted to go more east, maybe as far out as Roswell, and then backtrack), but that does sound fun so maybe I'll rethink things.

Listening to: Porcupine Tree - Deadwing (current song: Deadwing)

Cheesey - how long did you have to wait before Chris let you read the mag? :0)

Do The Stu - Roswell, is that where they store the aliens? :0) Seriously I enjoyed Arizona, didn't get to New Mexico. I vaguely recall going on a "pink jeep" ride through the desert it was great fun. Phoenix I was completely drunk the whole time only remember swimming in the pool. You need to put miles on the car huh?

Glitzy - where are you?

Well, (*sobs loudly*) it is only 10.5 months but our renovations are finally finished, well at least the builder has finished and all his freakin' tradies are gone. No more meeting tradespeople each morning in my jammies (had to wear jammies it wouldn't be right.....). And no more moving from room to room living out of boxes. Can't wait to have the room of my own for guitar stuff. I keep listening to Ten Words to try to memorise it and really need some solid time to try to learn it now.

burly - hope the rain is plentiful and that the crop is going to be a bumper one. We have some enormous rice farms in Oz - have you heard of Cubbie Station? It's 6 hrs west of Brisbane in Queensland.

edit...Oh and Al I love the purple - now you are Alvin Purple (Aussies will know what I mean :)).

Skippy,Never heard of Cubbie Station, is that where the rice farms are? Is Queensland the only area where rice is grown?...Congrats on the new living area. Remodeling is a most difficult ordeal. Enjoy

burly - my bad, Cubbie Station is mostly cotton, not rice.

Here is some info about Australian rice growing, mostly northern Victoria (my state) and southern New South Wales.

Skippy - funny you mentioned putting miles on the car. In this part of the country, or I guess in most rural areas people drive a lot, so distance is not an issue many times. (unless gasoline prices get crazy.) I know in the busy time of year it is not out of the ordinary to drive 200+ miles on my truck a day just running here and there. I hope fuel prices stay lower this year not only for myself but for everyone. I think that will be a key to our economic recovery.

Maybe I wont have to drive to Dallas or St. Louis to see Chickenfoot. And Cheese...About Joe enjoying the hug in the picture...Everyone likes to be hugged by the drummer:)

burly - don't know about other countries but Australia has a crazy tax system in relation to leased or business cars. If you are provided a car as part of your employment for example you must do at least 25,000km each year in it or you will be taxed a much higher rate of tax - it's ridiculous and creates a situation where people take trips they wouldn't otherwise have done, purely to put km on the car. People I know have driven to tthe Coonawarra (a wine district in the next state) for the weekend just to add lots of kms. Environmentally it is stupid, cos those who take public transport, walk or ride a bike don't get any tax advantages.

Got SBM in the post yesterday...really like Mind Storm and Mountain Song...in fact, it's all good, pretty much what I've come to expect from Joe. Next up is Dreaming #11 which should be arriving any time soon.

I've got an SA as well, it's a lot thinner and more playable in a way than the RG. Interesting to compare two very different geetars by the same manufacturer.

Happy St.Paddy's Day Satchland....I'm so Irish that when I get mad, it's not a short fuse, It's a button you push...BOOM ! ! I wish I was in Boston so I could go downtown, get drunk and get in a fight. Ahh the good ol' days..

wolfie....I'd go with Crown Royal. Way smoother and about the same price as Jack..

DoTheStu.....Zion National Park is another cool spot. I wish I could remember which Anasazi cliff dwelling we visited. It was almost 17 years ago. I love the southwest...wish we could go back.

Wolfie..I prefer Makers Mark on the 2-3 drinks a year I have. (watching my figure) Expensive but good.

Happy St. Patricks Day

Skippy..Sounds like we are not the only country with silly tax laws... I guess thats a good excuse to go on a wine tasting trip,..can't be all bad:)

Thanks for the rice link, I enjoy learning more about the way things are done in most parts of the world...And the Cubbie Station link being an irrigation project, that's great. We are beginning to see some movement toward water conservation in our area, California has been doing it for years simply because of the lack of water. In my area, we are pumping it out of the ground at an alarming rate. I myself and a few others have been implementing conservation practices like reusing surface water from drainage ditches.

Good day everyone..work time.
