Fatape - wow, that sounds like a cool spot. If you do get some photos count me in. I'm fascinated by Sharks, from when my pop used to run a fishing boat (and they mainly did sharking trips). I think it would be thrilling to see them in their natural environment

scubadaz - fair comment, it's just the initial post said "aggressive" and I don't see them that way at all, because they're not.... even surprised they're listed as having made attacks but I suppose if you're in their neck of the woods and they get scared.... I wouldn't fancy that either (knocked out). Not a diver, just have a healthy fascination with sharkies (see above).

Blue Moon - ah, I haven't played whilst proper drunk for years. Used to find that after a coupla beers I was really good, much better than normal. A few more and I was excellent. A couple more & Joe & Steve needed to watch out.... D O H! Sounds like you had a fun night

Igneous - I know a while back when I was really into MTB's two mates and I did a good 16 miles maybe more off road. I didn't ever ever do it again though : ) The Lance training is just a little variation from what I have been doing (to keep it "interesting"). You can see what he's up to on his site.... as for turby trainer I don't function well in the cold and I don't to lights on my bike either ha ha so I think a trainer would be ideal for winter/night training. Would you recommend the one you have (no he says, I not use it enough)?

Michelle - ah, that's good to hear.... and thanks for the immigrant song.... "ah eee ah ahhh"... or sumthing like that! I hope neither yours or Al's towels were too high though....

Cheese - movie... what movie ; ) .... no worries, topic closed. Are you saying you have more than those two special babies? I'm wondering if you're a secret wonder shredder now!??!? Hey, if you charged him when you let him visit them you could pretty quickly add another to the collection LOL

burly - sorry, I missed that post somehow. The last drummer I worked with was always huggin the ladies.... come to think of it, there was a lot more huggin than drummin LMAO

Right, time for some good.

Later people, have a nice day/evening/morning.....

erm........... :| Wish there was some emoticons fer the site....mine would be staring and blinking with that "the light is on but nobody's home" look........

With Mckenna, u just never know and it's really best not to axe.

Lately he's been IM'ing me the last few nights, reeeealllly late at night (when I'm in bed)....and it's not outta love and devotion, ohhhh nooooo...it's cuz he's pissed and wants me to help him make mad plans to move to San Fran :)

If I wuz Joe....I'd be slightly worried fer my city......

;)

PS...Phil....I might just have a couple of others tucked away :) And none of them at my house...they are in a top secret, high security location, lol!! Wonder shredder? Oh HELL no, LOL!!! As I think I've said before, I could play a mean "twinkle twinkle little star" on guitar at one point.....but gave it up for various reasons. I've always wanted to learn to play piano though...and a few other languages...but me brain cells be old and creaky, not sure if they could take it...they might implode! That gets rather messy u know.

Hi Michelle,

Thanks for the links.

Hi Cube--Man you have one HUGE attitude!! Maybe it comes from HELL......a place that enrages everyone! I hope you take the best of Canada with you wherever you go.

Al McKenna--If I was you mother, I'd spank yer arse and put ya on restriction for drinkin' alcohol. What is it about EXTERNAL USE ONLY that ya don't understand??? Oh, Hell!! I wish ya would move to San Fran!! We could use your brand of luniness over here!! Now take a bath in a tub of Scotch!!

Steve Moritz has very vicious headaches and barks all kind of trash at me......makes me very sad......he and his doctor don't know what ta do.........no new medications on the market..........Steve Morse and Steve Vai have the soothing medicine that works wonders for my head and heart........Steve Moritz has to calm down and listen......more seizures and he still goes out the door to work at Home Depot. ;-/

I hope Lucas goes to a doctor and gets help.....maybe it's too expensive and he doesn't have health insurance..........I gotta go to the dentist today and get my front top teeth recapped/crowned because of wear over the past 15 years.....no fun getting the swab and shot to numb the gums!

I am sad and knackered today!!

Fun question of the day:

What will be the first sound we hear on the Chickenfoot album? A scream from Sammy? Or one from Joe's guitar? A cymbal crash from Chad or a bass intro from Mikey?

My money is on Sammy...

slanshroom - Little do you know that sneaking off to Groom Lake is my actual plan, and I'm only asking about all of these other possible things to do as a way to throw people off my trail. ;-)
burlly - Very cool... I was just getting into Van Halen when they were on the Balance tour (they were even part of the plot in an episode of MTV's Road Rules), and I remember all the hype when Human's Being from the Twister soundtrack hit the radio. And then they ditched Sammy.

I was about 13 at the time, and looking forward to seeing the band on their next tour, so that REALLY sucked.

Van Halen has done so little since then...but Sammy has released 6 studio albums, 1 live album, and 3 live DVDs. So it was easy for me to just keep following him. I went back and got into Montrose (through some bootlegs) around this time too.

Man, discovering bands pre-internet was fun...

hybes - Cool...definitely let me know what you think. There's a pretty big perception that DMB makes guitar pop music for drunk college students, and it's sometimes hard for people to get around that (or to get used to rock music with a sax and violin instead of electric guitars, haha).

But their drummer is amazing (I'd put him in third place among active drummers, behind Mike Portnoy of Dream Theater and Neil Peart of Rush), and with the way their whole band improvises they're really much more jazz than pop when they play live.

You should be able to find any of the three albums I mentioned at Best Buy or any halfway decent music store.

js1200js1000 - I don't know any BLS, but I like Zakk Wylde quite a bit. I've tried to see that band before but it's just never worked out...I'm glad you had fun, though. :-)
bluegrass convert - Joe sold his Hagstrom years ago...he's said in interviews that wishes he had held onto it for sentimental reasons...
Yoda55 - Welcome to the site! Tell us a bit about yourself...
Igneousiceman - One Big Rush? Nice find!
scubadaz - Awesome! I took a marine biology class in college, and one day we all went out on a boat, dredged the bottom of the ocean, and looked at everything we pulled up. We caught quite a few of those guitarfish...they were very cool to look at.

In fact, I mentioned that on this site way back when. I included some links that are now dead, but I'm posting this now because I also included links to two pictures of Satch wearing THE pants. So that's at least worth a look.

So did Joe play the Halo themesong?

The Halo 2 soundtrack was mostly composed by Martin O'Donnell, who had composed the music of Halo. Steve Vai provided guitar backing for many tracks. Additional tracks were also provided by various outside musicians, such as Joe Satriani (for the remixed theme song, which includes new guitar solos).

Is this accurate?

scubadaz - Haha...yeah, I guess my memory is pretty good. But when something has a cool name like "shovelnose guitarfish" it's easy. And wow...I can't believe that was six years ago.

Guitarman77897 - Satch doesn't have anything to do with Halo.

Steve Vai played guitar on a version of the Halo 2 theme...I think it's available on a soundtrack CD somewhere. As far as I know, though, he only played guitar on the one track. Although I just looked at his Wikipedia page and it says he played on a total of three tracks for the game (the mix of the theme, Never Surrender, and Reclaimer).

Vai has played the theme live a few times...he sometimes opened with it (informally, mixed in with noodling) at some shows on his 2005 Real Illusions tour, and he played it as a guest at a Video Games Live gig at the Hollywood Bowl.

fatape / js1200js1000 - I have a Guitar World compilation CD from the early 90s (The Guitars That Rule The World) that includes a Zakk Wylde solo piece called Farm Fiddlin'. Most of his song is chicken pickin' and sounds like nothing what he does with Ozzy, but it's very cool. I'm not sure if he's released it elsewhere...maybe you've heard it?

The whole CD is great, actually, and is well worth getting if you can find it anywhere. There's a Volume 2 as well, but I think the first one is my favorite.

I bought these albums before I got into Satch, and I think it's neat that so many of these guitarists would go on to play with him (or have other connections to related people)...Yngwie Malmsteen, Paul Gilbert, Zakk Wylde, Richie Kotzen, Alex Lifeson, Billy Sheehan, and Robert Fripp, to name a few...
