Ozzy_Fudd--Thanks for the interview with Joe about his pedals and a little about the ChickenFoot tour.....It's gonna be an interesting summer.

Cube---Interesting to hear that the Edge is a guitarist behind the singer and not a "gunslinger" type who needs to be out in front all or most of the time. Nothing wrong with either kind...just different ways/styles of performing.

What happened to all the sisters in this forum?

Michelle and Tracie where are you? Is Anibur around? Skippygirl---I'm getting to know more chords by heart and getting the changes........slowly......slowly.

Satriella--What's happening?

Glitz Man--I'm doing better this week, but I still wasn't able to see my psychiatrist today.....He called again at about 1 this afternoon to say (yet another) emergency came up and he had to cancel all his afternoon appointments! That's the second time I have had to reschedule an appointment with him because of an emergency! He wants me to call him back tomorrow to reschedule! If psychiatists weren't so difficult to find here, I would find someone else. Tomorrow, Steve and I see a neuropsychiatrist and his epileptologist at Stanford.

As for Joe's CDs....I have 15....I erroneously said I had 14 in an earlier post. I DON'T HAVE Dreaming #11....I think it has been discontinued, The Beautiful Guitar (this is also hard to find), G3 Live 1997, Additional Creations, G3 Live in Tokyo (DVD), and Surfing with the Alien---Legacy Edition.

BTW--Glitz Man---I can use all the help I can get finding the 6 CDs/DVDs I posted previously. Amazon was no help.

Guitarvibes---The Marc Resch book is getting more interesting as I read about how the Dutch made their imprint on early America, the Hudson River valley, New York and New Jersey. Amazing.....your ancestors!

Millie, that was Tracie talking about August Rush. I know...we look a lot alike so people confuse us. lol! As for the Pagoda, it is beautiful, but the city below it is crime ridden and has gotten so much worse since we moved away. I lived there for 26 years. I feel bad for the good people who are stuck there with all the crime. Some 65 yr old dude just got his head bashed in with a hammer and a bat, and that was about 1 block from my mom's house. Turns out the dude was a John running a whore house for the Mexican immigrant workers. Ties to New York. It always end up bad. Sometimes ya never know who yer neighbors are.

Okay, I watched the Train Kept a' Rollin' vid again and I stand by what I said. Beck blew it. lol! Hammett might not be more talented than Beck, but he threw down when he was supposed to - as did Perry.

The earthquake in Italy showed up on the Richter scale at Millersville University in Lancaster, PA!! Prayers for all who are dealing with that. That was a big one!

Austin, as for the TKaR vid, Page did let it drop. I thought Flea was gonna throw down when he went over into the "circle", but the song was to close to the end. What I wanna know is - how's his neck at the end of every tour? lol!

The Beautiful Guitar is a fantastic cd...just maybe not if yer depressed...unless Joe's ballads make you happy...then it's a fantastic cd!

1. Thinking Of You 2. Cryin' 3. "Always With Me, Always With You 4. The Crush Of Love 5. I Believe 6. Midnight 7. Rubina's Blue Sky Happiness 8. Day At The Beach 9. Saying Goodbye 10. Rubina 11. Tears In The Rain 12. All Alone 13. Why 14. Echo

Speaking of movies, and Chris loved August Rush btw....

I watched Baby Mama last night with Tina Fey and Amy Poehler....fun and funny movie, I really like the two ladies in it, they work well together :) Amy is especially funny. Plus I've always liked Greg Kinnear, and usually like Steve Martin in most things. Good movie!

A lot of lives lost in the Italy earthquake, so sad...and they're still looking for survivors. I don't remember if there's anyone here from Italy, but prayers go out to all affected. Some people here may have family or friends there...hope all is okay with them.

Over 70 degrees here today....with possible snow predicted fer a day or two away...ffs.

scubadaz - Oh, it's OK...I know there are a lot of people who don't like U2. I guess my comment had a "You don't like U2? What's wrong with you?" feel to it that I didn't intend.

Thanks for posting those Edge videos. After watching them, I think I'm a bit confused about his approach to music. He says he doesn't want to be a virtuoso guitarist, which is fine, but the way he explains himself makes me think he just doesn't "get" the genre. But that doesn't make sense, because he obviously knows a lot about gear and how to really work to find different sounds...

GoldenGirl2 - Wow...I had no idea Dreaming #11 was discontinued. Next time you're in the city, you should see if Amoeba Music (in Haight Ashbury) has it...I bet they do. Or try Rasputin Records.

The Beautiful Guitar is a compilation album, so you can do without it. I've never seen it in a store, but if I ever do I'll definitely buy it...just because. Also, you didn't mention it, but One Big Rush is also a compilation album from Satch...I don't think it's listed on the discography here though.

Additional Creations was a very limited release...copies show up on Ebay for close to $100.

cheese101 - Yeah, I'm getting antsy...I want my May tour dates. I know the first mention of them as a possibility was several months ago, so I can understand if plans changed and maybe they were scrapped...but Joe mentioned them again in the recent Europe interviews so I guess they're still on.

I wonder if they'll be pushed to early June, so they can truly be "album release" shows? They wouldn't have much time, though...they need to get all their gear over to Europe by the 20th.

Onto your other post...I saw Baby Mama in theaters with a friend of mine (it was her turn to pick, haha). We weren't expecting much but it turned out to be a fun flick.

Mahavishnu - I'm 100% sure I can go to that Jeff Beck gig now, assuming your spare ticket is still available...have you booked a hotel or anything yet?

I'll send you an email...

Hey Joe, I'm a huge fan of your music,I did not know about your songs or about you until recently i was searching for sum rock music videos on you-tube...and i saw this particular video of you ...the video was titled 'Love thing' and i loved it so much. That was the first time i came to know about you...i was not much of a rock fan...but your music inspired me so much..that I've been practicing daily.....if i would ever get the chance to meet you,i would love to learn from you.And man ..the way you play the guitar...it's just awesome...i don't like heavy metal....but the romantic one's and the blues are just so awesome.I've been playing the guitar since when i was in my 3rd grade, but i was really bored playing it...and i was finding it really difficult.Initially i was attending the classes ...but had to stop due to my academic responsibilities...Now that i'm free..i practice a lot...i bought myself a new Yamaha electric guitar...it's just awesome...but how do you produce those different effects on it? What are these effect pedals...could you give me some advice on those and where i can get them from? I mean what do i have to look for when buying these effects for my guitar.I also want to play like you do.

I'll be waiting for reply...nice talk'in to you....bye for now.

Good morning all!!... Much needed sleep was wonderful.

Michelle... Thanks for posting SRV,..He always puts me in a good mood.Just picked up a couple of DVDs for my cousin: Live @ the El Macambo (excellent early stuff just before his David Bowie thing) and Live in Austin. A lot of folks didn't realize it was Stevie Ray playing in Bowies Let's Dance album. I like the album version. (more guitar). Also China Girl..For all you younger ones, check out Stevies tone on this album, I knew I was never a huge Bowie fan until THIS came out and @the time, I didn't know it was Stevie Ray on guitar but knew there was something I absolutely loved about it. Check out the album versions for different mixes.

Also a side note, after the final mixes were done on Let's Dance, Stevie decided to keep his commitments with his solo career which pissed Bowie off and that's why you see Bowie playing air guitar on the videos. This experience yielded SRV a lot about knowledge about recording and broadened his scope as a musician.

Yes Crystal Planet is good as well,. Fro the gym I need to set up a playlist of Satch and Vai, but just haven't taken the time.

While getting ready, I was thinking about the SRV / Bowie thing,...Not much is written about SRV's decision to leave Bowie, I would like to think it was because of his commitment to his solo career, but I know SRV was deep into his drug and alcohol use by this time and I would imagine the Bowie camp was probably a tight run organization and would have probably tried to subdue his recreational habits. I would have liked to have seen him stay with Bowie until the tour was over, but then Soul to Soul may have been delayed or may not have happened. Stevie never got much credit for his work here. As you can imagine Bowie was very exited about his new found blues guitarist and was understandably disappointed when he departed. It was however very tacky of Bowie to cover SRV's credit to the album.

Later...burly

some top tips...

Circle the stain in permanent pen, so that when you remove the garment from the washing machine you can easily locate the area of the stain And check that it has gone. Don't waste money buying expensive binoculars. Simply stand next to the object you wish to view.

Always poo at work. Not only will you save money on toilet paper, but you'll also be getting paid for it.

Weight watchers. Avoid that devilish temptation to nibble at a chocolate bar in the cupboard or fridge by not buying the f**king thing in the first place, you fat bastard.

Recreate the fun of a visit to a public swimming pool in your home by filling the bath with cold water, adding two bottles of bleach, then urinating into it, before jumping in.

Anorexics. When your knees become fatter than your legs, start eating cake again.

An empty aluminium cigar tube filled with angry wasps makes an inexpensive vibrator.

Olympic athletes. Disguise the fact that you've taken steroids by running a bit slower.

Smokers. Save on matches and lighters, by simply lighting your next fag from the butt of your last one.

Vegetarians coming to dinner? Simply serve them a nice bit of steak or veal. Since they're always going on about how tofu, Quorn, meat substitute etc 'tastes exactly like the real thing', they won't know the difference.

Invited by vegetarians for dinner? Point out that since you'd no doubt be made aware of their special dietary requirements, tell them about yours, and ask for a nice steak.

High blood pressure sufferers. Simply cut yourself and bleed for a while, thus reducing the pressure in your veins.

Heavy smokers. Don't throw away those filters from the end of your cigarettes. Save them up and within a few years you'll have enough to insulate your roof.

Corsa drivers. Attach a lighted sparkler to the roof of your car before starting a long journey. You drive the things like dodgems anyway, so It may as well look like one.

A mouse trap placed on top on of your alarm clock will prevent you from rolling over and going back to sleep.

Fool next door into thinking you have more stairs than them by banging your feet twice on each stair.

At supermarket checkouts a Toblerone box makes a handy 'Next customer Please' sign for dyslexic shoppers.

Girls. Don't worry about a nice dress for that important first date. All he's interested in is seeing you naked.

Putting just the right amount of gin in your goldfish bowl makes the fishes' eyes bulge and cause them to swim in an amusing manner.

Avoid parking tickets by leaving your windscreen wipers turned to 'fast wipe' whenever you leave your car parked illegally.

Housewives. I find the best way to get two bottles of washing-up liquid for the price of one is by putting one in your shopping trolley and the other in your coat pocket.

Don't invite drug addicts round for a meal on Boxing Day. They may find the offer of cold turkey embarrassing or offensive.

Office Tips

1. Never walk without a document in your hands People with documents in their hands look like hardworking employees heading for important meetings. People with nothing in their hands look like they're heading for the canteen. People with a newspaper in their hand look like they're heading for the toilet. Above all, make sure you carry loads of stuff home with you at night, thus generating the false impression that you work longer hours than you do.

2. Use computers to look busy Any time you use a computer, it looks like "work" to the casual observer. You can send and receive personal e-mail, chat and generally have a blast without doing anything remotely related to work. These aren't exactly the societal benefits that the proponents of the computer revolution would like to talk about but they're not bad either. When you get caught by your boss - and you *will* get caught -- your best defense is to claim you're teaching yourself to use new software, thus saving valuable training expenses.

3. Messy desk Top management can get away with a clean desk. For the rest of us, it looks like we're not working hard enough. Build huge piles of documents around your workspace. To the observer, last year's work looks the same as today's work; it's volume that counts. Pile them high and wide. If you know somebody is coming to your desk, bury the document you'll need halfway down in an existing stack and rummage for it when he/she arrives.

4. Voice mail Never answer your phone if you have voice mail. People don't call you just because they want to give you something for nothing - they call because they want YOU to do work for THEM. That's no way to live. Screen all your calls through voice mail. If somebody leaves a voice mail message for you and it sounds like impending work, respond during lunch hour when you know they're not there - it looks like you're hardworking and conscientious even though you're being a devious weasel.

5. Looking impatient and annoyed Always try to look impatient and annoyed to give your bosses the impression that you are always busy.

6. Leave the office late Always leave the office late, especially when the boss is still around. You could read magazines and storybooks that you always wanted to read but have no time until late before leaving. Make sure you walk past the boss' room on your way out. Send important emails at unearthly hours (e.g. 9:35pm, 7:05am, etc.) and during public holidays.

7. Creative sighing for effect Sigh loudly when there are many people around, giving the impression that you are under extreme pressure.

8. Stacking strategy It is not enough to pile lots of documents on the table. Put lots of books on the floor etc. (thick computer manuals are the best).

9. Build vocabulary Read up on some computer magazines and pick out all the jargon and new products. Use the phrases freely when in conversation with bosses. Remember: They don't have to understand what you say, but you will sound impressive.

10. Have 2 jackets If you work in a big open plan office, always leave a spare jacket draped over the back of your seat. This gives the impression that you are still on the premises. The second jacket should be worn while swanning around elsewhere.

burly - thanks for the info on Bowie and SRV I never knew he played on that album - and the vid is entirely Australian I've never seen that before - wow.

Talking to some friends here in Melbourne over dinner last weekend and I checked with the hubby exactly how big their family farm in Queensland is and it turns out in imperial measurement it's 60,000 acres.

Satriella - aw.....lovely scribblings, ain't love grand?

JOE - mate, honey, God of Rock, all around legend, give we Aussies some blue please!!! And some tour dates!! Thanks, I know I'm not asking for much :0). All the Aussie T2Jers are double-bunking in the virtual bus for the CF tour. We'll be there in spirit.

BTW Joe my Ten Words cover is now about 12 bars long, should be done in 2011.
