hi joe, the first time i had heard anything satriani was in s.f..I was living on a fishing boat; in 1995, with my 2 kids, and a special friend (an absolute fan). I had the greatest intro too you and your music. But the biggest outcome was my 11 yr old daughter; Samantha. Sams was interested in the keyboard. I got her one at a yard sale. In 3-4 weeks she had listened to your solo's and with some other helps; She wrote and put to music a short 1 verse and chorus about aleins and being out after midnight. Yes she was out late and had been grounded too. She has very distanst uncles, she has never meet (the cowsils). But that has really nothing to do with what my point is. I just read that you had taught in the past, and ; when you know that you made a difference you have that Feeling. So here's a thank you, and gods will ; for you and yours and all. Trying to get to may's seattle/vancouver dates. Had some nasty flood, lost all my music,..., e-thing ... . Just replaced my computer, replacing music is tough, but this will be my 3rd alein when i can. C.A.

OK, so the Best Buy Chickenfoot video made me realize that if these guys weren't already famous for their other work, based on how they act with each other there is NO WAY they'd be given a record deal...no one would take that chance with 'em. I'm glad that's not the case, though, and we get to hear what they come up with.

michelle - I saw that Sammy Hagar video a few days ago...don't know why I didn't post it here. I think the interview went really well, and it's great exposure for the band...even if it aired in the middle of the night. ;-) Man, Sammy is such a cool guy...

...Austin...

Sammy saying in the Bestbuy vid he's "just along for the ride" and seeing the other guys push his car was so funny!
I surfed into this CF picture
And the Fox News interview really cheered me up Sammy!

wow the excitement is building now isn't it?

Come on Joe a bit of blue for your Aussie buddies who can't get to see Chickenfoot!!!

Do The Stu - roo has pointed you to the Time Machine LP's - you prob already know but across the 3 LP's is a wonderful piece of writing by someone called Matt Resnicoff, in roo's pics you can see it running down the left hand side of each record - it's a great piece describing how the album was made and the skils and techniques Joe put into making each song - as a journo you'd probably really like it too. He has some beautiful descriptions of Joe, what was going on at the time the song was written, how it was made and where etc.

Thanks for all the links everybody, and Al I liked Vantage Point, and hey you have a reasonably cute bum in the pic at your website :0).

slans - re your last comment, I've been having some convo's with other T2Jer's along the same lines - that the era of being so "close" to Joe and seeing him at small venues, right up close etc. and almost touchable, posting here from time to time, photo opps etc, is almost over and once CF make it big there'll be a chasm between fans and Joe, but on the other hand it is a well-deserved and long overdue recognition of his huge talent and once the mass audience learns to appreciate his talent and the collective talent of CF well, it will be great for him.

Thanks for the tip for my bro-in-law, I've passed it on to him and I'm sure he will be in heaven once he gets to Spain, he is a well-known flamenco guitarist on a national level here, and he loves Brazilian guitar music as well (in fact he tossed up whether to go to Brazil or Spain this trip) and a natural-born teacher (prob much like Joe) - he let me play his $10,000 Conde Hermanos guitar and I am a useless beginner that's how good he is.

Hi, Joe, Just joined as a member of your website. I'm a 44-year-old anesthesiologist, father of four, and, of course (you guessed it!) I play guitar. I've also (you guessed it again!) been a fan of your music for quite some time, but because of an incredibly busy (and stressful, I might add) work schedule and the demands of family life, I haven't been able to pick up any of your "new" stuff until only recently. The thing I love so much about your compositions and arrangement, BTW, is that the songs have the ability to instantly take me back to certain events/times/memories in my life, regardless of when the song was released (ie "Summer Song" brings me immediately back to warm, carefree college summer days, playing football on Manhattan Beach with my college friends). Anyway, I only recently heard "Ten Words" for the first time, and I have to tell you, Joe, that I had to play it over and over again, because it touched me on such a profoundly personal level, and tapped into deeply special feelings I've had for only a very few people in my life (most definitively my wife and kids). There are many great songs, but for me, only a small handful have that quality. Are there any songs, not your own, that have that same effect on you? Thank you for allowing me to be a member of your site. Be well. JDMD

I woke up this morning with the lyrics "Get your buzz on, right here" and that part of Soap On A Rope banging away in my head. I had to play it as soon as I got to my puter.

I gotta get some VH on before the band gets here and ruins my CF/Sammy vibe. lol! It's recording day here at the ol' studio, so it shouldn't be to loud, but then that also means I can't go blasting my music either cause it'll pick up in the mics.

Beautiful sunny day here in PA.

Sammy on The Bone 11-5-08

edit - the vid Sammy is talking about - Cosmic Universal Fashion - is at his site Redrocker - WATCH IT!

Keniko, it was a Chickenfoot ticket clusterfuck. Read back over the posts of the past 2 days. Email Jon and let him know what happened and he'll pass it on.

Good Morning Satchland...... What' Up?

Well I'm really disappointed and pissed off. I became a Chickenfoot club member to access to presale as I knew the ticks would go quick. I got an email that I thought stated presale for Chicago was on Fri. April 17th. So I log in on Fri. only top find the presale was Thurs. the day before. So I log in today cause Ticketmaster told me the public sale was Sat. at 10am. It's lookin' like it's sold out like I expected. Maybe I missed something but buying these tickets was real confusing and disorganized. Well, at least I'll get my Chickenfoot club member shirt and discounts at the store. Anybody else in Chicago experience similar probs?

Have A Great Day Everyone !!!!!

Just got my VIP ticket for the LA show. $251.75. Sheesh. ;)

I thought I was being "smart" not paying the $40 fan club membership to get in on the pre-sale (didn't win access in the contest here) but this morning just seconds after the general on-sale started, all regular tickets were sold out! I assume there were none left after pre-sale. So instead I'm paying an extra $190 give or take, instead of an extra $40. Doh! The early entry better get me a damn good spot near the stage. ;)

I actually haven't been to a "real" concert since 2002 because I needed to start saving money back then, and cutting out $100+ for a few hours entertainment was an easy way to save cash. The only shows I saw in that time were Joe's free CD release parties for ITLIS and Super Colossal. I finally had to make an exception for this incredible opportunity, and boy did I pay for it (with the wife's blessing)! ;) It'll be worth it, though.

I've seen both Joe and Van Halen (including shows with Sammy) over a dozen times each (before the 2002 concert moratorium) so I know this is gonna be incredible. Also a pretty big RHCP fan but I've never seen them live. Can't wait for May 18!

Pip - I've never plugged a 1000 in to compare, but I really doubt the AH1 & AH2 in the 100 would come anywhere close to the Paf Pro & Fred in the 1000. I'm not saying it sounds complete shit, that bits me. I just love the feel of the thing. I don't play well enough to warrant mods.
As for the Vai sig. I won the after show pass from Vai's site for the G3-06 tour in Sydney. I was hoping It was going to be a group thing with Vai, Joe and JP. So I took my js100 hoping Joe could sign it. They separated the groups, we went up stairs to a room, waited about 2 minutes and in walks Steve. I couldn't believe it. here's me and Steve Vai standing there talking about how well Joe played that night. In the excitement I completely forgot to get a photo. Doh!
