While I'm asking everyone to do massive favours for me, if anyone has connections or ability to get hold of an extra JSBDG black leather (limited) guitar strap - I seriously need one. Thats what is missing from my Guitar pack, that's the price you pay for getting a one before Joe signs the certs.
I have put in the legacy CD (signed) and since got the cert. But the purdy black 20th BDG strap is missing still... :(
Thanks for any help you awesome, well connected satchers!

Austin... Jeff, John Cuniberti and I are always moving a little closer to configuring some kind of Squares retrospective. John has baked the tapes and made the digi transfers, we just need some time to focus on it.... Andy passed away a few years ago without having pulled things together enough to make it back on the stage... Jeff and I saw him a few times out on tour, but... he was battling sobriety, and not being in a band... The irony is, he's on the radio more than me and Jeff, you can hear his great voice, clear as bell on "The Dream is Over" by Crowded House a few times a day anywhere in the world... Perhaps the memories still hurt too much for us to sit in a studio and deal with ... If you know someone out there who needs saving, don't wait, jump in... Joe

Joe - It's sure nice to see you jump in here now and again and engage in conversation. It means a lot to all of us. Are you going to be able to put the final touches on your DVD before the Foot hits the road?

Joe, you've still got a few posts to hit the 1,000 mate!
You must be enjoying a little Joe time I guess, being on here so often over the last week. Everyone's gotta remember to take time to themselves. I'm sure you see this as relaxation don't you? I can't see you thinking... Oh bugger, I've not checked those bloody T2J posts, there will be pages of the buggers, damn I rue the day I agreed to that....
I think you get a kick out of reading through them when you get the chance.
I for one think you are a legend for the amount of time you spare for your fans, and it's just gonna get bigger with the chickenfoot yumcha thingy you've been roped into.
Now that I've patted your ego, got any spare Squares original EP/single/etc you can send my way? hehehehehe can't blame me for asking...
:)
All the best,
Roo

Wonder what's the thought behind that....
But my dad has a really cool old turntable, wonder if I could sneak over there and blast him wiff some Chickenfoot, LOL!!!
He might never recover!!

I think vinyl is one of those weird things like classic cars. They are just classic. There's few things in the world like that. If Ferarri put out a remake of a classic they'd sell like hotcakes.
Classic cars, rotary dialers, retro apartment decor and vinyl just stay in there.
But things like Cassette tapes, Betamax, VHS, etc. just die an d go away (except for the historians and the fanatics).
Strange isn't it. But I definitely WILL be getting the vinyl for Chicktoe, it's a MUST!
Hey, I just thought of a good name for bootlegs for chickenfoot - Chickenboot!

Goodmorning satchland, Liberation Day in The Netherlands. Festiveties and live music all over the country. Unfortunately bad rainy weather. But one thing never changes: hot coffee in the morning!
SuperSwingDog I like the invisible car! More of that crazy stuff. This 3D guy is the greatest. But using a real car like the art student is best! I'll try to find a much bigger detailed picture. .....Update: Ah this is another view!
slanshroom 'tellybelly technique', I'm sure it will end up between tapping, hammer-ons, pull-offs,string bending, harmonics, palm muting, legato slide, pick scrape. But will it be allowed in Air Guitar Championships?
Al great photos you dug up. And very tasty pedalboard.
Joe I never see gate or compressor in your setup. Though most players use them. Can you explain? Using 19" stuff at FOH, or you just don't want it / need it?

compressions used post recording or even put through a rack comp during tracking... and live it can be added easily by the house desk too... my 2 cents anyways!
some players dig the dynamics

burly, more mixolydian tunes that come to mind:
- Raspberry Jam - Manolo Sanlucar - Caballo Negro - John Petrucci - Glasgow Kiss (the main theme)
- My guitar wants to kill your mama
Notice the chord progressions... You will find that when you are trying to accentuate a specific mode, there are certain chords that you will have to play and others that you might want to stay away from... When you want to play E mixolydian for instance, you stay away from A major, and so on and so forth...
The only time I'd play an A major chord on such scenario is if I wanted to accentuate an E major tonality. This would also mean that I'd have to play a B major chord (non diatonic to A major)... And there's plenty of songs that do that... Being ambiguous when playing with modes is always interesting... But for the most part, most of these tunes have a pretty static chord progression (one or two chords tops for the main themes)...
...hope this helps...

Monterrey Trace - More and more peeps are getting those turntables that you can plug into the pute and get yer old vinyls digitised and onto the 'pod. Being an old fart I still have a turntable I bought over twenty years ago and have it rigged to play through the bose, man those old vinyls had a certain FEEL (can't really put my finger on exactly what it is) that you just don't get with the technically superior sanitised, digitised, lobotomised, perfect perfect sound we get on modern CD's. Your not THAT much younger than me, i'm sure you remember! Or am I looking back through rose tinted spectacles?
Ahh, nostalgia, it's not what it used to be!

I like the vinyls because you know they are original and that there is a finite number of them. One of I have of Joe's was a 33rpm promo LP of Satch Boogie for SWTA and inside is a wonderfully written marketing letter to the radio station (or whoever) tellling them how Joe is the next sensation in guitar and that a special alien pick was included - really great stuff you can't get with a CD I reckon.
Plus, like the Time Machine LP it's great to read or enjoy the cover which can seem to provide so much more than even a CD slip cover.
I am just setting up the new home media centre thing and will definitely get a turntable component so I can play the vinyl as well.
burly - 'morning!!!!!!! Wakey, wakey. I'll find out about the rice planting and get back to you.
Glitzy?
