To those of you enjoy a bit of Tommy Emmanuel.

Way back in the early '80's as a teenager, I hung around with a lot of muso's and my best bud at the time were invited to a party by a drummer who'd done a fair bit of session work in the local Aussie music scene.Anyhow come party time and a couple of hours into the evening, two guys started jamming away on acoustics and everyone there(arbout 60-70 people) gathered around to be entertained. And entertained we were. These two guys were playing some of the most amazing stuff and at one point they were both playing the same guitar, one playing rhythmn(check the spelling,McKenna)on the lower note strings and other doing some brilliant lead at the other end of the neck. Feckin' awesome!!!! They were introduced to us as new up and coming guitarists from a local group known as Goldrush.None other than brothers Tommy and Phil Emmanuel. Unfortunately for me, I moved away from Sydney and its local music scene for a new job and in the process, lost some good contacts and opportunities I would've loved to have been around for.Ahh, such is life.

Well, there you have it folks.Me,the Great Fatape, mingling with the famous before they were famous!

So the Chickenfoot news item that says Oh Yeah is up for streaming also says the song was released to radio as a single. Has anyone heard it, or called in to request it?

And for the Chickenheads out there, has your credit card already been charged? If not, maybe that's an indication that there won't be any fan club perks for these initial shows.

cheese101 - I have no idea how long the wait will be to snag a spot close to the stage. I doubt you'd need to be any earlier than the time I arrived at the Satch gig last year (between 2 and 3 p.m., I think it was)...you can probably even be an hour later than that if they aren't doing ticket packages for these shows.

It'll be interesting to see what the crowd demographics are...in a general sense, I'd guess the majority will be Sammy/Van Halen fans, which may mean that you'll be able to snag a spot in front of Joe with no problems. Although Joe is from San Francisco, so I think all bets would be off there.

I bet all the shows sell out, but I don't expect demand to be too crazy...they're only playing the Roxy in LA, which holds something like 400 people. That's a third of what the Fillmore holds, and there are plenty of larger small venues in the area they could've gone with.

michelle - That's an awesome Van Halen video...something I've never seen before. Thanks for sharing it...
fatape - You need to make sure you have cookies enabled. I assume you're using Firefox 3...go to Tools/Options/Privacy. Check the two cookies boxes, and choose "keep them until they expire"...
