Guitar > podxt > computer mic input > cool edit pro, thats all, easy n simple for just makin a quick simple thing

if u get a mac most people will recomend logic over pro tools, steeper learning curve but its beter than pro tools, i dont have to much personal apearence, but most people in the know would prob recomend logic over PT, i like PT well im on pc so ive no choice, but i for me i can bring my home sessions into any studio, but then again u can do that in logic, once u have the stems, bah go for what ye want!

i like dings, and boobsweat is a great word, once it involves females :|

Alan- mic input on sound card? What about the drums? Are they in edit pro? or do you have a stand alone drum machine?

Macc Ladds remind me of This silly song that used to get lots of airplay on some of the rock stations until all th anti-drug movement made it unpopular, which was a good thing I guess. Kids don't need more glorification of drugs or sex for that matter.

Studio version for clearer vocals

well, the apple store doesn't sell pro tools, so I don't know if they would install it for ya... I have been checking logic for a couple of weeks and once I can afford the software I think that's the way i'm going...

What I really don't know is if I would need a A/D external converter or if I can just plug the guitar to the computer directly...

i use a pretty standard nothing fancy beatcraft for drums with some samples, its just a handy program for making a simple beat in a flash, i made a few templates a while ago so just open em up an du can make a simple pattern and loop it in 2 secs

Daughter is performing "Northern Downpour" later this month at a school talent showcase. So I told her I was NOT her roadie a couple of weeks ago , I find myself this afternoon wagging the gear up to the school auditorium to set up for rehearsal later this evening. I guess I told her....Anyway I had planned on her running through the little Marshall MG series 30 amp...well it turns out I need that one to run the keyboard, so....now I carry the 4X12 up with my Gator rack case with the Peavey head and GSP 2101...My poor back!!..I'm liking the trumpet better and better. What she needs is some payin' gigs.

Scuba-Guitar Center over in Memphis may have that service, I don't know. I will check before I drive the 5 and a half hours to Nashville.

cosmic_ape:There are apple outlets here that have various macs up & running with logic & Pro Tools, digidesign were at first bed buds with apple but got the hump when apple came out with logic because all the plug in fxs etc are free :O as y may know or not if you want t get quality fxs with digidesign y got t cough up a ton o cash so the affair was short lived

Pro Tools versus Logic.. the new Pro tools 8 software apparently kicks logics ass?¿ i cant say n i,m not goin t start the timewarp again of linking PT8 with Leopard its just 2 much grief.Story goes logic is better for sequencing midi work but falls short on audio PTLE/HD better for audio but the sequencing depo is a bit of a disaster just try copy paste n y,ll see what i mean.M powered PTools sucks its ok for demos but it ends there full stp, no idea about HD its out my budget however if i were t do it all again

i,d defo go mac 8 core with logic & still have cash spare!!

Thanks to everyone who gave best wishes to my Steve and me. We had great Easter with my buddy sister from San Fran. She and I have always been best friends from times it was difficult to interpret my parents modes of communication. She would tell me what was goin' on. Me mom told me to shut up and said I asked way too many questions. Only Dad (Joe Fidler) would play horsey with us kids and give shoulder rides. He was great at giving little kids swing rides. And I always remember him sitting at my bedside to tell me stories or just be with me when I was sick. Mum was too busy in the kitchen or doing cleaning or gardening or knitting, crocheting or at the sewing machine making new clothes or mending. It's difficult to talk with me mum---she always seems 1000 miles away even when we visit and are in the same room. She is scary! Me dad died about 6 or 7 weeks after Frank Zappa! And five months after I was layed off from my most favorite job at a library on the same campus where L Doyle (astronomer of SETI) works. Long story-----a lot o water under the bridge!

I'm gettin too old and have too much stuff behind me--I need to be lookin' forward to Chickenfoot! Chickenfoot! In SAN FRAN where the city people look after each other and it's collective neighborhoods!! I saw the movie MILK----That candle-light vigil where 30,000 people turned out in the streets after Harvey Milk and George Moscone were murdered. That's the spirit! That's powerful support and collective soul---we are in this together, united.

Chickenfoot, Chickenfoot!! DEVELOPMENTS---I bought Satch CDS--Numbers 16 & 17 today at Streetlight Records. DREAMING #11 and G3 Live, Satriani, Johnson and Vai 1997.

Thank you all of ya who suggested places to go shopping for these CDs and DVDs. I will be looking at Rasputin next.

Just joined the Chickenfoot fan club and will be getting tickets when they go on sale this Sunday. Just don't tell Alan McKenna I'm goin' cause if he finds out, I'm in trouble, big time! It's okay to tell Tracie and Michelle and Guitarvibes because they'll be cool about it. Alan will find an Irish link to the SF bay area through the Murphy family or maybe the Doyles and sneak over here and go pub hopping and find.....oooooooh never mind! Yikes! That angel face melts me into goo!
