yamaha makes some decent guitars for the $500-700 range... or, you can go with a martin... you should go to a store and line them up, see what feels better... always remember to narrow them down to the cheap ones first!

Burly: It's really interesting to have the other perspective on things. I swear if you only read Mexican newspapers for 3 months you would be convinced that all US farmers are getting 99 cents out of every dollar they spend from the government, and thus they're the evil machine that must be stopped from selling their goods in our country. Funny no one complains about US companies opening up factories over here (one of which I work for).

As far as duets (and focusing on guitars, there are many other duets I can think of which would be unsuitable for this page!!), Satch with Gilmour would indeed be VERY interesting. I would personally go for John Petrucci (Dream Theater) and Michael Romeo (Symphony X) doing a full-blast speed metal song. That's more of my thing.

Austin: going back to a previous post, I'd rather not receive any news like presale passwords than getting them late! That blows.
Question, have u gotten your hands on the Liquid Trio Experiment CD? If so what did u think?? I am stuck with their "US Credit Cards Only" policy and can't buy it!!!!@#$%

Joe, love the interview the three of you did when Chad was home having his baby. Good times man, good times! Tracie and I were discussing it, and we've decided that if yer gonna use the F-bomb, you have to say it with more conviction! Hasn't yer time with Leslie taught you anything? lmao! If yer gonna drop it, drop it hard! Now what's this about the music blowing the buttons off yer pants??? lmao!!

Sounds like an Austin Powers trick! lol!

YEAH BABY YEAH!

burly - Yeah I couldn't believe that Kiss tour was so long ago, either. They really put on a great show, and it's unfortunate to see what's happened to the band since then (although I can't say it's unexpected). I was really impressed by Ted Nugent...I need to see him again sometime.

I saw the Sacramento show, which was at an amphitheater that had just opened. I scored 13th row tickets (stage right) on Ticketmaster...it was LOUD but very awesome.

Ibanezplyr - I hope the Mr. Big tour in Japan is a success, so we get some US dates.

And if not, well, I can say I was incredibly lucky to have been at Paul's show at the HOB in LA in February...there was a 3/4 Mr. Big reunion at the end of the encore. It was so cool to see him and Billy Sheehan playing together...

GoldenGirl2 - Awesome! You should have just about all of Satch's albums by now, right?
elpp - Yes, I have the L3E2 (man, that's confusing) live CD. It's well worth picking up, if you can find a way...I can't believe that they just decided to jam on the spot like they did. If you're impatient, I remember most of the jam was posted on YouTube in fairly decent quality...it might still be there.

Do you have any way around the Ytsejam Records credit card problem? That has got to be annoying...does that happen a lot with US companies?

...Austin...

April Fools!!- My 14 year old set the clock radio for 3 A.M...bless her little heart,..

Thanks guys for the input on acoustics, I have decided to drive down to Memphis on Saturday to try some out and maybe they will have some good sales. It would really be nice to pick something up for 350-400 that plays well.

Austin- Being a Kiss fan since the early days, it has been difficult for me to watch the changes the band has gone through, although I did enjoy some of the 80s stuff they put out. Was glad to see the reunion tour and the farewell tour was a good one. Gene Simmons would sell anything for a buck,..Kind of a shame, but he is a smart business man. But ya know I think it's about time to hang it up.(never thought I'd say those words) but for those guys not to adhere to the original lineup this close to the end of their careers and go out gracefully is BS.

Elpp- There is some anger about companies moving down there. Alot of jobs were lost because of it. I do not begrudge you for being able to land one of those jobs if it helped you. I think most people forget that we are all on this big ball together.

I ran a large soybean seed production facility for 7 years. Until I was able to secure some "illegals" for a crew I had tons of headaches. People do not realize how difficult it is to find labor. No American wants to work at entry level jobs. Or the ones you find are hooked up with drugs and will not show up.

Some of the problem is that wages for these jobs are not good enough to attract quality workers. The Mexicans are as a whole hard workers, with better morals than the American guys that I employed. The company paid them just like they did the Americans. They all had fake SS#s and this caused them to pay in Taxes that they could never get back. That is the whole reason our govt. does not crack down on illegals. The IRS collects millions and millions each year that will never go back out because the SS# and the name does not match. That's what most Americans don't understand or never hear about this whole situation. What the govt. does not like is paying them cash or not withholding taxes. They will nab your A** in a hurry for that.

I am of the belief that we should make it easier for them to come in on a work visa. All 911 changed in this country with increased security @ the borders is the price Mexicans have to pay to cross illegally. Before 911 the cost was $3000. After 911 $6000. Who benefited here.

A lot are angry that they are here but enjoy those tomatoes, oranges, apples, watermelons and tobacco that would cost 10 times more to buy if the illegals were not here, because I promise you that you can't find an American to pitch watermelons all day, not even for an attractive wage. Yes there are a lot that will argue with me on that...just try it. The illegals are paying for that health care and education for the kids. Most Americans don't realize that illegals pay more taxes than we do by not being able to collect a refund.

This is another complicated situation. Yes I think they need to secure the border and restore order, but truly guard the border, don't just pretend like you are. $ gets in the way of fixing this thing. I hope it all works out for everyone's benefit.

My comments are not meant to stir anger but to inform. Elpp is our brother, he bleeds red when cut just like we do. No one is to blame here but the system, and we should all do our part to figure out a sensible solution. It is easy to point fingers and that never helps. We have way too many problems to worry about elsewhere.

We need to worry about Chickenfoot not coming to a city near us!!..but I know they will because they love us.

Just listened to the first 2 CF interview podcasts and I agree with Chelle that Joe isn't a natural swearer and it sounds kinda odd, much like it's hard to imagine God swearing :0.........no offence anybody.

I quite like the interviewer he asked all the questions I wanted to ask, especially about the curious development of Joe playing overtly sexual material.

burly - my brother has a Fender electric acoustic and he loves it, says it's terrific.

Would you believe I had a meeting today with a client same age as me and it turns out her sons are mad Satch fans and her nephew in Adelaide as well, says his bedroom is plastered with Satch stuff - vey unusual to find someone else who knows Joe let alone a family of fans.

Scuba- Yeah that was my first thought when the alarm went off, but then I thought about her carrying my Martin to rehearsal and remembered who this is really for :-) The Epiphones are a good looking guitar. Just curious for personal reasons, what do most Brits think about Obama,? I know he is there for a visit. email all responses to:satchafunkilus66@yahoo.com

Alan- You have a MAC, what should I look for in purchasing one, I am leaning toward a laptop model, but probably want to explore a used machine. Anyone else know MACs?

Skippy- I did look at the Fenders I really like my Stratocaster but have never picked up a Fender acoustic/ electric.

It amazes me still the effect worldwide Joe has on people. Isn't music a wonderful thing?

I posted on Roo's site about U.S. tour dates for CHICKENFOOT!!

What about viruses? I understand Mac is not really bothered much with them. I am absolutely sick of the problems with pc.

And Yes Windows will run on Leopard I did find out!! I can use my MS Office software!! I can't get over the price of a MAC compared to pc though, I guess it's worth it.

One of the guys who used to play guitar in our band was always into MAC 25 years ago and I would poke fun at him. The joke was really on me, he told me that numerous times.

Scuba-I tend to be realistically middle of the road as far as politic go, and I think he can make some progress , I am just not sure if he can overcome inheriting a trillion dollar deficit. Clinton wiped out our huge deficit by the end of his first term and had a surplus by the end, but man this thing is huge now. That's kinda like ripping the transmission out of your car, banging up the body all over on a Friday and expecting the repair shop to have it back by Monday afternoon. I think he will end up being a scapegoat. The troop increase thing may be needed but only if it will help bring a quick end to that mess over there or a way out.
Politics tends to get in the way of maintaining balance which is what we need. Both major parties are guilty of trying to convince segments that they are the party who is looking out for their best interest And both pull the wool over a lot of eyes.

It is interesting to hear first hand what people world wide think, without the medias spin.

At the same time, we as individuals have our own opinions but can do little to fix problems without unity. Let's all unite as T2Jers to spread the message of one united world under Joe

To all of you world wide, there are many Americans who want to make things right with everyone. Politics aside, lets all be friends. Yes we all have opinions but at the end of the day let's all be friends. Who knows maybe it will spread like wild fire. I know I sound like a Miss America contestant with all the world peace rap but man it's time now.. Let's do it...Deal?

I think my laptop has been hijacked. I cannot log on to my user profile in Vista. I am the administrator and cannot make changes and am having trouble finding out how to remedy. Not finding a fix for this prob.

I understand Scuba and we all must do what we can about things like that, but I think first and foremost if the circle of friends will grow, eventually some things, not all will improve if we all give it a try. I don't have the answers to fix these problems but I do know that by increasing our circle of friends that we will grow positively.

Sammy had a song a few years ago about being able to count your friends on both hands and how really blessed you are if you can use both hands to count your friends. It's true.

Scuba- yeah just curious about what outsiders think without the media spin, really just about his ability to fix our immediate problem, not policies as a whole. There are way too many of those issues to tackle. I think confidence is up here or at least the media says so. I just hope it all works out because it is kinda scary. This world economy worries a lot of ppl.,but I think we will overcome. We have to have faith.

I have friends who really like Busch and friends who really hate his policies, the same for Obama. They are still all friends.

Scuba diving is where you need those trusted friends.. would not want to be down there with just anyone.
