OK, this news is actually real:

The Dave Matthews Band announced today that they're headlining the Montreaux jazz festival on July 4. They'll play from 10-11:30 p.m. Closing the festival, with a midnight-1:30 a.m. set, is Chickenfoot.

I never thought I'd see those two bands on the same bill...cool! Is anyone here planning on going to that show?

Just now listened to the podcast interview with Sammy, Joe and Mike. What fun! The sexy little thing sounds like a fun song with a little Viagra, Levitra and Cyalis thrown in....Of course Sammy has his own opinion about just doing it a naturale....."Popping buttons off the front of your pants....ooooo what a clear mental image that creates.......wooo!!! woooo!!!

Anybody dig the show Rescue Me? It's starting again on April 7th at 10:00 pm est. It's my favorite show! It's a damn shame it's only on a few weeks a year.

Austin: I did see the jams on YouTube, it just made me want the CD more. I absolutely hate YouTube audio.
Usually I'm able to buy from any US website, even Ticketmaster accepts my card, they just make me do the will-call thing which I find convenient, not worry about losing the tickets before the show.
I can see why they would want to protect themselves from card fraud, but it makes it frustrating as heck. I still may be able to setup my US address as a secondary address on my card, that's my final option before I start asking for help...

Currently listening and watching: Mexico 0-1 Honduras Appalling.

Burly: I'll take one of your phrases as THE summary: we are all in this big ball together. Americans are mad at us for taking factory jobs away from them, Mexicans are mad at the US for what most interpret as abusing their superpower status, but at the end of the day both gain from their mutual relationship.

This is the beauty of the internet. There would've been no other way to get the perspective of an American with extensive farming experience. United under Joe indeed!

Hey Austin, you should work for a newspaper or something...oh wait...

Currently observing: Mexico 0-2 Honduras. What's worse than appalling??

Sweet! They're filming some stuff for the movie The Last Airbender at our Reading Pagoda tomorrow! They've been doing renovations on it for the past few years. New bright red lights around the edges of each tier, clearing the brush surrounding the base of the Pagoda (damn fire bugs!) and stuff like that. It's pretty cool that a movie will be shot there. It's a beautiful place and a landmark of the city I grew up in.

At night you can see if from miles around at the top of Mt. Penn. It's really beautiful for the crap city it's in.

This shite makes my fuckin blood boil.....BBC news on the Michelle Obama visit

"By Wednesday evening she had sported four different outfits, from a bright yellow dress designed by Jason Wu (the man behind her inaugural ball gown), to a sparkly cardigan and skirt set by US high street store J Crew (another of her favourites). The fashion press have so far given her outfits the thumbs up"

WHO ARE THE FASHION PRESS? line those fuckers up i feel the need t use my sub machine gun.Does that mean if she scuffed around in jeans & a t-shirt she would get shunned?¿.... it absolutely does...you are what you wear in the gay snob west

Slan, at least they're not pointing out all her fat (she has none). They eat that shit up when women are 2 lbs over their "expected" weight. Who cares what they're wearing or who made it or what it cost. Michelle's $250. dollar J Crew sweater would be no match if McCain's wife would be the first lady. They'd be telling us how many thousands of dollars her sweater would cost. Personally I'd rather not know

These press mo's have nothing better to report

Ah...it's nice to see I caught a few people with the April Fools' joke. I know it was long and over-done, but I think it's more fun to go way overboard and see just when people finally "get" it. I expected that moment to be right where it was for michelle, with Z.Z. playing bass. ;-)

I'll have to change my strategy next year, and come up with something short and sweet...

burly - I'd only consider myself a casual Kiss fan (I only own Double Platinum and Unplugged), but I like what I've heard. If Gene and Paul want to continue as Kiss without the original lineup I'm OK with that, but my biggest gripe with the band today is that they're dressing up two other people in the Ace and Peter makeup. It's dishonest and it's a huge slap in the face to the band's history. I'm not surprised, based on what I know about Gene and Paul, but it is a bit shocking that the two other musicians are completely fine with going along with the game. It's sickening...
scubadaz - Wow...I can't believe it's been that long already, for PSATMOR. It's been a fun year...
aussieRGman - It's nice to see you here again. :-)
Igneousiceman - "Nice one though Austin...(unless it is true, has anyone thought of that???)"

That'd be something, but it won't happen. Eddie would never allow it...he wouldn't let the band Soul SirkUS open for Van Halen in 2004 because Neal Schon and Deen Castronovo were in it...that project grew out of Planet Us, which included Sammy and Mikey.

Satch was a part of that too, and now that they're in Chickenfoot together I think we can rule out Eddie ever doing G3 or anything else Satch-related. It's unfortunate, as it's something I'd love to see...but I'm looking forward to Chickenfoot more.

michelle - "Sweet! They're filming some stuff ..."

Hehehe...it's nice to see someone enthusiastic about filming. My usual reaction here in Long Beach is "Argh...they're blocking off streets for filming AGAIN? I hate CSI: Miami!"

Good morning to you, by the way! ;-)

slanshroom - I can't stand celebrity media coverage. I really wish someone would just fight it...I'd have a ton of respect for someone like Angelina Jolie if she'd decide to show up to the Oscars in jeans and a t-shirt one year. But it'll never happen because celebrities love the attention.

It bugs me that the general public loves it to. Just how does the clothing of the first lady or a movie star affect your life? Argh...

...Austin...

Austin- When I was about 9 or 10 I was just getting into Kiss. The Love Gun album had just came out, they were releasing stuff like mad.tons of hype. They were at their peak. It was magical for a lot of kids my age. I was never crazy about the lineup change even when Peter left the band. It just was never the same. I did like some of the Kiss/ metal era but when they dressed up the two other guys I said to myself, it's over.

The same would be true for some fans of Van Halen with Dave being replaced. Myself I prefer Sammy and I was into them from day 1.

scuba:I,ve been jobhuntin constantly every day the prob is for every job here theres 60 or more people n ya got t cue for 3-4 hours some days just t put the job num in, i,ve applied t over 200 jobs March alone n not so much as a sniff of an interview so i decided i cant be waiting my whole life for the phone t go or a mail t get sent, its rediculous at this stage, i,m teaching private again at home or will travel for extra, i,m also scoring with some friends for 2 small TV documentarys so that should keep the wolf from the door for a while.Any luck your side o the pond?

Slan - There is a story on right now about Michelle Obama's J Crew fashions. Personally if you're spending news time on her 200 dollar shirt or if we were talking about McCain's wife's 2000 shirt, it's still a waste of valuable news time. See Obaman was actually smart. He outspent McCain by a record margain during the campaign. Michelle is lucky she's wearing a 200 J Crew and not a 20 dollar Kohls knock off!! There, that's news of the morning. now on to less important things...Job cuts increased by a huge margain in March over February.....ho hum....I wonder who made Matt Lauer's suit this morning............
