When I first started jamming with buddys on guitar in high school, I learned as rhythm guitarists moving from drums. An older guy was the lead player and lead singer. He was really good on the AC/DC early Bon Scott era stuff and we primarily stuck to that along with a few original tunes that we could just really jam to. I learned minor pentatonic from him and when he left for the military I moved up and was really making gains as a lead guitarist. I "happened" upon Dorian and MInor scale by accident. ) didn't know that was what it was called. The key was , I was jamming and experimenting. When This Guy came along it was the easy thing for me to go back to rhythm guitar. Scott was just awesome and there was no need for me to even try. Hey man we had a band and sounded good, and that is what mattered. Or I thought so anyway. I did the lazy thing and did not try to progress. The key is keep on jamming and trying new things.

What sounds good and what does not. You never know unless you venture. If you crap out, you learn very quickly not to go there again. Keep yourself in a situation where you are free to explore and never put yourself into a box. I am glad to have played with Scotty but I should have kept digging.

Link fixed :-)

I actually moved back to drums within a few months. I did have fun though. Now I am playing catch up.

The Jam Man really helps a great deal with this discipline you guys are talking about.

Joe- any chance of Sammy singing Satch songs like Big Bad Moon?or others? I see pics of him during rehearsal with guitar in hand. How much of the set if any will he be playing? And how close will the tour be coming to Northeast Arkansas?

Mondaymorning... sigh

GG2 I am not joking, at that address you want to visit 'The first church of Christ scientist'. Science and christ in one sentence: wankers and stickycunts (Boston founded and based). You know me and religion by now! The Freethinker

cosmic_ape thanx for that wankin video, really funny. And there's thousands of them on Youtube with useless riffage.

Time for breakfast,

Guitarvibes - 'morning, sounds like you need some coffee :0). Saw the video of the man driving his car into the royal convoy - how awful, can't imagine how somebody could do that.

How's the weather? It's getting chilly in Melbourne, have to bring the brass monkey inside soon.

Hi Skippy Skipster yep you're going to winter, but we have summer ahead! 17 degrees celsius, but a bit chilly wind.
The idiot in the car killed 6 people, someone tired of the demands of life, having been fired twice, trouble with paying the rent. The 'disappointed in society'.
I had a serious fitness test this morning, testing max HR and VO2. Heart-rehab at the hospital fysiotherapy dept ends this week, and than work hard in the gym where I was tested this morning. Not bad for someone with infarct 2 months ago, but still a lot of room for improvement. I will make room by loosing 14 kilos of too much FAT! Which will reposition my guitar while playing standing up!!! LOL!
Remember this one? "Enough belly for that Tele"

Thanx Al- E Mixo is actually A major but when improvising in E Mixo, I never have the tendency to resolve in A except when using double stops. I think it has to do with ear training, and the fact that I tend to hang with the progression to a point that I naturally want to land on A.

Skippy take care of that brass monkey, the future of the breed could be at risk. When do the growers typically plant rice there? We usually like to begin in early April.( risk of freeze is usally decreased) In late April or early May, we usually experience "Blackberry Winter" ( Old school of thought was that it was for the purpose of allowing the blossoms to develop.) In the last few years I discovered that it was for the purpose of my Mexican friends to once again break out the insulated coveralls :-) Of course we all walk around maybe with long sleeves on. It's never that cold but it seems like it is when the body gets used to warmer temperatures.

Hello Satchland, hello my dear friends, hello GREAT JOE!!!

OFFICIAL NEWS: i gonna be father of a girl :)) !! Her name will be MATILDE :) !!

JOE - From the heart, i would like to see you as the Godfather of my daughter :)). I know it`s complicated but who knows ;). Btw i will be in Madrid to see Chickenfoot and great stuff on Guitar World. The new Satchurator is amazing. I`m playing in a covers band and the new sound kick ass. Amazing dstortion pedal! Just one thing my guitar Js 1200 is with a problem since the begining: the neck is with 2 little ridges in 2 different places and the strings are touching the neck on those two places. With the different temperatures it`s difficult to play clean. I must see what i can do. Thanks for everything, see you in Madrid ;) !! Warm regards, always with you!!

Hello DCK, Michelle, Mowlie, Kayla, Sandy and everyone!

Love

Alexandre
