Goomornin. Very nice to be reassured one day I will hear a new Satch solo album. Chickenfoot is fun, but musically I need more depth and challenge, mystique if you will.
Had another sober middle aged saturday evening, listening to Jeff Beck at Ronnie's, and reading the latest Guitar World (June) with Chickenfoot, Zakk Wylde and Jeff Beck!
Purchased music: The Hideous Sun Demons. 'Easy journey to other planets' by guitarist Godfrey Townsend. 'Quantum' by Planet X. All instrumental stuff of course. More on my wish list (Dave Martone - Clean), but the budget.... oh yeah and pre-ordered the Travis Larson Band new DVD!
And now some cheap coffee....but with some music!

Hey Joe!

I have been a fan since SURFING came out. I would have been in grade 8...maybe grade 9. You have been an inspiration I picked up the guitar back in '88 and struggled for a long time thinking that i sucked. Compared to you...YEAH I do. But I keep an open mind and I try to learn off the songs you release. I'm still trying too find the right touch for the speed but have found that speed doesnt make the song the melody, but how you use the right note.

Keep up the AMAZING work!!! Best of Luck to you and the rest of your new adventures!!!

Scuba: Cheers

Never dreamt for a second the FOOT would be the only direction from now on.

Can't wait for the FOOT CD, but can't wait for the next JS CD and equally would love to see more and more collaborations with other artists, even as one off shows - check this out:

Joe/Grace Potter - Too COOOL

btw the chromeboy has such an Awesome sound, heavier than most, but it just sounds amazing. . . .

Too much rain here. We just keep getting bombarded. Need to stop for a couple of weeks.

Enjoy your Sunday & Monday down under.

ROO: Hi there - are you one of the other Bdg 88? Cooooollll!

First thing I did with the Blackdog was get a replacement wammy bar - the dots will definitely wear off!!! Everything else should be fine, but I'll keep my RG as the main guitar with the others as a treat (lol!!) The Blackdog is soo bright!

Good 125cc race so far - Go Brad!

Burly - It's hard to beat a JS model I think. I have not played all that long...coming up on 4 years now. Since I started I always played Les Paul. But last year the wife let me spring for a JS1000. It's hard to say anything negative about that guitar. The neck is very fast and easy to play. And it's a very light guitar. I can play the JS 3 times longer than my les paul. the trem system still scares me when I change strings. I really no guitar tech, so it takes me forever to change out strings and make sure my set up is right. Strangely enough though, I think my les paul sounds better with my satcherator. Maybe my hearing is off a bit/!!! lol. I am in my 40's now....too many concerts will do that to you.

Mornin' T2Jers and top of the morning to ya Joe. The blue is reassuring and quite welcome to me eyes. Glad to hear you will be continuing your solo career. Did I say I like your drummer Jeff Campitelli? His Campitelli-ness is awesome! And then there is Stu Hamm......delicious well seasoned bass at its best!

Guitarvibes--"wankers"? Oh, broeder!! Such intolerable cruelty!......I guess I left myself exposed didn't I?! George Clooney's humor is on the march and nothing can stop it! Also that icepick Guitarvibes humor...Ouch! I hurts so good! What a country of paradoxes is the Netherlands! ;-D

Blue Alan Moon--Yer welcome to Cali anytime.....hendrix the catalyst.......and Frank Zappa's school of music and entertainment........wow! Such a rich heritage! Eire is a puzzling place.......good to see people and their animal friends walking side by side in the most ancient of relationships........healthier than horses under the hood/bonnet of an automobile......although not as practical in the city........I guess that is why we have cats, dogs, bunnies, guinea pigs and other small pets......cute critters who can be placed in an exercise ball to roam around at will! The movie Bolt was a funny romp!

Michelle--Thanks for vid of Jeff Beck and Rod Stewart in L.A. Memorable meeting!

cosmic_ape--You called yerself a "wanker"? Is nothing sacred anymore! Ooooops! I may be exposing myself yet again.

Me Steve is still an early morning guy.......he has tried many times to encourage me to match his schedule......tough thing for a later in the day person that I am........body clocks don't quite work in the same "zone".......that's ok.......we are still here for each other......and once I'm awakened in the night or early morning, I'm available for hugs and kisses and other wife things....

scubadaz--Thanks for the vid of Joe and Steve Morse together. They are great together on stage.....Ahhhh, Deep Purple! .;-)

Ice: Hi and thanks for the post and the comment - the first!

I agree discipline is the key, along with the old ones - pacience and practice of course! I used to be able to play about 70% of FiaBD for ages, but made a concious decision to sort out the rest, now just need to sort out an outro (still not the full song then huh? Damn.)

I spent a couple of hours listing out which songs were 'do-able' how much I knew of them or if I had to relearn them, how well I could do each etc, then figured out what to tackle first.

Sounds great - but I'm struggling to stick to it right now - work / training / Motogp races etc!

That's the main prob, finding ones that are learnable by ear all the way through...I've got a learn to play Joe Lick Library DVD that is really good, but that's only about 4 or 5 songs. I'm a bit lazy as well I think, I get bored learning things if they aren't working out for me...great attitude eh? :) When you say MotoGp do you mean watching or competing?
