I just read that Tribune review of CF. Obviously not everyone will like the CD or the live show, but that style of writing turns what should be an objective observation into a "look at me, I can squeeze 2 metaphores (sp?) in the same paragraph" pile of garbage.
A while back some people suggested that Austin should do music reviews. I didn't post anything at the time, but the very first thing that crossed my mind was nope, he simply cannot write in that disdainful tone that characterizes mainstream written reviews. This is a prime example. So as I used to say way back when, ignore the ignorants.

Joe--I'm still getting acquainted with your always amazing songs.....Strange Beautiful Music...Hill Groove, Sleep Walk and You Saved My Life are my favorites. From ITLIS.....Just Look Up.....ITLIS......If I Could Fly........Searching (my most favorite for all the twirly pedal sounds and the "cooking" and "boiling" guitar sounds)......and Bamboo (with the raindrop sounds). All the love in this music resonates....Your friendship with other guitarists like the 2 Steves and your attention to us T2J ppls adds more harmony and helps make your musical gifts soar to the heavens! I can't imagine life without your songs......declarations, assertions and ballads from you and your guitars......I believe, with a guitar, you can do anything!!

Our local soccer team (and the subject of my foray into Youtube uploading) got eliminated in the semifinals tonight, they fought hard against a better team and nearly pulled off the major upset. It's all good, next season should be better.
Tonight I took my son to see Smackdown in Las Cruces, NM. Our first WWE experience for both of us, I found it to be quite entertaining, since no cameras were rolling the wrestlers were much more engaged with the public than what they usually seem on TV. The bad guys were making faces and going after the hecklers, the good guys were high-fiving everyone they could get their hands on.
My son was screaming histerically when Jeff Hardy was on, I have never seen him do anything with so much passion and excitement...and then Edge beat him...he had the angriest look you can imagine on a kid's face, tears almost coming out, I literally had to restrain him to stop him from leaving the arena right then and there. On the drive back he didn't say a word!!! And to think that I used to be like that...at 25!!!!
I still highly recommend it, maybe just warn your kids that his/her favorite wrestler may lose, so it's not such a shock!

Ahhh, the days of the Hardy Boys and Lita....
They came here for a show, and my daughter and her friends were at the local mall and seen them at the food court along with the Green Hornet (huh? whoever he was? lol!) They were so nice to the kids. They posed for pics and everything. The kids were sky high after that!
Good times man, good times.

Scuba - thanks very much, burning avoided. I must look up who the safety car driver was, I don't think they were particularly safe!
Guitarvibes - thanks for the heads up. LMFAO Joe, "did you get the slouching memo?".....

"Chad Smith destroys 2 snares everytime he sits down at the kit"
Seems like everyones having a great time with this project!

Question for today - if you had to play one song of Joe's to someone who'd never heard his music, but to turn them on to it - which one would it be? Do you pick some balls out rocker, a ballad? Where would you go with it?
Sorry, it just popped into my head, so I asked.....
Do The Stu - that must be about the only video you're not in LOL. I have a feeling your on LISF, and possibly LIVE and then the SWTA Anni... etc etc. Did I miss any of the important ones?
.... and not to blow smoke up yer... but you really would be an awesome Music Journo, although I have a feeling that would be a bit too limiting?
. . . ! Happy Birthday !
Scubadaz - does Guitar for the Practising Musician still exist? That was the best mag of the lot I think. I thought modern wah's were dropping the potentiometer in order to avoid noise issues? : (
Igneousiceman - it's either twitterberry, or the way it reads pics taken with the Bberry storm on a different axis. As you flip the phone the screen rotates and I'm wondering if Twitterberry spots that somehow (hence tha blokes setlist also upside down). You must have biked yesterday?
scanloni - no, that's not Joe.... (oops, sorry Chee, you've already posted that)
Skippy - erm, yes, glad I could share that imagery. Fortunately there is no video coverage of it :-b That journo sounds like a right..... well, it's rhymes with stunt guitarist (as he called Joe!?!?). Still, I suppose everyone is entitled to their own opinion (even if it is wrong LOL).
Cheese - I really hate that (the blatant pushing in because I'm half naked excuse LOL). Sometimes peeps just have no manners/sense. Still, security was on your side so that's cool. Man that was a long queue time... do you like this Joe bloke or summit?
Cosmic Ape - happy birthday too! Do anything or get anything cool?
burly - I can't help but feel he just got lazy, which is a real shame. Monaco unsurprisingly dull, Bottom wins again... yawn
Roo - project guitars... photos... nudge.....
Catch y'all later
Oh oh.... post whore!

I'd say the Toronto Sun thing was a pretty fair assessment.
They were fun, having fun, and awesome. Did not realize what a mofo Chad is on skins. Sammy was in fine voice, Joe was Joe, awesome and spot on. He played both the Lord and Blackmore parts to Highway Star to perfection. Glad to see Michael Anthony having fun again.... If you are seeing foot in a small venue, bring earplugs. Joe is nowhere near as high in the mix as you are used to, there is more of a general din making it difficult to differentiate the parts and Sammy and Mike can still scream like banshees.
Renewed aquaintances with Mick, told him I was surprised to see him there as I was told it was all/mostly Sammy's peeps around this tour. Mick assured me 'Foot will be back in a bigger venue come the fall. (Hopefully I can have a sit and grin with the boys at that time)Yes, Alex was off stage beside Joe and everyone kept looking over that way and grinnin during the show. If everyone did go partying with Alex, no one turned up with a broken nose and black eyes at least.
All in all a good night and snagged a Joe plectrum to boot.... Which reminds me, Roy, if you ever reach the point in your career of flicking plecs into the crowd, you will kill someone.....

Pip: Ah yes
Actually, I am still waiting to pick up the guitar bodies. It's a bit more complicated than a simply car trip. And I probably need to pick them both up at once. So I am still holding on till the second one is complete, then I'll pick em up, aftre that I still need to test the clear finishing, have them sealed and then reassemble them.
So sorry, it's still a number of months away yet....
It will be worth the wait though.. I am DYING to play them!
