well skippy, I can't speak for any of the other road test shows, just San Fran, but it was faaaantastic! The energy of the crowd was amazing...the roar....San Fran peeps are usually more jaded than that, but THIS got them excited, LOL!! But....I'da given chelle's left nut and one of Mckenna's boobs to go see all these first shows :)
scuba, can't u just see Joe, very seriously offering to measure someone's head...how precise he would be, lol!!
mc, as always, yer crackin me up :) Would the correct spelling be collEge perhaps? And congrats on yer 20 hours of sobriety, that's a new record fer u :) But I think yer off on the amount of time a bit, considering yesterday.
pip...u could be right, if anyone can score them, it would be Brian, LOL!!! Ohhhhhhhhh BRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIANNNNNNNNN....
and whasamatter with SMD? It says exactly what I want :) U should know that about me by now, LOL!!
cappy...I musta missed somefink...whosa hypocrite? Or should we just say n/m :)
Joe went by his gramma's old place in NY today....I miss my gramma too, she was a wonderful woman, and a lady from head to toe to the end. I used to tell her I had NO idea how she managed to stay sane while raising 5 kids, especially when u consider who they are....my aunt, and uncles are all CRAAAAAAAAAAAAAZY, lol! But so much fun :) I don't think she ever once spanked any of them (even though they likely deserved it at least 12 times a day) but man could she slay u with "the look". That's all it took to make big 6 feet tall boys quiver and quake in their shoes, LOL!!!
Love u gramma Beebah.

Cheese - he he he, it's just SMD always sounds odd (to me) coming from a lady. It should almost be SMF.... ha, see what I did there.
Incidentally, is it definitely right that SMF is sick mother f......?
An if that's right, was it referring to anyone in particular!?
Roo - here's a random one. Why do you think one of the 'boots' is called "pissed off as usual"? Either someone was being extremely sarcastic or doesn't like/doesn't know the nice Mr Joseph.... any insight?

good mornin all
Strat players:did a simple lil Eric Johnston mod last night & swapped the tone controls around...impressed you will be its tonetastic, get the soldering bolt out n give it a lash! Apparently 375k pots are a better option for single coil the standard is 250k, 500k for humbuckers

Good morning. Trekking to Little Rock today to help out a friend. New strings ,drumsticks, picks and a set of drum keys from Guitar Center is on the agenda.
Hybes- for you and the other drummers out there. Mike Portnoy As I Am ( drums only) They shot this while recording the song. You used to be able to watch the version with the full band but the record company pulled it. This guy has so much brass around him it's unbelievable. I really like his little short flurries with the double bass. And I love to watch the end (around 7:10 for the all out Blitzkrieg). Mike is one of my heroes.
Pip- thanks for the vid. Those engines are awesome but it's the transmissions in these things that amaze me. I work on my own stuff so I know how intricate these things must be. Amazing.
Bon dia tot Skip. Getting cold there yet?

Skippygirl - I love working in newspapers, but those jobs are disappearing all the time. I really think I was born 20 years too late...haha. If I were born in like 1963 instead of 1983 I'd have had several years to work at a newspaper pre-internet, and (the best part) I could've seen a lot of my favorite classic rock bands in concert in their prime. ;-)
Back to journalism, though, I think the job I find will be either a company that is almost entirely internet-based (which, if it's journalism, won't pay well) or a business/corporate thing that has very little to do with journalism but needs someone who has those skills (which would pay quite well, but could be boring unless I find something awesome). In either case, I plan on doing some writing on my own, to hopefully move into that in a few years.
This might be more than you want to know, but oh well. :-)
D_O_M - Thanks for posting that Chickenfoot interview.
It's nice to hear Joe talk about the riff to Runnin' Out (it's in the newest podcast, as well). That riff is one of my favorites from the album...it's really different for Joe.
Also, it's good to hear him say that the band doesn't feel like they need to be covering stuff from their individual careers. While I think it'd be neat to hear them do some certain rare things, doing unrelated covers is a much better idea.
mikesb - Yeah, the crowd was way into Bad Motor Scooter and Highway Star at both CA shows. I think Highway Star had the best response though because it was a true surprise. A lot of people that I talked to at the gigs were expecting Sammy-related songs in the set (although probably Rock Candy or I Can't Drive 55, but the point still stands).
ChrisNoc - Hi...welcome to the site.
It's cool that you'll be in San Francisco, as it's a wonderful city, but Joe and Chickenfoot will be in Europe during that time...so there's no chance of a meeting.
hybes - I didn't get a Chickenfoot email like you're describing...I'd say it's probably spam or a virus.
GoldenGirl2 - Thanks for the info about the interview on KFOX. I looked around on their site, though, and don't see the interview anywhere. Can you let me know if/when it's posted?
Guitarvibes - If I had to pick one favorite moment on the Chickenfoot album, it'd probably be the introduction to Turnin' Left. So...good choice on your part. ;-)
Pip Satrini - I got your email, but I'm trying to avoid listening to solo Satch until after the Chickenfoot album comes out...so my response will take a while.
And yes, you're right about the meaning of S.M.F., although I'm weird and like to joke that he wrote the song about Sacramento International Airport.
I don't know who/what the song was written about. I'm not sure if I'm right, but I've always seen the "sick" as slang for "cool" (that works in American English...I'm not sure about English English though)...despite what Urban Dictionary will tell you.
Joe, can you give us any info?
Listening to: Porcupine Tree - Signifiy (current song: Light Mass Prayers)
Good morning, east coasters! I need to get some sleep...
