Cappy Steve - well....cobber has faded out of the Aussie vernacular pretty much, whereas "mate" has become gender-neutral so I would say mate for either male or female.

For example, I went out with my mates last night, who are all female.

However to address me, you could use "gorgeous rock chick guitar shredder".

I just searched you tube for "gorgeous rock chick guitar shredder" and THIS is what we get...
Top new name, I can see this sticking.

Did anyone else notice the pics of the JS CF guitar from that link of GRCGS.

So if we're getting the full album and bonus track plus a two-song encore, that's probably about a 90-minute show time...right? Can anyone who was there confirm? I think I prefer this to fewer Chickenfoot songs and covers from everyone else thrown in the mix... Can't wait for SF (and LA)!

Walla - Awesome...thanks for sharing your thoughts on the show. :-)

HEY EVERYONE!!!

I hope all of you are staying out of mischief. I've been on the run for the past couple of weeks now, especially running season. I have my next points race this Saturday: The Warbird Road Race (10K Run). I have to go pick up my registration packet later today and later tonight, my running group and I are going to get together and hang out. Wish me luck Saturday.

Do The Stu: I'm not finding any music from The Squares as of yet. I'm still looking.

Skippygirl: You are a rock guitar chick no matter what. How's the guitar playing and exercising around the oval going for you?

Zinc Master: My results are still not posted from the Indy-Mini. I might have to call them and hopefully get this figured out.

TO EVERYONE: I hope everyone is doing well. I haven't preordered any of Chickenfoot's albums yet, but I should when I have this time. I have already signed up for more races this summer, which is awesome. Doing a marathon is still in question.

I have also started looking for another job. I plan on continuing hospitality and decided to try to work another job along with my job at the Holiday Inn. I have done it before for a short period of time.

However, I am too dependable/reliable for my hotel job. I even come in on my days off and I sacrifice my time with my running group to work because those who were scheduled can't make it, which my boss then calls me. My boss even schedules me on the days I have my running races, even though I gave him a list of the races I'm going to do, which frustrates me. The only good part is that I get paid overtime. I can't be there all the time and my boss (hopefully) should know that.

Well, I gotta run now. I have to get some lunch, pick up my race packet for tomorrow morning's race and another job application, then meet with my running group. Talk with you all later.

What's wrong with Indy ??

Go kick them in the backside and have them set the records straight !!

No more long races for me this year - nothing over 6, I think.

Next year, though, maybe something longer.

Great news. I just ordered Chickenfoot's CD (Album) & Vinyl. YEAH!!!

Zinc Master: Just saw your post. I'll give the people a call and talk to them about it. No more than 6, huh? That's cool. You do what is best for you my running friend. Hopefully, you and I can meet and run sometime. I am planning on doing the Indy-Mini next year, and maybe book a hotel room as well. Stay in touch man.

Blue_Moon: By the way, how's it going with you? Hopefully you are not drinking too much these days.

GoldenGirl2: Sorry that I missed chatting with your husband Steve. I am glad to hear that he is doing well. Steve, how are you holding up man? I'm glad to hear you are doing well. You should be blessed to have a wonderful wife. My prayers go out to you and Millie. Keep in touch my friend. Best to you. Millie, how are you doing? You probably read my earlier post already. How is your job going? I am about ready to find a second, or another, job myself. Prayers to you and keep in touch.

By the way, to those who brought up the chocolate ordeal again, I love any kind of chocolate, especially the ones that have nuts, coconut, or fruit filling inside. Heck, I'll eat any kind of chocolate: Dove, Belgian, DeBrand's, Dark, Hershey's, etc.

I gotta run everyone, I'll let you all know how Saturday's race went. See ya!!!

Review from VHLinks. Pretty positive so far!

Also, a different take on the fire marshall situation on Sammy's website (you have to create an account to view it) from some guy who apparently got the bad end of the deal:

I'm really surprised to hear people say it was a great show. I'm sure the band was good, but the venue totally overbooked it, the fire marshall showed up, and people weren't allowed to go from the bar into the stage area so a ton of people (inculding myself) who paid for the show didn't even really get to see it. It was SO overcrowded that there were cops and fire marshalls hanging around. It was completely awful. I hate this venue to begin with. It's a total and complete piece of crap. But what they did last night (or the ticket outlet or whoever was responsible) was absolutely horrifying.

That's really too bad that the promoter apparently oversold the show. I hope the guys in the band hear about this and decide to do something for those fans. I'm sure this was not their intent.

ARLINGTON CEMETERY - Jeopardy Question

On Jeopardy the other night, the final question was How many steps does the guard take during his walk across the tomb of the Unknowns ---- All three missed it -- This is really an awesome sight to watch if you've never had the chance, Very fascinating. Tomb of the Unknown Soldier

1. How many steps does the guard take during his walk across the tomb of the Unknowns and why?

21 steps. It alludes to the twenty-one gun salute, which is the highest honor given any military or foreign dignitary.

2. How long does he hesitate after his about face to begin his return walk and why?

21 seconds for the same reason as answer number 1

3. Why are his gloves wet?

His gloves are moistened to prevent his losing his grip on the rifle.

4. Does he carry his rifle on the same shoulder all the time and if not, why not?

He carries the rifle on the shoulder away from the tomb. After his march across the path,he executes an about face and moves the rifle to the outside shoulder.

5 How often are the guards changed?

Guards are changed every thirty minutes, twenty-four hours a day, 365 days a year.

6. What are the physical traits of the guard limited to?

For a person to apply for guard duty at the tomb, he must be between 5' 10' and 6' 2' tall and his waist size cannot exceed 30.' Other requirements of the Guard: They must commit 2 years of life to guard the tomb, live in a barracks under the tomb, and cannot drink any alcohol on or off duty for the rest of their lives. They cannot swear in public for the rest of their lives and cannot disgrace the uniform {fighting} or the tomb in any way. After two years, the guard is given a wreath pin that is worn on their lapel signifying they served as guard of the tomb. There are only 400 presently worn. The guard must obey these rules for the rest of their lives or give up the wreath pin.

The shoes are specially made with very thick soles to keep the heat and cold from their feet. There are metal heel plates that extend to the top of the shoe in order to make the loud click as they come to a halt.

There are no wrinkles, folds or lint on the uniform. Guards dress for duty in front of a full-length mirror.

The first six months of duty a guard cannot talk to anyone, nor watch TV. All off duty time is spent studying the 175 notable people laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery . A guard must memorize who they are and where they are interred. Among the notables are: President Taft, Joe E. Lewis {the boxer} and Medal of Honor winner Audie Murphy, {the most decorated soldier of WWII} of Hollywood fame.

Every guard spends five hours a day getting his uniforms ready for

guard duty.

Since I was the free ticket winner for last night’s El Corazon debut I s’poze I owe y’all a word or two. First, though – many, many thanks to Joe for making these opportunities available to all us fans. It is so verrrrrrrry cool of you!

I guess since this is a Road Test we can’t officially post reviews for this part of the tour, but I’ll say a few things here. We showed up at the gig around 6pm and there were lines heading down either end of the block depending on how you got your ticket.

As the contest winner I was on the band guest list so we just hung out right in front of the main entry until called. We were the first ones let into the venue and I picked the obvious perfect spot in the bar area along a rail overlooking the floor and stage – directly in front of Joe. There was a camera tripod right next to us that turned out to belong to Joe’s crew and, as a result, we were able to say hello in person to our excellent Webmaster.

This was one of those events where it didn’t pay to be a concert snob; showing up only when you think the main act is or already has taken the stage. We got in early, held our ground, and enjoyed an absolutely stunning performance, as did the overwhelming majority of the crowd in the main floor area. But those who staggered in late were, admittedly, at a serious disadvantage. We experienced absolutely no problems whatsoever and the show was just unreal from our vantage point.

As we hung out waiting we watched Mike fine tune Joe’s guitars while the security crew got organized. Opener Amyjo Savannah came out for her sound check and sounded great in that empty room, and we told her so. The doors opened and the place began to fill up and was packed by the official 8pm starting time. By 8:45 the crowd was getting restless and Mike generously grabbed Amyjo’s Ovation and started tweaking it too.

Around 9pm Amyjo took the stage but was at a serious disadvantage with the restless crowd and a weak house sound system. I’ll be damned, though, if she didn’t hold her ground. That was one tough gig for a solo acoustic opener with a crowd that only wanted to rock, and rock it hard.

Well they soon got exactly what they came for. This band is good. These songs are good. It is unbelievable how well these guys played together. Look, not many people are up to the task of taking a stage with 12 totally unheard songs and completely annihilating their audience - from beginning to end. Think about it – who on earth stands a chance of pulling that one off?

Yes, it was that good. Chad on the drums was pure joy to watch – what he is doing here just fits so well and he is so animated about it. Plain and simple - Sammy and Michael are just pure rockhounds. OMG - Sammy is such a screamer!

They played the songs just as like they appears on the CD, with lp-only Bitten by the Wolf tossed in the middle. Yes, Joe did bring out the double neck and started into an old Rolling Stones tune that Sammy wasn’t quite sure of (wow, was that “It’s All Over Now?”) but then broke into Bitten instead. Joe could not have been in better form and had a few new tricks up his sleeve.

Apparently a disgruntled (drunk/snobby) ticket holder called the police, who called the fire department, which put the show on hold for about 20 minutes following My Kinda Girl. All is fair in rock and roll, I suppose, but hey - what a way to crank up the Road Test. As demonstrated last night, nothing will be able to stop these guys.

Things got straightened out and they fired back up with Learning To Fall right on through the simply stunning Future in the Past. Like I said – Joe has never been in better form – constantly pulling off some flawlessly awesome stuff. Hendrix was definitely in the house. Scooter and Star formed the encore and were presented as extended rockouts. Just perfect. Absoluetly no complaints here whatsoever. Thanks again Joe – Rock ON!

ranjack - Thanks for sharing your review. You should be able to post it on the road page using this link:

http://www.satriani.com/perl/2004/review-add

The "r" doesn't show up on the page unless there's already a review there...and there isn't, yet.

I didn't realize there was an opener...I don't think the average member of the crowd will like that, but I always enjoy hearing new music so I think it's cool. Do you know if she's opening for the entire tour?

Anyway...welcome to the site. Have you seen any Satch solo shows before? What are some of your favorite Satch songs and albums?

And, lastly, congrats on winning the free ticket!
