Ibanezplyr - that's great news about your leg. Wish you well
Cheese - ha, yeah, we should split a presidential suite and party on down for however many days straight. There'd only be one man left standing I reckon
Peace Lily - great that you're catching a show. Which state?
Michelle - as long as you make one show, that's what I meant really.
Skippy - oh but Mrs Miaggi, been there, done that, piece of cake... fingers crossed for you though, hopefully it'll all come together. There'll be some Oz dates for sure

Alan, I hear they eat Irish people where you're going. Better stay home.
Skippy, they said last year was going to be a bad winter, and it was. Snow out the wazoo! No idea what it's going to be this year? I can't remember Joe touring the east coast in December or January. We are usually blessed with his presence in the Spring or Fall. Plenty of ski places in PA. I gave up skiing after my first trip. I realized slippery sticks under my feet were not conducive to my lifestyle. lol!
JOE, Australia is calling you!
Wait, maybe we should tell Joe which city. I hear it's a big place. lol!

The Dave Matthews Band announced today that they're taking 2011 off from touring. They've said they'll be back in 2012, but if you haven't seen them and want to you should try to catch a show this summer.
More from Billboard:
Dave Matthews Band has been the biggest ticket seller on the planet in this millennium, moving a staggering 11,230,696 tickets to 547 shows in 2000-2009, according to Billboard Boxscore. No other band topped 10 million in attendance for the period. The DMB gross for that period was $505,447,901, and this does not count Matthews' solo work or DMB's numerous festival appearances.
Also worth noting is their ticket prices are among the lowest I've seen for bands that tour amphitheaters. The most expensive tickets this year are about $75, and they've only increased by about $5 per year for the past few tours.
Anyway...

Thanks M! Hmmm so you reckon most likely west coast shows huh?
You coming over for the Oz shows? You'd be very welcome.
See how I am now saying that there ARE Oz shows lol?
Peace - sounds fab have a great weekend.
Al - I absolutely love Thailand been there a few times. The islands are lovely, however if you are going to Phuket on the Andaman sea side don't swim in the ocean it's chock full of stinging jellyfish just stay in the pool.
If you're going to Koh Samui you'll fit right in it's now a party isle ( when I first went it was undiscovered really) so try out Koh Tao. Koh Phangan is now the rave isle I'm told, a shame cos it is stunningly beautiful and you used to be able to have a timber shack on the beach for $1.50 per night for 2.
All of south-east Asia is wonderful and cheap too. The people are lovely too.
Best to take a big sunhat though for Irish white skin.

My random Satriani thought of the day:
Hey Joe,
Just wanted to say thanks again for playing with the Living Colour guys on the Experience Hendrix tour... (those guys are awesome... as was everyone on the tour) I was rewatching one of the performances of "All Along the Watchtower" from youtube, and was just thinking back to taking in the show in Chicago and how great the "Experience" really was.

Sooo.... This prototype blue Ibanez that Joe was playing on the Experience Hendrix tour... Has anyone read or heard anywhere if that is going to be a production model or is is something Joe had the custom shop make up specifically for that tour?? JOE???
All I ever saw about it was in the music radar blog where Joe mentioned that he was using a prototype. It sure was a beautiful guitar, and it sounded wonderful. It would be a great addition to the JS line. I notice musicians friend has the white JS2400's for $1999, and they ship for free right now.
Pre ordered the Weiner CD today, and Jeff Beck's new release is on my wish list; I hear it's really good...

hey joe i seen your video about how you love guitar pedals but some of the older ones dont work and you can't get parts. I custom build guitar amps and effects. Ive been building them for years. Let me know which ones are broken. chances are i might have the schematic, I probably already built it and can fix yours. Your right, electronics part mainly the chips change over the years. like for example. most flangers and chours pedals used a sad1024 bucket brigade chip. that's how it modulates and gets its sound. well, they don't make it. but what we do is we find an equivalent part such as ca3007. the catch is that 1024 is a dual chip(2 functions in one package) and 3007 is one, so you have to use 2. Then I update the schematic and make another circuit board layout pattern, burn a board, solder parts, and fire it up. Now i have a flanger almost to original specs and it really made no difference to the sound or performance. cool huh! oh I also have been a big fan of your music since 86, and Ihave been playing sacth song since!! And chickenfoot sounds great!! ok take care
