Roo, it's also more than Germany and France combined!! That's serious flooding.
All made worse I suspect by the floods of tears as the mighty mighty England lay waste to Australian cricket!

PortlandAxe, I agree Joe rocked the house last night and Portland was plenty into it!! My hands actually hurt from clapping so hard and so much. My throat hurt too afterwards too. How strange that wise coming from an instrumental guitar rock concert lol. I've never been a fan of the song "Crowd Chant", but after experiencing it live last night and being so into it, I have a new respect for that song. My only beefs with the concert last night were there wasn't enough time for more Joe classics and I thought the drums was a bit too loud. I wish they would turn Galen up a bit more. Other than that, the show was everything I could have ever imagined and more. I'm SO JEALOUS you got to meet THE MAN!!

Yes, we all made it here safe and sound...biggest ordeal of our trip was finding parking in San Francisco, LOL!! Mc and JJ had their own stories...The roads were decent, not at all as bad as I feared they may be. But I had my chains just in case!!
Went to an Italian restaurant where right out of the gate the guy who seated us was rude to our friend JJ...that started the tone for the whole evening...that and Mckenna being late and having "Issues", LOL! But it was a good evening, rowdy until the lights went out (even then it took a few to settle down...a lot like summer camp, LOL!!)
So now...I'm up just after 6:30, the rest are still snoozing and I'm checking the puter....coffee next. Hope the weather is decent today, we're going to go exploring :)
JJ brought a t shirt for Mc, and fabric pens...we're going to scribble on it all week to decorate it for him...of course there will be rude comments and images put on, I'm sure, LOL!!
Meanwhile, my thoughts and prayers go out to all affected by the flooding in Australia. I used to have family in Brisbane and have visited the country before. Devastating :(

Zyko demon- LOL that's so funny! It was such a good show! I thought for crowd chant we did pretty good but summer song coulda been better!! It was funny cause I had watched vids on youtube and live in paris so much I knew it was a call and response so I was doing it but it totally sounded like in the beginning I was alone.. I still went with it then all the bulding got the idea when Joe kept moving his hands. Where were you seated? Shoot me an email. I got tons of pics!
Sandy- thank you doll! :)

Kayla- I think we were a pretty good crowd. At least compared to Reno 08. I really enjoyed the "intimate" size of the venue. The sound was just right (for me, at least), although Galen was a little quiet there, too. I didn't go to hear Galen, though. Haha! I thought the crowd was going to be lame-o until Joe broke out Satch Boogie. I really wasn't all that excited to hear it again, but when the crowd started screaming my perspective changed! I thought it was cool that pretty much everyone in the house got into Crowd Chant too.
I was a little bummed that nobody picked up on the call and response at the beginning of Summer Song, but then again a LOT of the people I talked to had never seen Joe live before including DVD's, so part of me wasn't surprised. I didn't really know what to think of Joe's rendition of Wind in the Trees, I think he just kind of started playing and took it somewhere far, far away. Definitely a far stretch from what he was playing in October!
Mahavishnu- Great to meet you and your wife again, even better that our seats were right next to each other! You guys are way too kind, and I look forward to seeing you again Friday night!
Tracie- Our plan (for now) is to leave Idaho on Thursday, around 3, and drive straight to Reno. We are staying at Harrah's until Saturday morning and heading back. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we don't run in to nasty weather on the way down, otherwise we may end up having to stay in Winnemucca for the night. Either way, we should be in Reno no later than noon on Friday (worst case). I'll have to run it by the wife, but I'm sure we'd be down for dinner before the show. We don't have any other plans anyway! Austin and I have already traded numbers, not sure if he is going though. If you want my #, you can get if from him or I can email it to you.
Sorry for the long post!!
Ian

Ian- Yeah I thought we were a good croud! The whole venue got up and was into Crowd Chant, I thought it was GREAT!!!! Summer Song yeah, that could have been better lol.. Not gonna lie though, once he started playing Big Bad Moon, I stood up before Alan was trying to get us to and I had a BLAST with that, Crowd Chant, and Summer Song!!! LOL.... I got Jeff's drum stick and 3 guitar pics too :D. I thought it was cool how a lot of people just went right up to the stage!

So I have some questions.. is it normally eaiser to learn to play sitting down or standing up? For learning, what is the right things to play to begin?
JOE- for the Spokane meet and greet you answered to a question about if someone is playing and they just absolutly have to play a song, even though they have never played, how do you respond to that in the state of telling them what they should do and whats the best thing for them to start out with in that paticular song? Take Always With me Always with you for example.

If you only play sitting down, you're prolly gonna have a hard time playing standing up. Then again, if you never need to stand up to play, it's all gravy.
sort it out peanuthead. lol!

I knew I wasn't losing my mind when I said they didn't play "Surfing With The Alien" last night, though both my brother and step dad said he did. Thanks again for the setlist.

Finally home !!! The trip back home was a little delayed had to wait for the Columbia river Gorge to melt a little snow & ice off the free-way before we headed home.
So anyway the meet n greet was awesome , People had some interesting questions for JOE..although as I was kind of feeling tougue tied I could not think of any good questions. My hubby told JOE that JOES music relaxed me & helped my nerves which kinda made me blush ... I guess that might be how my husband see's it however I just love the music...depends on the song what emotion it makes me feel.
As PortlandAxe said -Joe is just great to meet... very patient with the fans even ones that almost walk off with out getting their photo taken... (me) HA HA .... It was one of the high points of my life having this experience & it was just as awesome as I thought it would be . My husband is now a JOE fan too, he really enjoyed meeting Joe.
The concert was so full of energy I could hardly sit. All in all it was great and I met a lot of great Joe fans too...
PortlandAxe it was great to meet ya & you can bet that if JOE comes to PORTLAND again- I will be there...

savoie2008, I lost my Satch Cherry at the Roseland too. lol
It was a New Year's Eve show, and right as it struck midnight Joe went into Killer Bee Bop, it was a real frenetic with everyone hugging, kissing and rocking. I remember looking up at the band (trio) to see if they were going to stop, Nope the Bee Bop continued

Tracie--Correction on previous post. I said Wednesday...Not Wed......See you Thursday....tomorrow! I'm glad you're having fun with Mc. I can't wait to meet you all tomorrow.
Al--See you tomorrow afternoon. We will be standing in line for will call as usual. Wish we could get some line numbers from the venue.......I guess that would be asking to much. How's a person look after themselves without losing their place in line?
I guess we'll find out.
Joe, I can't wait to see you, Jeff, Mike and Allen at the show Thursday!

Thank you so much Joe for taking the time to talk to us and sign our stuff. I can't tell you how appreciative I am for you to take the time to sign my guitars and guitars I brought for good friends. I wish we could have spent more time together so I could have let you know how much I love your music and how cool I think you are to take the time to make your fans feel special. I wish I would have had the nerve to tell you how special you are to me and how over the past 20+ years you have given me strength when I so needed it and inspiration where none existed. Years ago I frequented this website begging for a chance to meet you, and as you always have you listened to you fans and provided "Club Joe". I just experienced the time of my life to finally get to know you just a little more and to actually touch someone who means the world to me. Thank you so much, I had the time of my life.

Al will be wearing a disguise. I can't tell you what he'll be wearing. It could be his kilt & fake red beard, or maybe he'll have his hair up under his hat & his Bubba teeth in & shades on, or maybe he'll have on his Elvis jumpsuit? All I can say is look for someone wearing a BOOBIES bracelet. I wonder if he'll wear the neon green shirt that he made with AL LOVES MILLIE written all over it? You'll just have to wait and see :-) Have fun!!
Say Goodnight Dick.
rojowal, now ya done gone and did it and we have to have a Swayze moment!
lol!
