Hey Joe, thanks for the tour stop in Portland on 1-11-11!!!
It was truly a night I'll NEVER forget!! I also wanted to say that I picked up The Satriani model VOX Amplug and love it!! Thank you for putting out a wonderful product. Now playing along on "Light Years Away" is like a Satriani Rock and Roll fantasy camp.
I am looking forward when you come around again. Either solo or with Chickenfoot. You are a huge influence in my desire to be a great guitar player. Seeing your performance helps me keep my dream alive.
Until next time Satchman.....

Scub and peace- I totally understand what you guys are saying, and thank you :). He didnt give me any sleeping pills, he just told me take the anti depressants and in combination with the melatonin (which I have takin already) it should start helping. He also told me to just rest and do NOTHING for the next few days and that should help. I go back to the doc in 2 weeks just to see how its all going. I have NEVEr been the type to get addicted to anything not that I have done anything lol, but like drinking i can drink and never get addicted to it, but then again if I have one beer im like wasted! lol. I dont like the feeling of things like that. I guess I just need to really clear my head and just listen to more music and start playing guitar and escape! I just thought it was funny that he told me to start listening to a lot more Joe and play guitar! haha. I personaly feel happy! How could I not be ya know!

Hi Peace------Yeah those really are lovely songs...
Here's a sad note about Etta James. She is in ailing health Lukemia and Dementia. not looking good for her at all. She lives in my neighborhood, she's resided here for years, trips me out that someone so famous lives in my neighborhood. Plenty of wealthy people here though that's for sure. Once me and my X are pretty sure we saw Ric Ocasek and his model wife Paulina next to us in a Ferrari...Back in the 90's. They were next to us on the street. Always wonder who else besides Etta (famous) is by me....Anyways- Thoughts and prayers out to her :(
She's really in bad shape.
Also, Just read from David Bowie.Net that Nile Rodgers has contracted Cancer, but seems he is doing better.
Im feeling rather sad today even though im going to see Joe tommorow. ...totally sucks.
This is life aint it..sigh
Im happy for Aretha Franklin, David Bowie just turned 64 this month and he had his own health scare back in '04 and ever since he has grown really silent. Just is breaking my heart because I have become such a HUGE fan this past month or so. Just love and adore him so much. I may never get to see him Live, and i've missed so much of him....it just really really sucks.
Anywho....guitar time hopefully I will feel better :-l

I doubt Joe reads these, but just in case.
Joe,
I love the new album. You lost me, I'll admit, on Professor Satchifunkelis... and Chickenfoot. But you're back and better than ever!

Hi,and welcome to the site.
If you feel you are lost with any of Joe's music then you haven't listened properly.I realize that some of his material can sound a little overwhelming/underwhelming at times, but if you take the time to sit in a dark room with headphones on and really listen to whats happening throughout the entire soundscape, you'll start to understand and appreciate exactly what Joe is trying to convey to the listener.
Hope this encourages you (and some others on this site!!! ) to be more open minded to what Joe is expressing. After all, isn't that why we're all here???
Cheers

Joe Satriani at the Limelight, 1987 Have we already seen this?? It was posted in Sept 2010, but I don't remember ever catching this vid...fun to watch again even if so.
JJ and Mc are at the show in LA right now, Joe is prolly close to going onstage....I know they'll have a fantastic time!
Brian, can't wait for your pics, they're always so good. I'll prolly get mine up tomorrow as well, we'll see.
Mostly tonight is devoted to being in my own bed for the first time in a week....dunno how Joe manages with his touring schedule. A person can do anything if they want or have to for however long it takes and get by, but yer own bed just can't be beat. Plus now I won't have to listen to any snoring...if I snore, I wouldn't know and it doesn't bother me :)

Hi. I am new here. My son's(7 years old) first concert Jan 9 in Spokane WA. We drove down from our little mountain village of Kimberley B.C. to witness the show. I felt good knowing the music would be great learning experience for a youngster.
I love the new line up and sound and the improv that takes place with the new stuff. Thanks for keeping Campo in the line up. He is really showing his style and that works wonders for the new approach. Thank you Spokane. The Bing Crosby Theater is cool. And to the snow gods. Thanks for the wicked year!
Satch. Check out the Kootenays in British Columbia next time you go riding..the snow is HUGE!

Finally made it back from Nevada about an hour ago. Like Tracie, I am looking forward to sleeping in my own bed tonight! Although I do pretty well on the road thanks to Ambien, lol. I've been taking it every night for about 3 years now, but there is no plan for me to come off of it, so I'm not too worried about it. Same applies to the basket-full of other meds that I take. I wouldn't be too well off if it weren't for those, but indeed some doctors do simply see you, write you a script, and send you on your way. It's all about establishing a good relationship with a good doctor.
Aaaaaaannnyway....
Part of me kind of didn't want to come back. The weather was SOO nice in Reno, and we went to Tahoe today and had lunch at the Cabo Wabo. Now it's back to Boise with rain and upper 30's..
I'll try to get my pics from Spokane and Reno sorted and posted tomorrow. Unfortunately my attempt at a "bootleg" of the Spokane show failed miserably, so that went straight to the recycle bin. Thinking about investing in a Zoom H2 Handy Recorder or something similar for that purpose.
