Do The Stu - you sure you replied to my email?

Went to see X-men Origins (thanks for the prompt) today, sheesh you can't complain about a movie where you see Hugh Jackman sans shirt for nearly the whole thing :-). I thought the computer animations and graphics were fantastic.

funny, I thought the CGI in that movie were incredibly dull and fake looking...

Today would have been John Bonham's 61st birthday, so everyone needs to blast some Led Zeppelin at some point.

Moby Dick is the obvious choice (go here for the version from The Song Remains The Same), but I've always thought Bonzo's Montreux was the better solo so that's what I'm going with.

It's been a few weeks since I saw it, but I thought the CGI in Wolverine was better than it is in most movies today. I enjoyed the film quite a bit (and Hugh Jackman being shirtless had nothing to do with it...!). It was cool to see Gambit on the big screen, I thought.

It's not as good as the first film, but I'd say it's better than 3 and close to 2 (I haven't seen that one recently so I can't make a fair comparison).

Good morning (once again), east coast!

...Austin...

Would you believe I was just ripping "Mothership" into the puter and was reading the CD liner again about Bonham and how he died almost 12 years to the day they were first signed - now that's spooky!!

Michelle and marimari - you anywhere in this vid from ChickenPA?

JSPhil: It depends on the course....which is good and bad; as some are veeery flat, but affected by wind, whereas others are slightly undulating but more sheltered. Swings and roundabouts as they say...Should be doing one soon anyhoo, so I'll see how it goes. Senna real;y was a great guy...Pity there weren't more like him for this guy: Roger Williamson.
DoTheStu: What do you think of Sex and Religion then? (having seen you listening to Touching Tongues)...personally I find it a lot more hit and miss than other like Alien Love Secrets...

Listening to: S.M.F by Joe (not because of all the discussion about the name though...honest :)

Zf:Its the horn growin either side above Johns eyes that worry me lol

Other option if you like your pickup tone but want rid of the hum....Scott Henderson Suhr strat with Suhr noiseless system kit looks like This but unfortunately costs "scroll down t bottom" 325 bucks a tad pricey

Guitarvibes:That pickup is hot enough t fry eggs! theres also a mountain of options how t wire spec it 2 yer needs....i take its better screwed down flush t the body a mile from the strings t get note definition with that kind of output?¿

Skippy, you found us! lol! My husband and I are in the bottom left corner at about 1:50ish. I have on a bracelet and I'm holding my camera with one hand. My husband is behind me. We're about 2 ppl. away from the guy in the bandanna. Mari is to our right. She's standing with another blonde to her left who was in front of me. You can see Mari lose her mind once the song gets into it. It was great! Sammy effed the song up pretty good, but the band was tight. My memory stick ran out just as Mikey started the scream at the beginning. I'm kinda glad it did at that point because then I got to rock out a bit myself without having to worry about the camera. My pictures weren't coming out so great, so I switched to video and pretty much kept it that way. I have 6 vids up for anyone interested.

Avenida Revolution

Bitten By The Wolf

Mayhem of the Foot

Future is the Past

Bad Motor Scooter - Chad was whippin' sticks like a mofo - hence my scream. lol! One hand on a camera don't make for a good game of catch. lol!

and the one I posted above in my post.

It was a killer show. The guys were having so much fun, and Joe was a red hot on FIIII-YAAAAAH as ever. lol!

edit - my camera is a Sony CyberShot DSC-W90

Sunday morning and all is well. Steve and I are preparing for tomorrow and a whole day at Stanford U Hospital.

Alan--great answering the call for help--life line in the land of Eire!

Can I leave those I love? It would be foolishness and destruction to isolate. How can I not let you know how my Steve is doing when you met him here? I'm better than that!!

All the best to Eire's rugby team and USA's team. Hope it's a good game and well played! May the BEST team win! I have no bias here. To me a match is a match.....a game with good will and happiness stuff.....a reminder of Steve (the victorious) Vai.

Check in here with ya'll on Tuesday.

Cheers to all!

roy, I was just gonna suggest the Suhr mod, but I agree, it's expensive... It's worth it though... I get to see Scott Henderson every week at school and his guitar is virtually noise free...

Hey Satchland..

The SwingDogs played at the 1st annual IROMA (Iron Range Original Music Association) Summer Kick-Off. A bunch of peeps up here put it together to showcase bands & singer/songwriters who play original tunes. Finally...some people who are tired of listening to bands butcher cover songs...lol. It went extremely well...the place was packed. Hope to have some footage from the event soon.

well, Suhr is now doing a mod that goes directly inside the pickup cavity and the website says that one fights noise even better than the backplate one, because the pickups are closer to the thing... Now, that mod is like 500 bucks, so I won't be trying it any time soon... I don't even know if that one is available to non-Suhr guitars...
