Slansh : sounding Telecaster twang with a YJM Strat is insane.
Goldengirl2 : hum.. i'm not sure to catch your point.
I supposed that Mr Vai would have taken a Superstrat or an Ibanez to do the picture. In fact, it's what he has done.. He's born under the sign of the searching Superstrat Charvel, the finding Strateinstein evh, & one of the greatest conclusion of these old time : the Satch Boodie Charvel. The Humbucker progression. Personnaly, i can't left the single coil Boat. If this means something.
MariSRV : hi my friend. I'm fine. I'm just back from a wonderful rock prog festival, with very good musicians on stage, & an incredible human being in the organization. Hard to come back to reality. How are you? Good luck for the job..

Slan : according to some knowledgeable players, Telecaster > Strat for jazz. Talkin' in general, of course.
My opinion about your searching.. well, you go where you want, but don't forget your work onto your Yamaha. You get a wonderful tone with it.
Keep us posted for your neoyjm exploration. I will check your page.

Cube : yeap; Mike Stern is a killer..
About Tele vs Strat on jazz tone, & just talking about USA electric standard series, i've tried the both, & that with just two pedals : tube screamer + chorus. I know that Gambale has done good jazz job with the strat, but i had to conclude that the Tele is more responsive.

You have to go to that website and buy the album to enter the meet with the band and a JS100.
Did I get that right (ref Skippy's post) Guitarvibes?

Skippy (Pip) you have the chance to win 2 tickets for the Bospop festival, a meet-n-greet and an Ibanez guitar IF you order the Chickenfoot album at a certain online shop. (I ordered long ago at a much much cheaper shop abroad. And Bospop is farrrr away. And I will see CF indoors in a place near ME ;-) So f it.

gotta have joe: Wow...congrats on the scholarship. I've got all that coming up over here as well, so hopefully I'll get some of it paid for :) What are you hoping to study?

mike: Ah yes...good point :) Tele has a slightly more pointy head than a Strat as well...good for poking eyes that. (or so I'm told...:)
