Igneous- yes I had a spiked mullet with long hair ( below the shoulders) Now I shave my head (not to look cool like Joe but because I have none on top).

Thanks for the greetings and well wishes in whatever language.

I only took a semester of French I can read most of the phrases and get really close on the dialect but for the most part I could not tell you what I said.

I can read and understand about 60% in Spanish. If I had to go to France or Mexico and rely on speaking the language, I'd be in trouble.

Off to work, You all enjoy your day/ night

burly: Well at least you got the gist of what I said....
All these languages are beginning to confuse me....except the afrikaans, the made sense oddly enough. Probably because Dutch is fairly similar to German and as scuba said, afrikaans is fairly similar to Dutch...Also, gibt es einige Personen die Deutsch sprechen?

pics from the Chickenfoot show at the Fillmore

These came from Brian (Mahavishnu)...his camera is fantastic! Security was firm on no flash, so all I took were crappy pics, but Brian's turned out great!! And he said they could be posted on t2j :)

Thanks again Brian and Debbie for a great trip with you both!

I've only had a chance to post one song from Tuesday's show so far: Bitten By The Wolf

More will come (plus pictures!) as I get time. Unfortunately the next couple of days are looking pretty busy...

It’s not a rumour; it’s the real thing,” says CHICKENFOOT guitarist JOE SATRIANI, on the eventuality of more dates for North America as ‘feet start walkin’. “We have over… between August 2 and September 30, there’s a 34 city tour that is almost completely booked at the moment. Generally with the way those things go, they wait ‘til the very last shows before they release the dates, before they do the press release and say, ‘OK, get your tickets now.’ So we are, starting, whatever it is, the night after tomorrow, whatever, in Chicago, all the way through September, we’re completely booked. Between North America and Europe. And once those get released, we’ll start looking beyond September 30.”

Good news for those who have been edged out of the sold-out small venue dates for Chickenfoot, comprised of SAMMY HAGAR (ex-VAN HALEN), Michael Anthony (ex-Van Halen), Chad Smith (RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS) and the afore-speaking Satchmo.

“Well, the thing that surprised me the most, that would be the most telling, would be that an unlikely group of characters get together and discover they have a lot in common, that they would never have guessed. And so, from a distance you would say, a Chili Peppers guy with Joe Satriani? How does that work? But it turns out, that all of us, as we would play in a circle, two feet away from each other, we would be constantly surprised about how much we have in common, with the decades of music we play and like, from the ‘50s, ‘60s, the ‘70s, the ‘80s, that it turns out that we were all sort of crazy music fans. And that’s what really glued us together and turned us into a band that sounded like more than just the obvious influences, the ones that you would guess.”

Guitarvibes--I finally finished reading Only in Holland, Only the Dutch. Wow! What a progressive country! I wanna visit the museums and Cafe's and the "famous fountain" of the BITS! Hee hee!! ;-D Surprisingly, the aroma of skunk weed is more pleasant than tobacco--cigarette and cigar smoke!

At the Fillmore, it seemed like everyone around Steve and me were smoking weed.........it got to the point I was laughing about it because I just wanted to see and hear Joe's awesome guitars and his amazing genius and his interaction with Sammy, Mikey and Chad who have amazing gifts as musicians and can stand on their own. The haze of smoke really was funny. I wonder sometimes if the US had coffee shops or cannabis shops like the Netherlands, would people feel compelled to bring joints to smoke at rock concerts? Is it that universal?.......not that I haven't experienced this at other concerts, but the USA seems to have de facto "coffee shops" at rock concerts and I wonder if I am more or less tolerant of this goin' on. As long as I don't have to put the stuff to my face I guess it's ok. I have often thought about what cannabis tea tastes like.......also I remember in the 1970s hearing people sprinkling the dried leaves in brownies and other food for parties.......getting stoned without knowing why or do ppls even care! Hahaha!

Anyway, my friend from grade school called me last night and I broke down crying and said I didn't know why she even bothered to call a depressed old sod like me......In her usual cheerful (glass is half-full) manner she told me to keep my head up and that I am just as much a valued friend today as I was years ago when we first met. Now that made me cry even more......happy tears this time! Where would I be today without my sisters, "brothers", friends and hubby? I sure couldn't have gone it alone. So grateful for friends and family..........and so glad I found Joe, Steve Vai, Steve Morse and all the other great guitarists and T2J......LIFE LINES!!!

For Chickenfoot merchandise, they had I think 2 men's t shirts and 1 ladies t shirt, cool posters, bucket hats, CF logo silver key chains.....I'm not sure if there was anything else cuz I bought all those in a flurry, LOL...but they were very cool :)

As to the shirt sizes, all I can say is they run what we expect...a large feels like a large.

Jamie, drop me an email if yer still interested in a Chickenfoot poster....I got you one, but it's not autographed, they didn't have any of those in the booth to buy, just a regular poster, but it's cool! If you don't want it, no worries, I'll happily keep it :) Got Chris one too and he's already got it framed and on the wall.

Wonder when the guys leave for Chicago....today maybe?? I WISH WE WERE THERE FER THAT SHOW TOO, LOL!!

Blue_Moon - No, I didn't go to In-N-Out before the SF or LA gigs. I did go there for lunch today, though...it's so nice to be surrounded by so many of them that I don't need a special occasion to go there. ;-)

cosmic_ape - Venue security almost always looks the other way regarding smoking at concerts, whether it's cigarettes or weed. Most outdoor venues are nonsmoking in the seating area, but people still get away with smoking there too. It bugs me, but oh well...

Random fact of the day: An anagram of "Joe Satriani" is "raise a joint"...

Igneousiceman--I think you may be a year or so older than young Alan Mc......I can't tell......you guys look sooo young to this half-centurion!

I like your covers of Joe's songs....The Ten Words with your Dad turned out well for a rehearsal.....I think you'll pass the audition next time round......and maybe get to jam with Steve Vai or Steve Morse?? Even "old" ppl like me can dream!!

Is Wolfram Alpha a learning center for musicians or is there more to it?
