Sad hing is that podcasts mean that Joe Has to work himself extra hard during the tour...we don't want him to get burnt out!

So I listened to the Chickenfoot album in my car yesterday, and I have to say it's already up there with some of my favorite "driving" albums (others on that list include Aerosmith's Pump and Velvet Revolver's Contraband). I went to the gym tonight, and the album passes the "workout test" as well...haha.
scubadaz - I didn't really think of the Steven Tyler comparison until you mentioned it, but yeah...I guess I can hear it in there a bit.
I am so impressed with Sammy's vocal delivery on this record. He's 61 and sings better than people half his age.
Listening to: Dave Matthews Band - Big Whiskey & The GruGrux King (current song: Lying In The Hands Of God)

scubadaz - I'm a huge Aerosmith fan...I think most posters here know that, but I'm not sure if I've mentioned that at all during the six months or so you've been here.
I'm way into collecting Aerosmith bootlegs, and to me Chickenfoot sounds a lot like some of the demos the rest of the band recorded when Steven Tyler and Joe Perry were off getting high instead of working on Draw The Line in 1977.
I found two of them on YouTube:
Krawhitham
Circle Jerk
Satch's playing throughout the album really reminds me of some of the rhythm riffs in this first track, and when Chickenfoot JAMS it reminds me of this second track (particularly how Chad uses the bell on the ride cymbal, especially live).
I don't know just how into Aerosmith you are, but I thought I'd dig these links up in case you wanted to listen. Good stuff...

Aerosmith is great
Austin- I t does sound wonderful in car audio
I thing my favorite on the cd is still "Soap on a Rope". I love the groove and I bet is super fun for Chad and Joe to play.I think this is my speeding ticket song as opposed to "Turning Left" which I do like as well.. I line "Bitten by the Wolf" a lot and am considering the digital download just for this song. It's just not complete without it.
I really like Chads style. I really have never listened to an entire RHCP album but I never heard this out of him before.
Joe's main riff on "Soap" is awesome. I like the change up on the second verse. I breaks any monotony associated with songs containing a powerful dominant riff.

chads just chad, he joined rhcp in '89 i think
but yeah he bangs away and looks second nature to em, good drummer alrite, i was a massive rhcp fan before i knew Joe still am but not as much of the newer shizzle... but nothing sounds to special, like i said just Joe jams some bluesy riffs chad picks up a nice truckin beat, mike follows suit and sammy sings about toothbrushes :)
i must give it a whirl in the cari wari :D
Peace holmes.... oh lordy would it kill my sister to wash her hands after she uses the bathroom, what a nasty individual... the joys of having a bedroom closeby to a bathroom.... she was home one day from her 11 months of travels and managed to block the sink ironicly

hi Mr.satriani
i'm glad that i can finally chat with you through your web.
i have been playing electric guitar for nearly 8 years.
i tryed to cover most of your songs.i love this.
to be honest i haven't had any teacher until now so i have to play guitar and study music theory by myself.
but i have so many hardships doing this fast and accurately.
it's my pleasure if you send me some guides or for example some lessons to learn electric guitar better.
thanks.

Hello to Joe (or anyone of influence reading this)
I joined both the Chickenfoot club and Sammy's 1013 club to take advantage of the chance to buy tickets early, as advertised. The "Road Test" tour skipped my town, but I was excited to see Cleveland added on Aug 15 for the main tour.
However, the show at the Rock Hall is now being billed as a "free show." This actually STINKS for fans like myself, because now even though I won't have to buy a ticket, I'll have to compete with casual fans and curious concertgoers and vie for positioning for a chance to see my heroes live.
In short, the $40 spent for the Chickenfoot club has been a waste (and no, I still haven't received the shirt). Isn't there anything someone can do to make that particular show in Cleveland worthwhile for the fans who PAID for the privilege of getting a little something extra, but will now be regulars in the cattle call like everyone else?

Footday for me was Saturday 6th, so not too bad. LOVIN IT.... it sounds just like it should from the ingredients!
Do The Stu - interesting about the Seymour Dunc pups in the chromey on LISF. I didn't realise that. Guess that would make it easy to spot (if they were still in it)... or did Joe have to scratch the SD logos off? LOL
Thanks for posting the archive site stuff - I remember those. I was a bit late coming on to signin up and T2J ... and finally, is that the Seinfeld restaurant on your Mspace?
Skippygirl - "pip my lovely".... where did that come from? I'll take it though ha ha. Cool that you picked up seville, was that from Roo's link?
Roo (& Skippy) - is vegemite like Marmite?
Igneousiceman - the stage antics involved Devin Townsend asking for a volunteer on stage to sing. I seem to recall Devin ended up wearing a nappy and the volunteer singer eventually got pinned to the deck and had some... er... "simulation" enacted on him. Most people found it amusing (probably relief it wasn't them), I think it just confused my Mum lol
Burly - thanks for the link. You should try
this one ha ha. I have that phone, yet to test that function though LMAO
General limit over here is 60, with 70 on motorways. Maybe you can get rid of some of the 55 frustration on your NASCAR day. The Gibson smash was not cool eh!
mikesb - ha ha, nice one. Did you have to search for long to find Gunther!?
Cheese - oh, fanfire... they're good aren't they. Joe, time to change companies methinks! Erm, I dont think I made any smart arse remarks to ya... I too scay-erd to do that lol Seriously though, nothin that I can think of right now (runs off to search all recent posts and hit edit button lol) That's really cool for Chris... did you take vids like you said?
michelle - "He also had some rockin' moves that had me raising my eyebrows and thinking some filthy dirty thoughts" ..... cold shower for you dear! Bitten by the wolf is Joe's subtle hint to us that HE is wolf : )
Scuba - the vocal delivery on "Down the drain" reminds me of RHCP's Give it Away
Blimey, 15 pages an I'm caught up already... cool

Joe,
I've been an unwavering & dedicated fan since the first time I heard your music which was on a radio station in Escondido CA in August 1988 - it was like an epiphany. Don't let the Coldplay thing eat at you. You are so better than that. Thanks for the gift of an incredible discograghy of electric guitar songs, melodies, riffs, phrases, tones, SOUNDS.....that bring tears of joy to my eyes, tears of the blues to my eyes, and goosebumps. How fortunate I feel in my lifetime to have had the gift of your music, combine that with the body of work of Jimi, and who could ask for more.
