Guitarvibes- Yeah I love Ed but get pissed at him quite a bit. I often wonder why some groups have such a good thing going and just can't keep it together. Kinda like any relationship I reckon. In a way I understand how difficult it is to keep a band together you would expect something as huge as Van Halen to endure. I guess much the same with a lot of big groups, Beatles, Doobie Bros. Police just to name a few.

For now Chickenfoot is my salvation for Sammy and Mike.

Have a great weekend all.

And "No brain" means, besides no decency, also no solo guitar album.
Paul Gilbert (what a nice bloke!) joined G3, looked, listened and learned what guitar talent can bring. Now we enjoy GOOMYand SFBADR

I would buy a guitar album from EVH...yes that would be nice.

Joe- if you see Ed, encourage him, tell him we still love him and would he please do a guitar album. Tell him Burly says get off his arse and record a freakin album!! ..No vocalist though..just the guitar.

Yeah...that's one of the things that bugs me most about Eddie. If he wants to play with his son, fine. Record an instrumental album and do a G3 tour with Wolfgang and Alex backing you for fun. Don't kick your bass player of 30 years out of your main band and then say he "left", just like you kicked out the lead singer who "left" almost 15 years ago.

I love Van Halen, and Eddie is one of my favorite guitarists...but, man. The guy has supposedly been writing songs nonstop for the past decade, but we haven't heard anything. And he keeps pushing back the date when he'll supposedly start working on his next album.

While I was waiting in line at the Fillmore for the Chickenfoot gig, I asked Tracie and our group whether we thought we'd get the second Chickenfoot album before the next Van Halen album. Most of 'em seemed to think we'd get a third Chickenfoot album before anything from VH. That's probably right...and you know what? I think I'll be happier with that, anyway...

Wolfie take your meds now.

If you, incrowdians of T2J, feel like a bit of video to slide into weekend tempo, here's some Steve Morse clinic.

Is it me or is Youtube extremely slow loading the last few days?

Good morning to Footday everyone in the US!! We have to wait till next Fri 12th for JB HiFi to get their act together.

Do The Stu - check your dm in Twitland, hope you get your CD signed by the guys. Bugger we can't get the Tonight Show here but hopefully someone will post it on youtoob, or better still if some T2Jers could post a report it will still be Sat afternoon here. Austin can you tweet from the instore pretty pleez, pics would be great?

burly - morning mate, sounds like the crops are coming along just fine, if you get the chance to whisk Mrs burly off to a CF weekend (hey she can always shop!) wouldn't that be wonderful?? You'll get 2 tours before we even get one.

Well at least we have a long weekend here so 3 days off woo hoo. Huge family BBQ tomorrow so I'll see my bro and play guitar with him, I hope I can play Father and Son and he actually recognises it ;0).

There is a recent interview in Rolling Stone with Eddie Van Halen. Reading Do the Stu's post made me laugh. Because he was talking about how much music he has been writing. I think if he had that much going on in the studio, he would have produced something by now. The interviewer asked him if he had heard of chickenfoot and he said no...i don't listen to music.

Do the Stu - DMB is on the Today Show and Chickenfoot is on the Tonight Show. Good Footday.

I decided to buy the Itunes version last night. And I am going to get the CD at Best Buy today. I really wanted the bonus track.

EVH may not be a 100 watt bulb BUT he did have a masterful plan... "Hmmmmm, if I give the kid a job, no more child support payments PLUS, maybe the kid's presence back stage will help keep me on the straight and narrow!"

Oh well, it WAS a good plan even if it did not work.

For those who haven't yet gotten the CD or vinyl:

Chickenfoot is $3.99 at Amazon MP3 but does NOT include the bonus track (Bitten By The Wolf).

iTunes has it for $9.99 and includes the bonus track.

Happy Footday (again)!

FYI, it turns out you need a wristband to get into the Best Buy signing...so if you don't have one yet you might want to call to make sure they still have some before you head over there.

roo - Maybe you're a Pink Floyd or Tom Petty fan, but today is Footday so you should be talking about Learning To Fall. ;-)
Listening to: Chickenfoot - Chickenfoot (current song: Oh Yeah)

:-)

It's so cool to finally have this...there are so many little things on the album that aren't audible on the songs we've been able to stream. I also think the singles sound much better as a part of an album instead of on their own.

By the way, I highly recommend everyone listen to the chickenfoot cd through headphones at least one time. I am a HUGE headphone believer. I have several pairs and some that cost several hundred dollars. But there is always a difference between a headphone and a speaker. This cd is just great. Also, there are a few subtle Sammy "Thanks Joe' and other things that you can pick up through the headphones.
