So I sent Joe a quick note on twitter to congratulate him on the No. 6 debut, and he tells me the album will actually be at No. 4 (it looks like Skippygirl just saw that, too). I guess he knows something we don't.
A debut in the top five? Awesome! :-)
burly - Those old Sammy Hagar videos are really cool...thanks for posting 'em. He looks so funny in that Midnight Special video, with short hair.
I thought the same thing about 10 or so years ago, when he was on one of the late night TV programs to cut his hair for Locks of Love.
I wonder what he'd look like with a shaved head...
Pip Satrini - That fries photo actually made it into the paper (I think I have a picture of the actual page up on my MySpace page too). I originally did that as a joke for part of a going away gift for a co-worker who would always eat some of my fries whenever I had some for dinner. Then a few months later one of our columnists started a "Find the best french fry" in Long Beach competition. It was a slow news day so it made the front...we needed art on the page, and the rest is history.
It was really funny hearing comments from people in town who saw the photo in the paper...everyone from my landlord to a journalism professor from college had something to say about it.
hybes - Where did you hear Aerosmith will be playing all of Toys In The Attic live? I know it's been rumored for a long time...I've been a bit out of the Aero loop lately and didn't know it was finally happening. Their local shows have already gone on sale and I decided to pass, but I'll grab a ticket if they're doing this.
BigBunny - Hi...it's cool to see you hear again! :-)
You can get the Bitten By The Wolf bonus track if you buy the Chickenfoot album on iTunes...
...Austin...

Edward Van Halen is what i want to call a miraculous gift.
He has gotten all that a guitar player could dream : genius, recognition, playing with the greatest of your time (as Holdsworth, May, Luthaker..), & lot of money.
Sad to see that as vine, he has unfortunatly taken the road of vinegar.
Sad.

Burly: Red's Taken? "Off with his head!"..!!!!
:)
Skippy, thanks for that, bloody quality control, I need to fire someone.
Talking about Aerosmith... I had a cool surprise a couple of years ago, we had a global sales kickoff in Vegas and after the main sessions it was announced that the company had hired Aerosmith to play a private concert that night for us! They'd apparently flown them over from Boston (or somewhere).. It was a very cool, and sort of surreal experience, a private concert just for employees, at the MGM. Actually ended up only having a fraction of everyone turning up for it, so we were wondering around walking right up to the stage.. very fun night.
I'll have to ask them to hire Chickenfoot next year! :)

The music video to Oh Yeah is loading on Itunes right now. Can't wait til it's done.
Burly - I'm with you on VH. I know we've all probably beaten this subject to death but it's very sad I think. VH would not be the same band if Mike wasn't in it from the beginning. There are 2 things that set that band apart when they hit the scene. The guitar and the harmony vocals. I would really be shocked if they don't go to St. Louis at some point this fall. That's Sammy's town.
Do the Stu - There is a podcast on itunes called MPN Rock: It's like a 4 or 5 minute podcast about music and it comes out once a week or so. I heard it on last week's episode. Toys is just one of the best albums ever. Check it out if you have time. Then you might want to go get your tickets. If they come to OKC I'm definitely going.

I like the Vid. That was pretty cool. How funny did Chad look on that little red drum set in the outdoor scenes? He looked like an adult on one of those 39.99 sets you get at walmart at christmas time.

Skippygirl - i saw Joe last year, was on the rail at Metro Freo >=:) saw him in '06 with G3 and in 2005... only in '05 i didn't have a very good spot, Joe needs to play Metro City. I love Fremantle but the Metro there is too small and Joe deserves a bigger venue.

Alan--Woa! Your Jem No7 nearly knocked me out of my chair! It's like hearing sounds from across the galaxy comin' in at the speed o' light!
Now, set that beer bottle buddy down.......get on the fastest boat to America and get on your bad mota scoota and ride to Cali where you can be free! ;-) You Iretalians originated in the land of lunis!! (Listening to the Romantics, "What I like about You"!!!!!!!!!!)
Austin--Thanks for views of the 1996-2000 satriani.com pages.....Great stuff.....I wish I had been there instead of mentally lost and worrying over my hubby no end!!
roo--You may not be a drummer, but you can speak their language and I think if you asked real nice, Jeff Campitelli will post something on here......once again, I can wish and dream!
burly--Thanks for Sammy Hagar in 1978 (and 1974). I agree...he is crazy! Then again......that's Sammy the surfer. It's said he was born in Monterey, Cali were the surfers are endemic!
What's this goofy stuff about Fox's biscuits? We US ppls call them cookies........just to be different!
What's this about "Weird Al" Yankkovic--Canadian Idiot?? The end, eh? Lmao!! This must be something not covered by the Red Green Show......I still love Canada and the feathered friends and furry critters therein and the many ppls!
I hung out at the bunny house yesterday with my 60+ friend and we went to lunch at a local coffee shop (not the Netherlands type). I've learned to read bunny gestures and postures.......amazing critters! Watch out Wabbit Slaywer!!
Lesee.....my favorite Steely Dan song is the title cut on my favorite album AJA. I also like Pretzel Logic......the kind of thing that may have led to the famous words.."I wish I could unscrew my head and put it on a shelf" Thank you, Joe.....them words are special to me!!
