Bought the CD yesterday, first surprise was the price, 9.99 at the register. Cool

The heat sensitive artwork obviously didn't appreciate our hot and humid weather of the last couple of days, I could clearly see the whole cover by the time I got in the car.

I like it, have heard it 3 times in the car already and I enjoy all the songs. It does seem a bit odd at times to hear Satch play riffs and chords instead of notes but I'll get used to it. My faves so far are Revolution and Get It Up.

Probably the only thing that I didn't like was the very loud mix of the first songs. I use my car stereo as my "loudness war" indicator, the volume level I can hit without distorting is the measure. The first Dream Theater album goes up to 25, most of the rock CD's I've bought in the last 2 years go up to 24, this one distorts at 22!!!!!!!! It would be interesting to see some official graphs on this. But even then, great job Joe, keep it up!!

Cool! I got the new TLB DVD with all the goodies! Love them!

Didn't receive the CF cd yet, but did get the special edition of 'As Daylight Dies' by Killswitch Engage. Which really rocks hard! \m/

My Chickenfoot fan club tshirt came in the mail today. I think someone else here already described it, but if not...it's red with the Chickenfoot logo on the front, and it says "Chickenhead".

The left sleve says "fan club" on it, in the same place where the VIP shirts said "VIP". That's the one thing I don't like about these shirts (and the shirts that come with the gold/platinum packages, which I've never bought). I don't mind wearing a shirt that advertises a BAND...but these shirts feel like they're equally advertising a fan club or extra package. To be fair, they are, but it feels weird. Oh well. ;-)

My Chickenfoot music has arrived today. I am excited!!! I have not had the chance to sign up for the Chickenfoot Fan Club yet, but hopefully I will get the chance soon.

Do The Stu: That had to been some experience when you went to the signing. Congrats again. Hopefully you might put some pictures up on the T2J Forum.

Cheese 101: I also enjoyed the Chickenfoot/Best Buy commercial. Hopefully they will air more of it. Did your Chickenfoot order come yet?

Michelle: Another Coldplay album? Hmmmm, you don't suppose they and the fans are trying to stir the pot again, are they? How did work go for you? Work is going good for me, but I am also trying to get a second job.

GoldenGirl2: You're not the only one who is high maintenance. I am kind of a perfectionist myself. I try to get bills paid right away, get cleaning and laundry done, and get things prepared for tomorrow so I won't have to worry about it. I try to stay ahead of the game.

Joe, T2Jers, & Everyone: I did do the 5K this morning and it was good. I had a time of 19 minutes and 14 seconds. I came in the top three in my Age Division and I was 5th overall out of about 100-105 participants. I'm still training on doing a full marathon. Once I do it, then I'm getting a VISA so I can travel and do a marathon in different parts of the globe, which is something I have always wanted to do.

Well, I gotta run now. I will be busy working the next four days so I might not have the chance to write to you all, but I will check in to read the posts though. See ya for now!

good eyes Skippygirl...yw

here it is for those you didnt search youtube

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6TT19cB0NTM

clearly the volumes on backing mikes had issues! Must be a new sound crew over there...ill give them a 5 but the band gets a 10 easy!

" This is for You! "

Could you make us any prouder Joe? You seem to always find a way!

I purchased the Vinyl Pre Order and so glad I did! the 8ball makes more sense now ..but not complete sense!

I went into Best buy and scored some awesome 24" x 24"posters of the band (1) and the logo(2). Theres an expiration date on them of 6/20/09. So on 6-19-09 i would collect a great souvenir for free if i were you....when you ask nicely, the peeps at Best Buy are pretty cool and they let me have the extras. They seem to be printed on the same stock as the autographed posters =) Framing Now!

do the Stu - LMAO..thanks..it was worth it

Joe,

I think that was really cool when you gave your guitar to Conan O'Brien on Friday's show. Chickenfoot sounded good, especially drums and guitar!

Anyway, you rock--I've been a fan since I was ten years old, when Dad would rock out to Surfing With the Alien and Flying in a Blue Dream.

Peace

cosmic-ape - did I miss your report from the instore signing? I'll go back over posts.

Glitzy - well that's good news! You must come do the Melbourne marathon then in October. 42km along the beach road from Frankston to Melbourne. There are shorter runs too like the 21km, 10km etc. I don't think I'm cut out to be a runner, I prefer strength stuff so I admire anyone who can run.

Other good news - Australia has qualified for the World Cup yyiippee!! Takes the edge off the Japan match next week but it will still be great to see the Socceroos again, hope Harry Kewell plays.

Pip, Iggy - went out on the Red Rocket bike this morning, winter has really set in now, at 7.00am my fingers and toes were numb - did 25km.

GG2 - you have the most wonderful turn of phrase, hope all is well with Steve.

Austin, that cover is hilarious!! Tweet it to CFJoe!

Work was rough, but I made it. Now I'm dead tired and just remembered I have to run out to buy a gift bag for my sis in law's bday presents for tomorrow.

I guess putting somebody's 50th birthday presents in a Christmas gift bag would be tacky, huh? LOL!

*sigh - does face plant on desk*

bol316 - At this point in Joe's career, he doesn't have to answer to anyone but himself. He's not tied into some long-term recording contract and he isn't working to pay back a huge advance from a record company or anything like that.

He's doing exactly what he wants to do, and that's awesome.

It might not be the kind of music you like, and that's OK if it isn't. But Chickenfoot isn't holding him back. You're welcome to your own opinion, obviously, but I really do think you're missing something. Give Chickenfoot another listen...

His playing is still a step above everyone else's...his rhythm parts here are just as innovative as his lead work is on his solo stuff. And as a songwriter, he clearly has chemistry with Sammy and I think it'd be a shame to not dig deeper into that.

Sounds like to me he jus goes in an jams some simple bluesy rockin riffs, chad puts a good solid beat down and mike plays along to whatever, sammy sings about anything... thats all really, not that innovative! tis funny lisitenin to some of the solos cause its like a mesh of a few bits from Joe's songs! but thats just me, its all good, good for Joe

There all good enough in each area at what they do to go in and know how to make stuff people will get a groove off too

Had to drive to Salem Or. to buy my copy of "Chickenfoot" no one local had it. Anyway after listening for the past 4 hours which equals about 4 turns. I like it. My concern going in was that Joe's playing was going to turn into something like Jazz scales a bunch of leads that lead to nowhere, that stuff turn me off to the majority of Jazz music.

Here are my initial thoughts on this new Gem.

The drumming is strong and makes me want to see Chad play these songs live to truly appreciate his skills.

The Bass, I've been listening to VH since the begining and I always thought that Michael's playing took a back seat to the vocals and guitar. Granted I never saw VH live so I don't know about the live music. Having listened to his playing on these new songs, his playing sounds fantastic. It's also sounds strong, like he is playing with a purpose and determination to show that he is is more than the back up vocals for DLR and Sammy.

Sammy, I've always liked but often times I felt some of the songs he wrote/sang were things to fill a record. Not this time. With each song his vocals are also strong and filled with alot passion. But, it is also demanding a new level of singing in his performance of the songs.

Joe, I've been listening to your GIFT since the winter of 1988-89 when I 1st heard SWTA cruising around So. Padre Island in Texas. So as your skills and talents have progressed so has my taste in music. The music on this new CD is incredible. We get the other three components I wrote about plus we get all these SATCH NUGGETS littered through each and every song. I can' say enough good things of how thoroughly impressed and surprised I am at how well this collaboration between these four musicians turned out. I felt as I heard each song for the 1st time that every one else's playing and singing was brought up a step or two to match Joe's focus and musicianship.

In conclusion, it's my feeling that Joe has brought something our of these three guys that might have been missing. I am glad and grateful that I have the chance to enjoy and participate in this new and exciting collaboration. Blue Buffalo aka Freddy
