If you missed Chickenfoot on the Tonight Show, Blabbermouth posted a news item with a YouTube video.

Also, Classic Rock Revisited has a nice interview with Michael Anthony. A few highlights:

We are saying now, that we should have called this band ‘One Genius & a Bunch of Idiots.’ Joe balances the rest of us out.

Joe Satriani, is a methodical, and structured, kind of guy—thank God for that. Every day, he came to the studio with his staff paper, while the rest of us were saying that we should put up a blackboard and scribble down what we needed to work on. Joe would say, “No, we are not going to do that.” You really need someone like that in the studio.

And, a nice closing comment:

We told [Chad] in Chickenfoot there will be no socks. You can still be a man and have a big dick—we all have big dicks—but in Chickenfoot we are going to wear pants.

...Austin...

Do the stu thank you for those highlights.

Still listening to Killswitch Engage every day, loud! Big guitar walls and great harmonies. A new album on it's way while I'm still collecting the older stuff, talking about good timing ;-)

In spite of rain predictions still sunny sunday morning in Amsterdam. Coffee.

Wow...

That's all I can say...

That and I'm on the floor, went out for a night in the city last night and had this album on my car speakers the whole time. I must have played the album like....5 times today.

Chickenfoot rocks live, probably one of the freshest most creative live personalities in a long time. Yeah Joe gets his in too, he rocks as always. The tonight show performance was outstanding.

I got one question that I am sure has entered a lot of other peoples minds, and I know we are still waiting for the live in paris DVD to come out but...

Will there be a "Chickenfoot Live!" DVD? I sure hope so, Sammy is such an amazing stage personality and a great singer. So many singers they days have to hunch over the microphone and assume a "power position" to get their signature sound, myself included, but not Sammy, he just lets it fly. I totally want to see them perform live, but alas there are no stops on this tour in Greece.

So is it too much to ask for a live DVD Joe Please buddy huh?

CHICKENFOOT!!!!

I will trade a two day legendary Arkansas duck hunt pit rental for 2 front row seats @ the Uptown Theater in Kansas City Aug. 11 for the Chickenfoot show. FYI. I trade hunting trips but a rock and roll concert will be a first.

A trip to Jonesboro last evening yielded a plate of wonderful Italian cuisine as well as a CHICKENFOOT cd from Hastings...YYYESSSS!!

I like it very much, and one thing that came full circle in my mind...While listening to "Learning to Fall" I realized something I knew all along. Micheal Anthony was as much a part of Van Halen's signature sound as EVH' guitar or DLR's vocals. His harmonies took me back to the early days and the first albums I heard as a teenager. And those are sweet memories.

Joe if you read this tell Mikey that Burly says he's a legend and thank him for me.

You really can hear influences by each of the 4 members careers scattered through this album. One thing that stuck out with this one is that it was evident that a lot of the melodies were influenced by Joe. This added a new facet to Sammy's vocals that we have not heard before. Most of his vocals were classic Sammy. This is some of Mike's best bass work and Chad is a wild man. What can I say?

It is difficult for me to pick a favorite at this point.

I now must see The Foot live. I am thinking that K.C. will be my best chance to see them. (That is if I can manage to score tickets) It's a 4 and a half hour drive buy hey...ya know.. These guys are some of my my life heroes.

Satriella- enjoy the Chickenfoot album. You have the rest of your life to enjoy Clapton's music.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend and Skippy do all Aussies have Monday off?

Michelle- Guys are serious about some duck hunting and this is an attractive offer. Girls are not usually impressed but some are.

The theater only holds 2300 people if I read correctly and I bet my chances are slim on getting 2 seats let alone front row. As I may have a taker on this, allow me to describe what the trade will consist of:

First few rows will be considered as fair for trade. As for the hunt, weekends for the 2009 2010 season are not available, so you will have to settle for weekdays only if you plan to use the hunt this season. However, if you want a coveted weekend hunt for the 2010 - 2011 season that is doable on any weekend as of right now. Opening weekend and the Week after Christmas is always the first to go. THIS IS A FIELD/ PIT RENTAL (Sorry about the shouting) but so you know, this is not a single person hunt. Any of my pits will hunt 6-8 people. This is a field and pit blind for 2 days in a flooded rice field for a group.

As for the value of this hunt: There are people in this area who charge $700.00 / day for this. I charge $200.00 . day for the same quality hunt. This is UNGUIDED. So these packages are for experienced hunters. This does not include lodging.

So the long and short, A $400.00 value in exchange for 2 seats upfront in Kansas City.

Hey. I am really sad right now and crying :(

I have met a wonderful girl and im in love. But the problem is that I cant see her in a long time as she lives too far away from me :'(

And theres also an other reason. I cant see Chickenfoot live :'(. I am on a vacation on the other side of the country when they come to Denmark. I live right next to Cobenhagen where VEGA is. And my parrents wont let me stay home, or let me go by bus to the concert :'(

The new Chickenfoot album is also amazing. Learning to fall is just undescribable. I would probably say its the best song I have ever heard. It does something to me that I cant describe. Everytime I hear it, it makes me cry. I have been listning it over 100 times now. And it is still as good as the first time I heard it. The first solo is f***ing amazing. And the second solo is better than the Stairway to Heaven solo. I still dont know the lyrics of the song. I havent been listning to them. Dont know why. It is just incredible!!!

Hi there, was wondering if you could take the time to help out.

I am designing a new website for guitar players and I want you all to have a say as to what you would like in a guitar site.

It is mostly aimed at guitar players doing thier own instrumental music and will be a place to showcase your own songs/albums etc.

It will have the standard things such as a discussion forum and reviews and intervies etc.

I would love to hear feedback as to what you would like to see in a modern guitarists website or even criticism as to why you

don't think we need a new guitar site!

One last thing, feel free to recomend a domain name, preferably one not taken.

It would also be great if you could fill your answer in the form here and

put guitar site as the title.

This way it's easier to get everyone oppinions in one place, my email box.

P.S. I am posting this message in a lot of guitar forums that I am a member of but I don't want to be seen as spam as I am trying

to design something that's good for guitar players.

Thanks

Pip- I had a great deal of respect for the driving abilities of Kyle Busch, never really cared for his attitude but the guy can drive. His attitude has not garnered him a a huge fan base despite his success. However I still had respect for his abilities.

After winning the Nationwide series race yesterday in Nashville, he was awarded the traditional Nashville trophy a one off Gibson Les Paul. Here is what he did with it. I really am always uncomfortable even when a musician smashes a guitar but this was very inappropriate.

God day Joe!

Only five days ago I recieved my brand new JS1200 Candy Apple guitar. It works perfectly well :)

Now, I am going to take a vacation in Germany this summer and I am bringing my guitar with me. And luckily it shows up Chickenfoot plays a show in Hamburg 7 July. And I ordered my tickets for the show yesterday.

I just wondered if there was any possiblility that you could sign the guitar after the show or something?

Good luck! Cant wait to see you guys playing!

Hey Joe, just another fan

Been playin guitar for almost 2 years now and it's coming along great. You might know my guitar teacher, he's met you backstage someplace and jammed with you, his name's Eric Stadler if that rings any bells, anyway I'm one of his best students and I plan to keep on improving. I aim to someday play my guitar on stage with you and practicing my guitar with passion, hoping to someday impress YOU.

I'll keep listening to ur music, as it inspires me to keep on practicing. I'll see you on stage someday man. Later... Steve

I'm catching up on a few things going back to Friday...

campbell - Your week without rain was a week with clouds and rain here in California...the sun finally did come out today, though.

satchblues - I haven't heard from you...did you end up making it out to the signing, or no?
burly - The top speed limit in California is 70, but when there isn't traffic most people seem to go 75 or 80. When I went on that road trip to Arizona and New Mexico back in March, I noticed the speed limit in most open areas was 75. That was awesome, because just about EVERYONE went 75...I rarely saw any speeders. I thought that was kind of interesting...
cosmic_ape - Mike Anthony is left-handed? Awesome...I didn't realize that.

And thanks for finding that EJ video.

Skippygirl - It was on my mind, but I didn't get to say hi for you...I barely got to say hi for me, actually. :-/ The Best Buy people were really crazy about getting everyone through the line as quickly as possible. It was kind of annoying, but I guess I see where they're coming from. Past in-stores (Guitar Center and Tower Records) had a friendlier staff, but Joe was the only person at those...

So it didn't work out, but now that means Joe has to go to Australia! He has no choice... ;-)

bluebuffalo - Thanks for your Chickenfoot review. You're right about Chad...he destroys this stuff live. My favorite is the fill in the middle of Learning to Fall. I'm sure you know the one I'm talking about...
Blue_Moon - So did you buy One Big Rush? I did a while ago...still haven't listened, though. ;-)
Listening to: Dave Matthews Band - Seven

I'm really loving this song from their new album. As the name suggests, the majority of the song is in 7, which is always fun. There's an intro in 8 and another section (the bridge I guess, although it's in the song twice) in 5.

Check it out:
