Our house has been rockin' all afternoon and evening! Great album!!!!!!!!
I'm with Michelle's post a day or two ago though -
"Our Joe" isn't going to be ours after today. I'm pumped for him to be in a big-time band, but it's also a bit strange. Can't explain it.
I don't post often, but do read good old T2J frequently and Joe's loyal satchaholics are the best! Great info. & insights here.
The other day I was cleaning out my dresser and stumbled across my old T2J shirt with the yellow bar across the back for our user names to be written in black Sharpie, ha. I remember wearing it to The Filmore one show and meeting other T2J'ers.
I thnik the guys really mesh well with one another with Joe being the quiter calm one, Mike being the happy smiling one, and Chad & Sammy being the rambunctious one's.
Great chemistry, great band! Should help for a fun suumer!
Good move Joe and thanks again for your music!

Footday? It's D-Day. Veterans gather for D-Day event
Saw interviews with these old guys last night on TV, very moving stories. Once you get older your perception of time changes; only 15 years before I was born Adolf was still walking around. In the past I didn't vote for a long time (I don't like a shortsighted idiot a.k.a. politician to represent me). But since I visited the French coast ('Atlantik Wall') in the early 90's seeing the fields with the thousands of crosses myself and not on TV, I started voting again. Realizing freedom and democracy we have here should not be taken for granted. The right to vote was brought back here with a sea colored red with young mens blood. Great sacrifice.

I'm back from the signing...more on that in a minute.
First...if anyone in the LA area is reading this, can you record tonight's 11 p.m. NBC (channel 4) news broadcast? They were at the Best Buy signing and I was interviewed...I don't have a way to record TV here at my apartment. I'm not sure if I'll make it on the broadcast, as they talked to a lot of people, but it'd be nice to get a copy somewhere just in case.
Thanks...

Hey Joe,
Watched Chickenfoot on Conan tonight. (OH YEAH!) Saw you gave another one of your Chickenfoot guitars away to Conan. How many of those things do you have!?! Haha!
Went to pick up the album today, the local music store was sold out! I'll just web order the vinyl. :P
Wish Chickenfoot would tour Texas but maybe another day... :(
Great Music! Always a fan!

All I can say is that performance on Conan was BAADDAASSSS!!! I loved all of it and I couldn't believe Joe gave Conan that guitar he was playing. Joe has a big heart than so many people, especially some musicians.
Do The Stu: Congrats on getting interviewed and the signings. Hope you will get shown on television.
GoldenGirl2: Thank you for the praises and I thank you and Steve for your loyalty and being good friends to me as well.
Cheese101: Congrats to Chris on his gigs. Looks like we will see a future Joe in him. Don't feel bad, my CD and Vinyl hasn't arrived yet.
Michelle: I was thinking the same thing about Chad, but he also had that Conan wig on. Hope work goes well for you in the morning.
Joe & Chickenfoot: Great performance. Chad, excellent job on the drums & great "Will Ferrell/Conan" look. Michael, I enjoyed your bass/guitar playing. Nice job on the backup vocals. Sammy, way to go on singing "Oh Yeah." All I could say was "OH YEAH!" Joe, I praise you on your guitar playing. Now I know why you have such a huge heart when you gave Conan that guitar you were playing. Congrats to you all!
I got today off and speaking of Joe, I went to one of our local arcades and played Surfing With The Alien on Guitar Hero (twice). That was so much fun.
Well, time to finish up laundry and get ready for bed. I might be doing a 5K Run Saturday morning. I haven't decided yet if I will do it or not. I'll let you guys know when I talk to you all. See ya for now!

I'm pretty beat, so I don't think I'll stay up to watch Conan (one more hour here in the West Coast)... Also, I have to wake up early tomorrow
Austin, it was nice hanging out with you as usual... I'm setting my VCR to tape the whole thing...
Al, we had some In and Out in your honor...
JOE, I am very glad I finally got to shake your hand... I'm not star struck at all, but I really admire and respect you so I'm sorry I couldn't articulate any coherent sentences at the moment... I talked to Mike more than what I talked to you(I noticed he's left handed!!!)...
Unfortunately, I have no footage of the thing because we were not allowed to tape or take any pictures... I wish I knew there were giving away a real JS guitar at the thing, I'd have signed up for it... Not that I have any luck at all in any of those things, or that I could play the damn guitar if I won it, I'm left handed!!!...
Anyway, it's been a long day... Later...

It was great to see you again, Joe! Thanks for taking the time to talk to me a bit, even though the Best Buy people were pushing everyone along as fast as they could. And Mick, if you're reading this, it was nice to see you again too.
Joe was first at the table and then I made my way down the line...Mike was next, then Chad, and Sammy was on the other end.
Chad remembered me from the Roxy gig!
As I was making my way along he screamed "HOW did you know all the words?" I think I mentioned this here after that show, but I was up front at the Roxy and Chad was making faces at me while I was singing along to everything. He threw me a stick and gave me a pick from Sammy as a result...I had him sign the stick tonight.
Backing up a bit... I got to Best Buy around 5 p.m. for the 8 p.m. signing, and the line was much longer than it was at a comparable time for the Chickenfoot gig at the Roxy last month. This wasn't a gig and it involved fewer people, but it was crowded earlier? I'll never figure out crazy LA people...haha.
I took a few pictures of the line outside, but as cosmic_ape said, they didn't allow cameras inside. They had a lot of Chickenfoot ads everywhere, and the band was playing on all the TVs in the store. They had tape on the floor directing us where to go for the signing...the markings alternated between arrows and Chickenfoot logos, which I thought was a nice touch.
Anyway... Conan is on now...I watched the news before this and they only gave about 15 seconds to Chickenfoot. The anchor didn't even mention Joe's name on air...argh!

Not that late here in Honolulu. Chickenfoot really ought to consider playing at the Waikiki Shell later this year - I saw Hendrix there twice.
There are only 2 critical Steely Dan records - The Royal Scam was the last of the gritty, followed by Aja which was the first of the polished. Both are important.
Pay attention to the Chickenfoot site next Monday for tour and ticket information.
Regarding the vinyl discs - you may recall that dynamic range is an important consideration in audio capture and reproduction. To get more dynamic range on vinyl, you need deeper grooves and you need to place them wider apart - otherwise, when you try to reproduce LOUD music the needle will simply jump out of the track if you pack it all too tightly. Thus, the Chickenfoot LP had to be on two discs.

I'm up and dressed, but not sure if I'm functioning. lol! Couldn't fall asleep until around 1:30, and had to wake up at 5:00 for work. I might have slept better if Sammy wouldn't have been yelling 'GET IT UP!" in my head all night. lol! Maybe I shouldn't have listened to the cd so many times. lol! Anyways, it's all good, and I got my Foot fix.
The clip might be up on Conan's website. I think they have full episodes there too.
Jayzus I'm tired. lol!
T - good luck today getting the cd.

Aussies- I like peanut butter and jelly on toast.
Austin- thanks for the fill in on the signing.
I think I am going to buy the album on itunes tonight when I get home.Hastings and other stores should have the hard copy in stock by Monday ,right? I will probably get the vinyl as well just to have. My turntable is not the best. It skips really badly. I am thinking about buying a good one. I love vinyl.
Ranjak- Thanks for the memory jog on "The Royal Scam". Here is Steve Gadd on his fills for "Aja"
