Austin, they served you the tortillas AND the enchiladas?? Man, that's over doing it, I would expect that at home, not in a restaurant!! One thing I will do is use tortilla chips to scoop up beans or whichever side dish is served, which is kind of the same thing as eating a separate tortilla, so...

Last year I missed a Candlebox show here in El Paso due to travel (LTE!!), but it must have been a success because they're coming back on July 3rd. I won't miss it this time! In preparation I was listening to Happy Pills earlier today, the first 4 songs kick soooo much @$$, it only confirmed that I do want to see them live. And then the next day The Cult and Lacuna Coil will be here as well, but I'll probably skip that one, there's only so much money I can spend on these things, and I have already seen Coil live.

Life is Good...yes..YES!

A perfectly tuned floor tom blends well with Mikey's bass on "My Kinda Girl". I like how they mixed it to where it blends from the intro into the verse and Mikey's bass takes over the mix. Chad has earned my respect. He is rock solid.

Cappy Steve- I have had the cd for 1 week and every day I like it more. Take your time , savor it.

I have been texting friends and urging them to buy the Chickenfoot album.

Has anyone seen the Billboard results for this week?

If I can still buy VIP tickets to the Atlanta show, I might go. It is just difficult to plan a getaway with so much family activity over the summer. Summer is our lake time and I feel guilty skipping out .

Good night all, early day tomorrow.

Had to share this with you all, was just getting my girls herded toward bed for school tomorrow when we decided to "jam" since one plays clarinet and one plays piano and we had each just done a little practice.

So there we are, a threesome, playing Ode to Joy, me on guitar, + clarinet + piano, my daughter puts a disco beat on the keyboard to help us along and Mr Skippy runs into the room playing "bass" by making farting noises on his armpit - LMAO!!!!! Just recovered from laughing my sides are hurting so much.

Wah wah wah da dee da - so you like the album? Do you have a favorite track? At this point I am looking at it to figure out my least favorite. I hope my truck speakers hold up. Yes Al, most cds I can crank to about 40 and it's great jamming level.(rear window looks as if it will explode) but I have to crank this one to 46 or 47 to get the same effect.

Ozzy, Fatape, Roo and dream 3- So what do the rest of the Aussies think about the album? Any favorites or standouts?

Mixed reactions from the T2Jers- some like it some don't. Some say ehh it's OK. Cool,.. different stokes for different folks. I know it's hard to see Joe move in a different direction but guys he is having so much fun and is now getting the mainstream recognition he deserves. He'll be back with a Joe album. This album brings back American rock at it's best. That is something that is almost non- existent in today's environment. I've been telling my old friends,"buy it..It'll make you feel young again. This album brings a lot of things back for me and solidifies these guys as true musical heroes. This really is something special.

One more day left before the workweek begins,..enjoy

Although, I would have more appreciated a gig from the ancient Yes, I must admit it's today one week since I attended the gig from the ancient AC/DC, and though I'm not a particular big fan of the band, I greatly enjoyed the show. Straight and basic, it's only r'n'r, but I liked it

burly - MORNING! Like a few other peeps it's really difficult to pick a favourite song! They're all great IMO. Mind you, if I know I'm not going to hear the whole album due to time restrictions (e.g. in the car) I'll start at Down The Drain, I love the sequencing into MKG, LTF, Tl and FITP.

Ibanezguitar : i've been into AC/DC from High Voltage until For Those About To Rock. With them, it's all about blue riff & energy, but with an heavy crunchy tone. I was a huge fan of Bon Scott (voice, lyrics, attitude). & the Angus feeling is simply insane.

Yes.. well.. it's an other thing. That's what we have called Rock Symphonic.

If you loved Yes, maybe you'll love the swedish bandTrettioariga Kriget

Burly : i think it's a good thing Joe gets different experiences, even if CF is not really what i'm looking for currently. That's so ironic to see how the Joe's destiny is connected to the evh's one, & that they've never played together. yeap.. very ironic.

I'm probably the least impartial to give a review, but I am really enjoying the album, and that's all that matters to me, the music!

I do have some moments on the album that I think are just "ok", but the coolest 2 things are actually:

1) I get to sing along with Joe

And

2) I love singing in Sammy's style! I think if I was ever a singer I'd have probably adopted a similar style, it's just so fun!

Anyway, back 2 work on my second iPhone app, it's pretty much full time outside of my fulltime job.

I discovered Sammy Hagar with the 5150 song. During these times, ed was still an awesome song composer.

& then, i've to say that i've been unable to follow the commercial hard fm way that has taken the band, even if Sammy has allowed to the VH boat to go on, that's a point.

But,

I don't want to polemic. Don't want to offend the Van Hagar fans.. but it's obvious, the greatest creative years of Van Halen band were between 1978 & 1984. That's simply obvious if we consider the musical point.

& to say all, i prefer the old Sammy Hagar, This one, than the VH one.

Finally all that current VH thing is very sad & disappointing.

I'm especially happy for Michaël Anthony, the historic VH bass player, that he can play with a guitar genius like Joe. I don't know why & how he has left vh boat, & i don't want to know. Respect to you, Michaël

Well, enough babbling for a moonday.

Zenfish- I agree with you on AC/DC. I really miss Bon Scott and the energy and inspiration he gave to their music. I prefer Bon over Brian although I think Brian did a good job taking over in his place. In my opinion "Back in Black" was the best production an any Ac/Dc album, thus producer "Mutt" Lange. (genius) He did a masterful thing with Brian Johnson's voice. I think that if Lange had produced the following albums they would have been better.

Check out the version of Sammy;s "Heavy Metal" from the "Standing Hampton" album. (much different from the version from the soundtrack) This is usually the one you would hear on the radio.

I would also have to agree that the earl years of VH were the most creative musically. I will always remember listening to the early material as a teen. I was disappointed when VH departed with Roth but I was so much into Sammy and his vocal style that I was thrilled to learn that he was joining VH. To me there could have been no other choice. VH considered a lot of different vocalists to relace Roth. We almost had this cutie fronting VH instead of Sammy. She has a great voice but I'm glad they chose Sammy.

Roo- If you can hang with Sammy on those powerful high notes, U da Man. I would love to be able to sing like Sammy. Mike has a high range as well.

Cheers!

More of what could have been with Van Halen I could see where she is more pleasant to look at than Sammy. (No offense Sam)

We used to play this in the clubs with Lisa on Vocals

Burly : i never really entered into Brian's voice. Back in Black is very well produced, i agree. For Those About to Rock too..

But my fav albums are with no discussion Let There Be Rock, & Highway To Hell, & of course the live If you want Blood you've got it. With Bon Scott, AC/DC has been the "bluesest" hardrock band of story of Hard. That's what i loved. Brian has brought a new dimension to the band, heaviest, but has never gotten the deep blue feel, with no separation between life & music, that Bon got.. & that his tragic end has confirmed.

Overdose

... and the pages keep on flying by....

Cheese - that little baby talking at 100 miles an hour was funny! You're right about the heat sensitive triangle - what does yours say (see below post to Mr Lewis)?

michelle - that's a little worrying (Al). Surprised Cube hasn't jumped all over it.... um, I think that sounds wrong....

Scubadaz - lol! Friday nights were good from the sound of that!

Cube - from everything you've aired so far, I can't imagine it'll take you long to be play a jazz classic, time being the main issue I guess? Keep us posted

Do the Stu - Cheese is right, it's the triangle on the inside cover photo of the band. Mine says "not now". I just assumed it was a code to get at something or another. Sounds like not, shame

Roo - is the iphone app in Java or other?

Skippy - now THAT's a band, especially with the armpit tuba or whatever you want to call it. Shoulda recorded it and posted it to Youtoob!

Right, off to watch Andy Murray and I think I'm gonna have some cucumber & cheese sammich's - how quaint

Enjoy the rest of the weekend peeps
