HI joe!. I`m Hernan Castro, I`m from Argentina, I live in Buenos Aires. This is the first time I try to contact you. I went to the concert of G3 on 2006/10/23 in Luna Park and in Obras on 2008/7/25. I was so exciting to meet you. I have your DVDs: G3 live in concert, G3 live in tokio, G3 live in denver, Joe Satriani live in San Francisco, Joe Satriani live in India and Joe satriani: stach tapes. I love your music. I love Steve Vai` songs too. Sometimes, I listen to Jimmy Hendrix`s music, and my favourites songs are: voodoo child, hey joe, foxey lady and little wing. I love little wing played in the DVD called G3 live in denver. I play some of your songs. My favourites songs are: the extremist, crying, summer song, super colossal, andalusia, surfing with the alien, always with me always with you, I just wanna rock, crowd chant and ten words. Either, Vai`songs like for the love of god, tender surrender and erotic nightmares. I have played guitar since 2005. Now, I`m 16 years old and I have played for 3 or 4 years. I admire you and I want to be like you. Write me soon. I will waiting for your letter. PD: to be honest, Chickenfoot it`s great! My favourite song is Soap on a rope. I hope you will visit Argentina very soon. YOU ROCK!!! Hernan

Evenin all! There is a bunch of exellent vids we took at the Boston and NYC shows. My wife took the ones in Boston which is why they have a lot of Sammy in them. I did the ones in NYC which is why there is a lot of Joe. Fair warning, I had a real hard time staying still, so some of these are a little shaky lol, but well worth it. We were in the front row for both shows so we got great stuff! This is our spot on youtube. http://www.youtube.com/user/clubcabonortheast. Enjoy!

oxley11 - Tickets to Joe's shows are usually in the $50-$75 range. On the current tour, shows at higher end venues (resorts, casinos) will be closer to $100 and lawn tickets at outdoor amphitheaters will probably be closer to $40.

roo - I also seem to remember Jeff having made one post here, way back when (during the EOC era). I don't know when though, and there are a lot of archives from that time.

Matt Bissonette hasn't posted on this board post-2000, and I don't think any of Joe's band members have posted on the site before then (although I'm not completely certain...it's before my time here).

...Austin...

A story on sound and tone- Back in the early 80s Ted Nugent somehow got together with EVH for some conversation and ended up back in his studio. The Nuge told Ed he would like to plug in to that "magic box of his" Ed's reply was something to the extent of oh it's just a blah, blah, blah and a blah, blah, blah (my way of describing ed's amp because I don't remember what he was using then). Ted was like "yeah right". Those present said Ted plugged into Ed's amp and began to play and it sounded remarkably like Ted Nugent. So there you have it,sound more often than not,has more to do with the artist's touch than the equipment he is using. Which solidifies what every T2Jer has said in the past about their favorite players. So many greats so many to influence each individual in sometimes different ways.

I can't get the wife to commit to plan a trip. At this point I wouldn't mind the Lake Tahoe show, but that is an expensive trip.

Has anyone did the backstage experience on this tour?

Life in the 1500's ....where we got many sayings...

The next time you are washing your hands and complain because the water temperature isn't just how you like it, think about how things used to be. Here are some facts about the 1500's:

Most people got married in June, because they took their yearly bath in May and still smelled pretty good by June. However, they were starting to smell, so brides carried a bouquet of flowers to hide the body odour. Hence the custom today of carrying a bouquet when getting married.

Baths consisted of a big tub filled with hot water. The man of the house had the privilege of the nice clean water, then all the other sons and men, then the women and finally the children! Last of all the babies. By then the water was so dirty you could actually lose someone in it. Hence the saying, "Don't throw the baby out with the bath water."

Houses had thatched roofs-thick straw-piled high, with no wood underneath. It was the only place for animals to get warm, so all the cats and other small animals (mice, bugs) lived in the roof. When it rained it became slippery and sometimes the animals would slip and off the roof. Hence the saying "It's raining cats and dogs."

There was nothing to stop things from falling into the house. This posed a real problem in the bedroom where bugs and other droppings could mess up your nice clean bed. Hence, a bed with big posts and a sheet hung over the top afforded some protection. That's how canopy beds came into existence.

The floor was dirt. Only the wealthy had something other than dirt. Hence the saying "dirt poor." The wealthy had slate floors that would get slippery in the winter when wet, so they spread thresh (straw) on floor to help keep their footing. As the winter wore on, they added more thresh until when you opened the door it would all start slipping outside. A piece of wood was placed in the entranceway. Hence the saying a "thresh hold."

In those old days, they cooked in the kitchen with a big kettle that always hung over the fire. Every day they lit the fire and added things to the pot. They ate mostly vegetables and did not get much meat. They would eat the stew for dinner, leaving leftovers in the pot to get cold overnight and then start over the next day. Sometimes stew had food in it that had been there for quite a while. Hence the rhyme, "Peas porridge hot, peas porridge cold, peas porridge in the pot nine days old."

Sometimes they could obtain pork, which made them feel quite special. When visitors came over, they would hang up their bacon to show off. It was a sign of wealth that a man could "bring home the bacon." They would cut off a little to share with guests and would all sit around and "chew the fat."
